    Raw 9/6/04

3 WrestleMania Main Events that could've delivered more then the triple threat had Benoit stayed on SD: - Benoit vs Brock - Benoit vs Eddy - Benoit vs Angle (An "I Quit" match would've worked perfectly here).

    Is it just me?

It's happening with all the kids these days. I blame the intern..............oh.

    ecw rise and fall dvd

I love ECW. First live wrestling show I've ever seen and one of the best times at a public sporting/art event I'll ever have in my life. But man on man they could've picked better stuff for that DVD. I was watching Tajiri/Psiocosis from my Deep Impact DVD the other night and that match smokes every single thing that is on this one.

    OAO SmackDown! Thread - September 2, 2004

SPOILERS FOR THE WEST COASTERS I'd actually rate this match above the WrestleMania match simply because there weren't so many slow transitions and more was done with the match, more specifically, the submssions. Still below their SS encounter, IMO. The comedy spots were well done for what they were and Eddy kicking Kurt flush in the dick was fantastic. Eddy was smooth tonight, the Angle Slam reversals all looked good and he whipped out a headscissors which I haven't seen him use in a while (though I don't always watch SD and never buy their PPV's.) Eddy pulling Hebner that inch or two forward to get him in front of Angle was a brilliant move on the part of Eddy and further hammered home the fact that Eddy will, at all times do whatever it takes to win. These actions were further reciprocated by the crowd who were HOT for the this-close-to-dq atmosphere created when Hebner woke to find Angle with the chair. They wanted to see Eddy get vengence stemming from the earlier dq on the aforementioned dick kick. The ending is not so great as it's basically not so much a blowoff for Eddy/Angle as it is a startup for Eddy/Reigns. Though Angle was fucking Godly when he cinched in Anklelock 2K3 on Eddy, the way his legs were crossed and hooked gave a feeling of no escape for Eddy. Eddy/Luther might actually be good but it's shit that it had to happen at the expense of a faux-blowoff. And Luther is definetly going to get over if Eddy sells all his moves like he did that one.

    The Killers...

Agreed. I saw that band perform here at a high-school show when they were called "Pez". Sucked then, suck now. And they also have the honourable distinction of having one of the worst fanbases in music currently.

    The Amazing Race 5 Returns

I respect Colin's drive and focus and him and Christie are still my pick to win it all, but they guy's got problems. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if him and Christie have been involved in some "domestic disputes" when Colin's been drinking too much.

DOOD. I saw Emily Haynes from Metric make out with another female from Broken Social Scene last Friday. Fucking poetry.

    Daredevil Director's Cut

So, will Kingpin actually die in this one? Because that's the only thing that could ever save that piece of shit film.

Said poster made a point that the ending was too abstract. I spelled out the ending of the film, minus the jumping off the mountain which made total sense in the context of the film. If they hadn't generalized the whole ending (which they did) I could've just saved some time and explained the mountain thing. Black Cloud told Jen the story about the boy who jumped off the mountain and his wish was fulfilled. Jen tells Black Cloud to make a wish because she is willing to go to the ends of the earth for Black Cloud to give back the love he has waited so long to give to her. But hey, maybe I'm just reading into it a bit. And be careful with those "jackass" insults.........just because I post on the internet doesn't mean I don't have feelings like you. *sniff*.

    Regarding your favorite bands.........

We've all had moments in one way or another in which we realize that a certain artist or band will be a serious favorite. This question is in my mind tonight because it happened to me a few hours ago. Broken Social Scene at the Toronto Harbourfront. A free show that was presented on behalf a local culture mag. I went in as fans of the band, knowing that the show would be good. I had no idea what I was in store for. I came out of this show knowing with 100% certainty that this was the single best live performance I have ever seen in my 21 years. I feel bad for guys like Interpol and Radiohead whose shows I loved but could not in any way compare with the energy, passion and fun that this 14-person collective jammed into 2 hours and 15 minutes. The crowd was easily over 3000 w/ the backdrop of Lake Ontario and a clear night sky. Perfect setting for a perfect show. After running through almost the entire 13-song set from You Forgot It In People they also played some tunes off the more recent Beehives and a few new songs too. I've never seen so many people onstage at the same time playing something or doing something, even if it's as simple as shaking a rattle or providing some background vocals. The fact that these 14 people played as tight as they did is incredible. Whether it was leading the crowd in claps for songs or dancing up a storm (which a good portion of the crowd including yours truly did) they owned it. Plus I got to see me a free lesbian show courtesty of the two female singers which was uber-hot. They capped the night off with a 13-minute song which included a very emotional lead singer Kevin Drew telling the crowd "We are Broken Social Scene and we are not broken", putting to rest a few months worth of rumours that they were breaking up. So, tonight I had a moment, one that I knew in which my fate was sealed and that I would become a fan of this band forever. What's yours?

Are you shitting me? The ending of CTHD was too abstract to the point of being silly? Let's take it from the top here, ok? I'm going slow so you can follow along. 1) Li Mu Bai (Chow Yun Fat) realizes that the Governers daughter is working with Jade Fox from within the household and they're trying to steal the Green Destiny Sword. 2) Li Mu Bai and Shu Lien (Michelle Yeoh) track Jade Fox and the daughter to Jade Fox's hideout. 3) Li Mu Bai engages in battle with the woman who killed his master. He defeats her easily but she is still able to land one simple, fatal blow. 4) Li Mu Bai fulfills his destiny and passes on to be with his master. Yeah, smell the abstract. Crouching Tiger smoked Hero in every single aspect of film.

SO. VERY. DISSAPOINTED. I'll post a full review later on, me and Rudo might whip out an RCI Presents on this one but this movie isn't even fit to lick the sweat from Crouching Tiger's Hidden Ballsack, despite them ripping off CTHD at all points.

    A question for all

Since the inception of cd burning to this day, do you burn less, more or the same amount of music? (Or maybe you never burned anything in the first place). For me it has been less over the last year or so.

    Evolution Double Turn?

I'll go one step further: HHH as a face is a fucking horrible idea.

    Since it's DVD Tuesday...

I'm waiting for the scene between Jesus and Mary Magdalene that was too hot for theatres.

Zero special features. Nada. Zip. Just the movie in wide or fullscreen format.

The OAO Raw Thread for 08/30/04

Considering that Batista was yelling "Dont you do it!" at Orton I'd say that's a pretty good assesment.
  21. Lord of The Curry

    Make a statement

Yeah, but the thing is: HHH never lost the title.

    Evolution Double Turn?

Survivor Series will be an interesting PPV for the WWE in terms of booking, at least for RAW, as there is a number of issues/storylines that could be done there. If they wanted to go the 5 on 5 route they could work in...... Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, Shawn Michaels and William Regal or Eugene vs HHH, Batista, Ric Flair, Kane and ? This match itself could be the one where we unveil a new Evolution member. I could see them putting Edge on the face side (if he's back) and then have him turn and join Evo. Ditto for a guy like Benjamin, who IMO is the best possible candidate at this point. If they wanted to work an EC they could do....... Randy Orton vs HHH vs Chris Benoit vs Shawn Michaels vs Batista vs Chris Jericho. This all hinges on whether or not Orton loses to HHH at Unforgiven.

    Is Carmella a marked woman?

The finals will be down to Christy vs Carmella, if it's as worked as it appears. Carmella (if the WWE decides to sign her) could be brought in immediatly as a heel whereas Christy has a good, firey face-type character if the WWE chose to sign her on if she won.
  24. Lord of The Curry

    Make a statement

Statement: Chris Benoit's reign as a world champion will be an afterthought by years end once the Orton vs Evo feud is kicked into full gear.
