I'm hoping that Sci-Fi Channel's new Masters of Science Fiction series will have a multiple-part story that depicts the actual events of the novel. I'm not one of those guys who bitch when movies aren't exactly like the novels that they're based on, but I mean Starship Troopers was way out of line.

Indeed. I also hope this new set is anamorphic widescreen. I wish everything was anamorphic widescreen, but it doesn't bother me too much if things aren't. People are bitching about the original Star War trilogy not being released in that format, but I am thrilled to have it on DVD period.

If reworked, it could, maybe, be a decent idea. Maybe if ONE wrestler were an agent, because I can't plausibly see professional wrestlers being able to keep a secret like that. Then again, I may be overanalyzing this and it's probably intended to be cheesy, a theory that the cover of the novel does much to support.

The set came and my son and I have watched all the way through "Paradise Lost," which I remembering seeing in full back when it originally aired. It's a fine show. In the small snippets that I have seen the show, I had never picked up on some of the sexual innuendo. Good stuff. Nice list of guest voices, too.

Dude, the Marvel series was damn near entirely written by Larry Hama, the dude who created The Real American Hero version of G.I.Joe. He created the entire original 12 Joes. He created Cobra Commander, Destro, The Baroness, The Dreadnoks, and TONS of other shit in the book that eventually showed up on the cartoons and/or in the toy line. The Devil's due series just picks up where Hama left off, and they even got him to come in and write for them. Go here Like I said, everyone should pick up that prequel miniseries. It's called "Declassified."

That continuity -- according to most GI Joe fans -- is trumped by the Marvel comics. Larry Hama recently said in an interview that Cobra La doesn't count. Don't even think about DIC. I would suggest to anyone to pick up the collected editions of the old Marvel comic. Speaking of GI Joe and Hama, there is currently a prequel miniseries coming out written by him. I got the first issue (with a retro Snake-Eyes action figure art cover!) It is excellent stuff.

GI Joe: The Movie was awful. I've read that several people on the project were wincing as they went in, but the PTB went ahead with the "Cobra La" angle. The only thing worse than the movie was the DIC animated series. I never saw GI Joe Extreme (Sgt. Savage), so I can't comment.

Let's say that TSM/Pit is a country, and we make up the citizenry. Who do we respect enough to vote for? Should we proceed, here are the rules: I. Nominations A. I saw it last night and didn't like it. It isn't because of any of the usual reasons that have been listed everywhere. It's just that the movie was...well, boring. Vyce was right in saying that the end dragged on and on. It wasn't a satisfying climax. The kryptonite thing didn't make sense. Luthor's nefarious plan was a bit too nefarious in its effects. I don't know. I went in giving it every chance, but it just didn't do anything for me.
