I don't understand why people think Benoit will retain over HHH at SummerSlam.

On Raw he got a hell of a lot of crowd response. How's he like the original character? He's had virtually no real character development except for that spear on Bisch that went nowhere, and his promos have been completely generic. They just stripped him of the main things that made him popular before, and didn't replace them with anything. I'm not trying to prove you wrong or anything, because I never called for a serious Edge. Frankly, he's a midcarder for life in my eyes. I just don't get what you're supposed to be trying to prove here. He's been directionless and he's, at best, the 5th top face on Raw? Why they didn't just leave him on Smackdown I don't understand. He's a non-factor on Raw and SD needed him a hell of a lot more. IIRC one the major factors for moving him to RAW was to start a program with HHH. That sure went places.

Heel Edge is the program to go with right now. This is his chance to step up and prove his worth.

I'm still waiting to find out why Edge speared Bischoff.

So by that same rationale, Canadians that get all upset about him changing his residence don't 'deserve' to be cheering for him either since they obviously only seem to care that he comes from the same country they do. Hell, when you've got a hoard of Quebeckers cheering on Sylvain F'N Grenier, I have to worry about all of the Canucks. An American being born in another country? What like on an army base? Quebecers are a totally different breed of Canadian, don't lump the rest of the country in with them. My point was that hometowns should not dictate the way a wrestler is cheered. I care that Benoits heritage is properly represented. Fook- I'm pretty sure on RAW that I heard J.R say that Conway was from Quebec. Gail Kim is now being announced from Korea.

That's a really good idea, Matt. Edge is one of the most famous tag-team wrestlers in the history of the company and a comment by Benoit that sets him off would work well, IMO. Edge saying "Now I'm focusing exclusively on your title" is money.

I'm editing my original post because it didn't make much sense. I agree with what you've said. Ever since the "angry" Edge has appeared any and all momentum he had wrestling-wise has been gone. He's the weak link in the majority of tag matches and his work in singles against Orton left much to be desired (when Orton is outperforming you, there's an issue). Face Edge during the SD Six Era was either really good or really poor (not bad, just poor, as in working below his level). He managed to keep pace w/ Benoit, Eddy and Angle and he did well for himself but his spotty selling and shitty offense held hiim back. If they're going w/ the heel turn on Benoit (which they should), he should change his name to Adam Copeland. Edge is his gimmick name. Adam Copeland should be his wrestling name. Give him a good finisher (he can keep the spear but use it less often) and put him in a feud that means something. I can definetly see an Edge vs Benjamin feud for the IC TItle in the works if Benjy goes over Orton.

After what I sat through last night, I can assure you that Smackdown has more then it's fair share of guys who work crappy headlocks and heat spots.

Benoit is Canadian. He should be billed as coming from Canada. It's really that simple. If fans are going to boo him because he's Canadian then fuck them because they don't deserve to cheer for him. Name me the last time an American that was born in another country was announced as being from there.

Rey was still the crowd favorite, though Dupree did a surprisingly big pop. Our section was marking out for THE DANCE and there were some scattered "Fifi" chants going on. Question: Dupree, Conway, Grenier. All heels. All French. Yet Dupree carries the French flag whereas Grenier and Conway rock the Quebec flag. What's the deal w/ that?

That match rules simply for the fact that Jericho tells Benoit "Come on motherfucker!" and Benoit gives him this look that says "Oh, I'm fucking this guy up real good now". Jericho almost killing himself on his inside-outside moonsault is fun too.

FUCKING. STOKED. This DVD set is gonna be all fucking kinds of awesome, I can 100% truthfully say that I am not dissapointed in the least. I've yet to see the Owen Tribute match, ditto for the Eddy match on Nitro. I recally Regal vs Benoit being really badass but I only watched it a few times on a dl'd copy off Kazaa. And yeah. Lyger and Sasuke on DVD. Fucks yes.

Toronto fans will shit all fucking over that match if it takes place. Eddy vs RVD Eddy vs Undertaker Eddy vs Booker Eddy vs Rey Eddy vs Cena There WWE, I just gave you 5 better matches then Eddy vs Jindrak. Run with it.

I figure that they have all the singers totally segregated from each other and they aren't allowed to watch each others performances. You can lie to a contestant and say they're great but if they saw how bad the other performances were they'd be onto the joke in a second.
