Shockingly good rendition of the thought process one goes through when reading your bilge. Kudos. -=Mike How long have you been waiting to pull off that doozy of a line? -

I meant the "Punch Kick Punch Kick Submission Kick Finisher" style of the WWE. Why shouldn't his backstage attitude influence the final decison? Why shouldn't they play a factor? -

1) Michaels body of work involves wrestling one style and not doing it as well as people would like to think. 2) Michaels (along with Nash) almost bankrupted the company during his run as champion. 3) Michaels political maneuvering and refusal to jobbing should also be taken into consideration IMO, even if it isn't. Those three strikes should have been enough that he never got in. -

Unforgiven 2000, Royal Rumble 2001. Angle carries HHH. Watch the matches if you want the proof. -

Anderson was never a big draw and was never solidified as a main event guy. Good/great wrestler, great mind for the business but his body of work doesn't warrant an entry. Sting was a (IIRC) decent to good drawing champ in WCW, very charasmatic and very over with the fans. BUT, the guy doesn't have the body of work needed and most of his stuff involves him being carried by somebody. I'm sure Backlund will get in eventually but nobody cares enough to notice. Taker is a shoe-in, it just wasn't his year. Very close, though. Eddy G is probably the biggest debate on the whole list. He certainly has some strikes against him, the biggest ones being that he never main evented (except in AAA) and was never a draw. I don't know how big of a factor things like drugs and booze play into it, but if they do, that's another strike against him. On the other hand, IMO only Benoit and a few AJPW fellas have been better in the ring then him in the last 10 years. -

HHH probably got on the ballot due to his 2000/01 run which is one of the most overrated runs in history. I guess being carried by Austin, Foley, Rock, Benoit, Jericho and Angle is key to being a great wrestler. -

Because Meltzer is all up on Angle's jock and think's he could be the best of all time. Silly Dave. -
Let's not forget the rocket-buster of a debut the tag titles had. Benoit and Angle beat Edge and Rey in the MOTY at No Mercy and the future looks good. Benoit and Angle job the titles to Edge and Rey in their first defense two weeks later. Rey and Edge job the title to Los Guerrero's in their first defense two weeks later. Good job on building it up, Vince.

Your eye for talent has a patch over it, skippy. Kobashi, Kawada, Misawa, Benoit, Guerrero, Hart, Mysterio...........all better then HBK in 98. And yes, his backstage antics should have some bearing on his voting status, but it obviously didn't. The guy was a glorified cruiserweight and one of the worst drawing champs in WWF/E history. -

Did you mention to Cena that he's the future of the business? Because apparently he is. Bubba was nice? From everything I've read and what not he's the King Prick of the wrestling kingdom. -
Please remove his cock from your mouth. The guy's a fuckass.

Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of The Ring. I went out of the theater after seeing it with a feeling that I'd just seen the best movie of all time and no other film I've seen yet has convinced me otherwise. We'll see what happens when Return of the King comes out........ Honourable Mentions: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon Forrest Gump LOTR: The Two Towers The Pianist Spirited Away Platoon Braveheart

I don't normally do this shit but I'm bored so what the fuck....... Elimination Chamber **. Unless the match begins and ends with Goldberg squashing the fuck out of everybody and pinning HHH to win the title, the match is worthless. This is the kind of environment that is suitable to Goldie, as it plays to his strengths. Keep him in there for short periods of time and have Jericho, Michaels and Orton bump like freaks for him. On the other hand, I can't see him going over Nash, HBK and HHH in the same match. My pick: Goldberg, via Jackhammer over Jericho. Lesnar vs Angle ***3/4. Their Mania match was nowhere near at the level it could have (and should have) been and the involvement of Vince just shoots this all to hell. They booked themself into a corner with this match and there is no possible way that either Brock or Angle can come out of this looking better then when they entered. If Angle jobs the title after a month, he's fucked. If Brock gets jobbed out to Angle two PPV's in a row, he's fucked. I'm waiting for Vince to announce that he's making it a 3 way with him being the third man and pins both Brock and Angle to win. My pick: Brock w/ help from Satan. Kane vs RVD. ***. RVD gets his licks in and pulls off some cool stuff. Kane looks angry. Good crowd heat. My pick: Kane, who goes on to feud w/ Goldberg. Undertaker vs A-Train **3/4. Better then you'd think. Taker obviously digs A-Train and wants to make him big but unfortunately for A-Train he put in his requisite job a few weeks ago against Cena so expect The Dead Man to go over in this one. My pick: Taker. Benoit vs Tajiri vs Eddy vs Rhyno ****. This one is either going to be a kick-ass match or a total clusterfuck. Each guy has his own unique steelo to bring to the match. Eddy has the rudo steez, Tajiri brings the kicks, Rhyno brings the angry and Benoit brings the really really angry intensity/godliness. My pick: Eddy, who goes on to feud with a soon-to-turn-face John Cena. Benoit (hopefully) will move onto the Lesnar feud. Shane vs E-Z E. **. Whateverthefuckever. Austin gets involved and Shane dies for our pleasure. My pick: Shane w/ some help from Austin. Dudleyz vs La Res. **. Vanilla match with good crowd heat because of the anti-Frog dealy. La Res picks up the win after that soldier fella interferes. Expect a 6 Man tag at Unforgiven w/ Spike and soldier fella. Matt Hardy vs Zack Gowen. **1/2. Matt tries his hardest to make Randy Capable look like an actual wrestler but can't quite make it. My pick: Matt, via C2W.

Low Ki: Capable worker or liability?

Mirko "Crocop" Filipovic 6'2" 213 lbs. vs. Bob "The Beast" Sapp 6'3" 350 lbs. Mirko's not a lightweight but thats almost 150 pound difference. Anyone remember the result of that fight? *sound of glass shattering* That would be Sapp's jaw. -
So........how long until Jamie gets screwed over in some fashion in her hometown?

Anybody who DOESN'T think that Flair is one of the most overrated of all time seriously needs to check themself. Since when did wrestling the same match for 30 years qualify one as the best?
-
So, how about that Benoit DVD? Can't wait for that one to come out! Or Eddy! Yeah, those would rock! But they're nothing compared to Trish.
-
For the 90's I'd go with Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. I know it got love, sometimes a lot of love. That still wasn't enough love. That movie is flat-out one of the best ever.

Benoit is the only North American with a shot at being on the list. It's basically him, Jumbo, Misawa, Kawada and Kobashi that have a shot at winning it, based on overall criteria. Somebody should dig up a Gordy List on some of these dudes. Me? I gots to go with Benoit.
