I'm hoping that "This match rules" will catch on as a chant.

The more I think about it, the more I hate the fact that Austin was there. I guess he felt he'd been away too long and needed the rub more then the ECW guys did.

Funny, on the way back from the theatre I turned to Rudo and said "The ending did not feel like ECW." This felt like I was watching WWE trying to recreate the magic of ECW (which it was). "Nicer equipment" = WWE-ized editing and cuts.

The match wasn't really "acceptable" or "passable" or even "decent." It wasn't "good". What does that leave us with? Bad.

For anybody who think's I'm hating, I'm not. It was a really fun show but not even the show it could've/should've been.

So, yeah, thoughts and stuff. The Good - Balcony moonsaults are fun. - TANAKA VS AWESOME. FUCK. I thought Tanaka was dead as dead could be when they did the reverse powerbomb spot off the top rope. *This* close to being impaled on a table leg. I demand that Tanaka be brought in as a part of JBL's Cabinet as Minister of Foreign Relations. - Enter Sandman. - Jericho's Tiger Suplex on Storm. Jerico's vest and tights were choice too. - CATFIGHT~! - Heyman blowing the roof off the place. The Bad - Rey/Nicho was pretty whatever, aside from the dirty guillotine legdrop across the railing and the sweet 'rana at the end. - The aforementioned Benoit/Eddy shittiness. - No Raven. - Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much WWE involvement. The editing was straight out of a WWE show and they were devoting time to the Smackdown guys when THEY HADN'T EVEN SHOWN UP YET. - Austin putting himself over the entire group of WWE guys in the balcony and ordering everybody in the ring around.

It was not fucking BAD. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, it was. Nothing stood out. NOTHING.

I'm not sure if people are blind or just being pussies, but I'll say it: Benoit vs Guerrero was fucking BAD.

So, who jobs in Benoit vs Eddy? A No Contest or DQ ruling would piss the crowd off to no end so somebody is jobbing in this one. Thing is, neither guy can afford to lose. Rey costing Eddy the match seems to be the most likely finish.

Unless Vince, Kevin Dunn or somebody else high-up comes out in front of the crowd to take the shots, those bitches are going down.

A question to all of those people who think that WWE will let Benoit, Eddy, Rey et al. go "all out": Why would the WWE allow the best possible wrestling to occur on one of the least-promoted shows of all-time?

I wouldn't even put myself as "cautiously optimistic" for this one. I'm being neutral so that way if it sucks I'm not let down and if it ends up being good I'll be pleasently surprised.

No way in hell I'm buying into the concept of letting the workers go out there and just go for the throat. It'd bury the rest of the federation and expose well over 75% of the roster. As much as Vince has a "vested interest" in ECW, the needs of the many (looking competent) outweight the needs of the few (nostalgia inspiring good matches).

Good stuff. I really dug the story of RZA telling about their craziest live show ever. "Then I see this nigga running across the stage shooting up the celing. And by 'this nigga' I mean ODB."

What a goddamn rebel. He must've gotten his ass kicked on a pretty consistent basis when he was young.

Like people have said before, it's a credit to the man that all he has to do is stand up and take off the sunglasses to pop the fuck out of the crowd. It's a mark of a good character when certain things are imprinted in the fans mind. Did he ever officially retire?

Me and Rudo are checking out a 1Warrior Wrestling show in Oshawa, ON on the 26th and the ME is Joe vs Raven w/ Foley (~!) as guest ref. We got the VIP package which includes a backstage meet and greet and photo session. I'm tempted to ask Joe about the rumours but I'm scared about the result of what could happen if I piss him off. Card looks halfway decent too. American Dragon, Kid Kash, Gail Kim, The New Church, Chris Sabin and Team Canada are all working it. Should be a farkin blast.

I'm hoping for dirt. He caps it all off by revealing that HHH and Steph occasionally "switch roles" in the bedroom and runs off through the crowd while security chases him, all the while doing the RVD thumb-pointing.

Juventud "El Christo" Guerrera. I'm sure that Mordecai's costume is still lying around backstage somewhere. Just modify it to fit Juvi.

I remember when that level of markdom was alive and well in me. BTW, RVD didn't even cause a blip on the radar of top ten workers from 1997-2000, regardless of weight class.

This whole "female" gimmick is intriguing.
