Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. "Communication disruption can only mean one thing: invasion." Mike: That, or you're a Verizon customer.
  2. Hogan and Okerlund in preparation for their match with Fuji and Steele. And good pick, RepoMan. When is THAT coming to DVD?

    Being a little bitch

Oh, when it comes to TV shows, when Marcus gave his life to save Susan's on Babylon 5 ("Endgame"). It was beautiful because they had so much potential as a couple, but he knew one of them had to die, and he loved her so much that he decided that he would be the one to die. And of course, the last episode, "Sleeping in Light."

Teenagers: "Oh, yeah, he's a Kennedy." "Paging Mr. Herman." "You know, you won't see costuming like this 'til Marc Singer does V." "Eh, turn Rush Limbaugh off." "Star Trek fight music." (LOL) "Now, I like ya, Trevor, but you're screwy, you got it? I'm the fella wearing the Rosco, see?" "Moses? Moses!" "It's the new zoo revue, coming right at you..." "I recommend the Sea Breeze astringent." I use Wal-Mart's generic Equate brand of Sea Breeze. What a great episode.

JLU Season 3 starts September 17th

DDDVD must be backed up with that sale. This is the longest they've ever taken to get my order to me. The e-mail that they sent me says that even though JL S1 is on back order, they will ship the rest of my order separately.

JLU Season 3 starts September 17th

I am not sure what you mean. The had a couple of small DVD's released with 3 episodes on them but you may as well wait until they release the season sets. Yes, that is what I was referring to; they had a big Superman display at Wal-Mart. I brought it up because I thought somebody had posted that JLU would not be released on DVD in season sets.

    Strange food combinations you like

Ever go to an old style burger stand that puts Thousand Island dressing on their burgers? I believe McDonald's puts it on their Big Macs, as well, but I never order those, so I can't say for sure.

I believe it was Mike who was quoted as saying that Manos wasn't as great as it's made out to be. I think a lot of the problems that people have with some eps is that they don't "get" some of the riffing. Like a look-alike will appear on camera and Joel will cry out "Annete Funicello!" or something and none of the kids know who Ms. Funicello or whoever is. One ep that I have never been able to sit through is The Unearthly. I haven't tried to lately, though. Some of my favorite eps are: Mitchell Eegah Cave Dwellers (pecs like melons and knees of fringe!) Pod People Teenagers from Outer Space (Torture!) The Final Sacrifice Final Justice (Go 'head on!) Devil Fish Time Chasers Bah...there are so many.

    KFC Chicken Bowl

No, not meaning PepsiCo. They aren't owned by the same company. Yum! owns KFC, Taco Bell, A&W, Pizza Hut, and Long John Silvers. For a while, Tricon owned KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell, while Yorkshire Restaurants owned LJS and A&W. Tricon merged the two companies to one - that being Yum~!. You gotta love their slogan "By ourselves we're delicious, but together we're Yum!" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yum%21_Brands%2C_Inc. Tricon was part of Pepsi, but Yum is not. Tricon was spun off and then went through a name change, so technically, Yum! was a part of PepsiCo. Yum! is my biggest customer, and let me tell you, the execs are WEIRD. There's this guy who comes to inspect the plant; he looks and dresses like someone straight out of The Matrix.

STAR TREK 11 to be written by JJ Abrams

Bryce Zabel has released his and J. Michael Straczynski's shot down treatment for a new Star Trek series. http://bztv.typepad.com/newsviews/2006/06/...d_out_star.html Here is the PDF file: http://bztv.typepad.com/newsviews/files/ST2004Reboot.pdf I read it and here are my thoughts: If you've ever seen the TNG episode "The Chase," JMS's treatment is just a stretched out version of it, with a reimagined Kirk & crew on the chase in the place of Picard. The treatment talks about a reboot, but going back to the old -- with however "clever" an arc device installed -- isn't what will turn things around. It's obvious that they drew a lot of inspiration from BSG, and that's exactly how this "reboot" would appear. Star Trek has always been successful when they shake up the format. The Voyage Home and First Contact kicked ass at the box office because they forewent the old "bad guy of the year" formula and changed up the format, adding comedy (TVH) and horror/thriller aspects (FC). DS9 did well in the ratings considering that the buffoons at Paramount debuted it during TNG's sixth season (crossover opportunities missed, to boot) and started Voyager in the midst of its third, and then wondered why a show with superior acting and storytelling didn't do as well in the ratings. No, this idea for a reboot would not work. Things need to shaken up, yes, but shaken up for real. I came up with an awesome idea to do so, but Paramount would never do it. __________________

The thing with YouTube is that I can stomach watching a few funny clips, but I can't sit through an entire MST3K episode at the computer. Here's to hoping that they release more and more episodes on DVD.

    Star Trek Novels

A good 99% of ST novels are garbage, but there are some gems in there, such as The Final Reflection and My Enemy, My Ally, which, not coincidentally, are not about the main characters. Shocking that the authors wrote better when they didn't have so many constraints. There was a set of guidelines for ST novel submissions, the core of which was "don't do anything to change the characters."
