Calling FNC right-leaning is one of the new liberal straw man arguments and rallying cries, similar to "Fox is entertainment news, so it doesn't count." The reason people deny liberal bias in the mainstream media is because they are so out of touch that they don't step back from their myopic view of the big picture. I don't think anyone can watch anything on ABC, CBS or NBC, be it their evening news shows or their primetime investigative shows, and say that it isn't slanted. Sometimes the mere tone of their voice does it. I listen to Rush every day and at the top of every hour, the local ABC affiliate runs the New York ABC news update and they are the worst. Some reporter last week told us that after Boxer asked her questions (of which they did not play a clip), Condoleeza "fired back!" They then played a clip of Condi when her voice was raised for all of three seconds. Considering that most of the US is either reasonable or anti-liberal, this comes off as being out of touch with them, and they lose viewers. Is FNC the top-rated cable network because Dubya is using behind-the-scenes manipulation to make it that way? I think it's because they report all facets of news (including reporting the good work being done in Iraq) and because they are much more energetic than the corpse-like talking heads on the network news. How do I know the mainstream media is liberal? I watch it and see it.

I'm a pretty big Hall fan and the oldest finisher I can think of is the Diamond Death Drop (Razor's/Outsider's) Edge. In AWA he probably did something lame like a vertical suplex as a finisher. Heh.

I am willing to say that it is possible that he will become comparable to Austin or Hogan. Like I said: Given his look, his charisma, his determination, his smartness, his momentum and room to improve in the ring, I think he could be the next breakout star. At least one other echoed my sentiments about Batista not being the one that will ruin his own rise. I think that given a fair chance, what the qualities mentioned above, he can make it. That said, your feelings that fans are latching onto Bat due to desperation is the yin to my yang of some other fans being negative about his push due to cynicism. In the end, all we can do is make educated guesses, and my guess is that Batista has a better chance than anyone right now. If I am proven wrong, then I am proven wrong.

I don't think anyone can say that Batista isn't the one. We can speculate, but to proclaim it like it's gospel and etched in stone seems like conditioned negativity. And that is understandable, considering TV for the last four years or so. I think Batista has it. He is a big guy, he has the look, he has the momentum. If he fails, then it probably won't be his fault. And it won't be Snitsky's, either. Just like it isn't Orton's own fault that his push is and has been failing. Just like it isn't Jericho, Benoit and Eddie's faults for their title pushes failing. As for Batista's ring ability, he has room to improve. Go back and look at old tapes of some of the better wrestlers and then watch them now. Differences are noticeable. I just don't think we should prognosticate a path of doom for Batista. Sure, it could be a possible path, but there is also a chance that he will be the next breakout star. I for one have never been big on Bat-man...until last month. I am jumpin' on the bandwagon. On a lighter note... I think his "Demon Bomb" needs a better name. I noticed that in the skits with HHH, he always has a voice of reason. What if the DB was renamed the Voice of Reason? And has anyone noticed that his entrance theme sounds like something from the title screen of an NES game?

Using the GI Bro gimmick was actually Booker T's idea, if I remember correctly. I don't know his logic behind that one. It definitely wasn't a decision like Undertaker reverting to an old gimmick. As for Jericho, I remember him being at the WCW.com booth at a PPV, possibly GAB '99.
