    Is Austin equal to Hogan?

I believe Hogan claimed to be and Independent, but he supported Republican/Libertarian economic methods. He was on Jay Leno in late '98 after he announced that he was going to run for president. I never understood that entire angle. He went on Leno, Imus and all those shows claiming to be running, and then they just dropped it. Was it some kind of work or was it a shoot and he simply realized how absurd the idea was and cut it short? They did turn him face later on in the year ('99) so who knows. ...does anybody know?

WWE to announce 2005 Hall of Fame inductees

Vince now wants the WWE HOF to cover all professional wrestling. That explains that, then. It should have been clear to me. He does baseball players, so why not other wrestling promotions?

WWE to announce 2005 Hall of Fame inductees

I have to agree with the people against the Shiek and Nikolai inductions. I was surprised at their names being announced. I don't think they added anything that was revolutionary. The Hulkster could have taken on anyone with a shaven head, curl-toed boots and an Iranian flag and he would have made the fans go hoss. As for Solie, he wasn't in the WWF/E unless I'm missing something.

Exactly. We'll see how long he can last without spending the night in Chynna.

    Dumb Wrestling Questions?

<<Would you believe the main event of Wrestlemania? Seriously, Wrestlemania 13, Sid vs. Taker. It's hard to actually see the alleged shite, but watch Taker's weird facial expression and hesitation when he picks Sid up for the tombstone.>> I have every WM save for 15. I will have to check it out tonight when I come home. Is this just postulation based upon UT's facial expression or did someone spill the beans (no pun intended) on the pants-crapping?

    Dumb Wrestling Questions?

HA! I have heard about this, but can somebody tell me when and where it happened? Was it TV or PPV or just a house show?

    Sean Waltman Moves on

Meltzer said in today's update that he did come to an agreement with Jarret. But this type of relationship with Waltman and Laurer doesn't just stop. It's possible that he will return to Joanie. Sean may have the rescuer syndrome. I have never had anything against the guy, so I hope he succeeds. EDIT: In fact, I downright felt sorry for the guy at Invasion when the fans shit all over him in his match with Kidman. You could tell he was getting frustrated so he kept on doing more and more high risk moves.

    Rewriting History

I can't remember the details, but I had some really good ideas for Raven's WWF run in 2000. Based upon the rumors that he would show up at Unforgiven 2000 and join up with Kane, I envisioned a more compact and smarter-booked Flock with Kane as the main person that Raven would manipulate/manage. It would all culminate in a match between the two possibly as early as WM17, as late as SummerSlam '01.

    Dumb Wrestling Questions?

<<How did Rick Rude die and at what point in '97/where did he die?>> It was early '99, actually. I believe March. He died in his kitchen of heart failure most likely due to drug abuse.

    WWF/E Tidbits from the past

That ridiculous animal rights thing was probably just another thorn in the side of a beleaguered WWF that they didn't need to deal with. Chances are, there were similar charges years prior, but Vince and company simply laughed them off. Remember, Koko had Frankie, the Bulldogs had Matilda and Ricky had that Kimono dragon for a short time. On the other hand, it could have been that the kooks wanted to attack a weakened WWF and kick them while they were down.

    Hottest female wrestler

Anything pleases you. Well, the point is that I like short women. Tall women are like something akin to a breath of fresh air. My adoration for shorties will never fade.

    Hottest female wrestler

Okay, I will start off by saying that I would like to mess around with Stacy just once because she's tall. I'm 6'6 and I've found over the years that a tall woman is nice to have every now and then. Plus she has a really nice ass. Speaking of nice asses, I like Molly's big ole booty. I used to find Stephanie to be sexy, but her personality turns me off. Blech. Now, onto my favorite. I hate to sound like a broken record here, but it's Trish. Now, I don't have a natural attraction to blondes, but Trish is an exception. For one, she is short, and I love short women. Secondly, she is thick. She has a nice thick yet tight body and that plump BUTT. Beautiful hips and waist. I like her skin tone. I like her smile. I like her hair. I like her eyes. I like her BUTT. Oh, I already mentioned that earlier. Her hands...I'm a hand man, and her hands are so nice. Another quality she has is the ability to be sexy or cute or both at the same time. Now, onto some pics: Yikes! Double yikes! That one displays her hips quite nicely. So cute. Another plus about Trish is that my g/f thinks she is cute, too, so she doesn't mind me drooling over her.

I'm not sure what to think of this

I dug up this old Nash interview from a week before Wrestlemania X7 on what is wrong with the business, among other things. The interview must be read, if for no other reason than a few laughs. Big Daddy Cool was Big Daddy Drunk at the time, it seems. I think he makes a great point here: Dave Richard: Is charisma more important than workrate? Kevin Nash: Absolutely. It's always been that way, look at Gorgeous George. There were guys back then that could work. George was one that, if you look back at that era, he was the shits. He had a gimmick. Pro wrestlers will always be pro wrestlers, but if workers got over there would be sell out houses in Iowa and Iowa State with a shoot f*ckin wrestling match. Nobody wants to see that shit. They want to see showbiz. And, as an incentive to read the interview, this snippet on internet writers is hilarious, and you can just imagine Nash saying it: Nash: I never said I was a great worker. I never said I was a match of the year guy. F*ck, people buy my shit. Sorry if you don't like me because you're f*ckin 5'5" and you don't get laid everyday. DR: If you wrote a column on the internet, what would your first one be about? Nash: P*ssy. I know more about that than anything else. EDIT: Here is the link to the interview: http://www.wrestleline.com/features/interv...01_120504.shtml

    HBK/Edge news from the Observer

Well, today Dave did some more speculating on Brock's rumored return, and he thinks it's probably unlikely. Not that I ever agree with more than 50% of what Dave speculates on, but... Today he had this in his update: "Michael Cole did an interview where he said Teddy Long would announce the 30th guy after the conclusion of the three-way title match." Now, considering the premature No Way Out ads featuring a Show/JBL cage match, my guess is that Show gets a Rumble spot and he and Cena do some kind of unclear elimination, so Show gets JBL at NWO and Cena gets JBL at Mania. That, or Kurt goes to the Rumble and he eliminates Cena or vice versa, and they wrestle at NWO. Or...we get a surprise, but I doubt it's Brock. But I could be wrong. We will find out in a few hours.

WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot

I don't think Hennig was a fit for the Wolfpack. They were all "cool" and he was just this badass technician kind of guy. You can stretch things a bit and see Konnan, Sting, Luger and Nash do hip hoppy stuff, but Hennig? No.

    Worst hometown announcement ever?

<<I read a book called wrestling superstars 2 that was pretty much all kayfabe stories (except that they mention vince mcmahon owns the wwf)>> I am holding that book in my hands right now. I got it when I was in 6th grade from those book sheets they hand out. I remember reading the Vince part and totally marking out. I came to school the next day bragging about how I knew Vince was the owner. This was in 1987/88, when wrestling was hot, so everyone was in awe. My favorite lines from the book: "Jim Neidhart used to be a truck driver, and he looks like one. No one ever offered him a job as a male model." The Vince part is pretty well written, considering the source material.
