That's actually a great, accurate description. The announcers (and the ring announcer guy) were way over the top on everything and sucked, of course. Not that this show is to be taken seriously, but the announcers make sure you wouldn't.

This, actually, is quite good. Would have made a ton of sense (if they hadn't started the whole respect thing/ you protect me and I'll protect you) actually. That would have really amped up this rivalry, and possibly bring some WWE fans over....And i think Vince would have to respond in some way if Angle were involved.

You gotta love TNA always promoting themselves as "the alternative" for what, 4 yrs now, but can't seem to help promote WWE cast-offs as the main event stars of their company (outside of Samoa Joe) and mention WWE with this VKM stuff. TNA really looks like a poor, poor man's version of WCW...when it was dying (when Russo was doing the writing). I see a connection here.... But i do have to say it is intriguing to see what's coming next in the VKM angle, even if I know there is no pay-off. Not enough to buy any of TNAs PPVs or anything, but enough to TIVO impact. Now obviously, Vince/DX aren't going to respond to this, but for fun, how does one imagine an in-ring promo by DX/Vince replying directly or indirectly to the VKM going down.

SD main evented the Rumble PPV. The Rumble Match itself was the ME. So no.. No. Henry and Angle main evented. Undertaker came out and blew the ring up. Mysterio won in the mid-card. I distinctly remember Undertaker coming out with a white horse and blowing it (the ring, that is) up.

You know, having Joe vs. Angle right away was the dumbest thing TNA could have possibly done. Really smart/easy booking that would have been great is have Joe win the the title/continue his winning streak to the in the Dec. or Jan. PPV, and have tease angle vs. Joe throughout starting with the head-BUTT like they did when Angle first got there to when they eventually met a 10-12 months later. The best feuds are the ones the fans really want but keep getting teased about for a prolonged period of time, thus heightening the anticipation. Taz vs. Sabu in the old ECW was the perfect example of this. Even Batista, with the slow teasing of him against Evolution was what made him a star (though that's faded since that feud). TNA really needs to learn how to develop long feuds instead of having blow-offs right away. I guess they're doing that with Rhino and Christian, but that's not really working. Man, If Heyman was writing TNA, it'd be so much better.

Count me in as one who'll gladly throw down whatever for a DVD of WCCW/the Vonerichs. That was a fgreat frederation, esp. with the 6 man tags of the Von Erichs vs. the freebirds. They ahve to have the Kerry Von Erich vs. Ric FLair David Von Erich memorial match where Kerry wins the title. Really emotional event for anyone who remembers it at the time.

Honestly, one hour only works if it's not live, like ECW on TNN. What they should do is tape the show (1 or 2 hr), and keep it in small venues, as opposed to in front of the smackdown crowd. I know, its been said a billion times before, but its true. It doesn;t need to be the same old ECW as before in regards to content (old ecw wrestlers/storylines) but it does need the same type of atmosphere (small, rabid crowds with the focus not on lighting/production, etc.) Seriously, the 7/4 Philadelphia + Batista/Big Show hammerstein event show wasn't even good, but i was psyched to watch next week because how rabid the crowd appeared on the TV, even though they were chanting essentially against the product. My theory is the old ECW fans (like me) will still come and allow the product to improve overtime if the feel of being at an event/watching on TV and ECW style event can be made. I don't know in terms of dollars how much this costs Vince and WWE by having ECW only TV shows, but if you tape (not live) with poor lighting/camera production such as ECW on TNN at venues they're already running for house shows (like Glens Falls, Poughkeepsie, whatever) it WOULD WORK. And if you only have an hour, it would be much easier to fit stuff into 1hr if taped, and still get everything you need into it without seeming rushed. Heck, take tapings from house shows during the week and splice it into a 1hr show every week. (Better with 2 hrs though).

I know the live crowd would never go for it, but I'd love to see Finley vs. Regal as the headliner of a smackdown PPV. All their matches are great, and need little to no storyline. Probably a bad business decision for WWE, but i'd actually buy that PPV if I knew they'd go at least 15-20 minutes. Also, they should eventually make-up and take the tag belts off London + Kendrick and stay apart of Booker's Royal Court.

Man, the worst thing I think I ever saw as a wrestling storyline wasn't Katie Vick, but rather the build-up to the HHH - Booker T championship match at Wrestlemania, with HHH implying that "Booker's Kind" (ie, African-Americans for those who forgot) were below him, then have HHH go over CLEANLY. Really, if I were African-American, I would have stopped watching wrestling period after that day. I stopped for like 3 months after that mania. Katie Vick was just stupid as a storyline, that HHH_Booker T storyline with that ending was just...I don't even know how to describe it. MAybe if it led to Ron Simmons taking the title off of HHH....

First of all, don't do the show live anymore. If you only have an hour, make sure you're mostly just having matches in the 40 minutes you actually have without commercials. ECW on TNN actually worked as a show because it was taped and didn't need "segues" or Kelly stripping to introduce a new wrestler. Granted, ECW had a strong fan-base by the time they went to network TV, but the way it was presented in the 1 hr TNN show, even a newbie could figure who guys were/what factions they were apart quite quicklyand not waste time better used for wrestling or SHORT great promos. Seriously, the major problem I think with Smackdown is that is a 2 hr show that is taped (which is too long and thus needs filler) and ECW is live, which doesn'ty work in an hour show. Show crisp wrestling that is taped/edited if you only have an hour to draw me in, not slow boring stuff like with Test and Knox. Sandman skits, while short, still take too much time in a 1 hr show with 15 minutes of commercials. Now is the time, given RVD's suspension (which, while RVD is my favorite wrestler, just goes to show why you can't give the ball to a pot-head, like when Chapelle was signed to his mega-deal and then freaked out; too much responsibility for a pot-head always ends disastrously), have to push CM PUNK; forget the F*ck about Test and Knox (big slow guys...and Big show) for now.

I agree mostly with this post; however, this would be agreat time to really put CM PUNK on TV and elevate himthe sooner the better (given RVD's and Sabu's current troubles).

Anyone know if you have tickets for the Smackdown in Trenton or Albany, do those also mean you get to see the ECW show scheduled for those nights? Or do youhave to buy other tickets?

That poster looks shit and why are they spoiling the surprises, it sucks. Probably because they want people to actually BUY the PPV. Anyways, it's funny how they DX logo totally obscures edge's face.

A little off topic, I suppose, but they HAVE to have RVD come out to "Walk" by Pantera instead of the crappy WWE theme he has. Visually, it would be tremendous on TV and if they paid big bucks for Undertaker coming out to multiple Limp Bizkit songs when they were at their hottest, they surely can spend a little money to play a song by a band that's been defunct for 4 or 5 years. A little point, but it would go a long way in my opinion.

You are 100% correct, he said he wasn't putting MITB on the line and that he would give Shelton until next week to answer... It probably will end up being for both things for "Why the hell would they bring it up in the 1st place if they didn't end up doing it?" type of reasons... This probably won't happen, but it would be a hell of a plan to have RVD win the IC belt, have him win the WWE title at ECW, and throw both belts in the garbage and declare himself as the ECW champion.... That sets up all kinds of crazy stories for the next few months... That would be awesome, with history repeating itself....however, it wouldn't happen, as there just aren't enough ECW guys around to run a separate promotion for any length of time(and it'd probably be a bastardized version anyways). It would set up an interesting dynamic in terms of RVD's persona though: the renegade champ . He or some other person should really bring back a Tazz /FTW champion sort of thing that's only recognized by the person wearing it, but somehow becomes important that other people want it (kind of like the million dollar belt). That's just gold there.

Who plays the "Psycho" part better. Mickie or VIctoria in her first incarnation? Psycho girls are the only characters that make the women's division worth watching.

A couple of thoughts: The really screwed up the push the "new guys" seemed to be getting at NYR with Carlito and Masters getting squashed. Yeah, now they're going to feud probabaly, but after being booked so strong in the elimination chamber, they just lost everything they gained. Damn WWe writers. Really, at where do big Show and Kane go from here; makes no sense to have kept the titles on them. Mickie-Trish really had the crowd going; too bad the stratusfaction be Mickie got botched so horribly. Angle once again (just like in the elimination chamber) is the most dominant wrestler in the a multi-person match but loses. Actually ended up liking the fact the WWE tried to make the "main event" really a big thing with special entrances for Cena and HHH, even if it was somewhat silly. Think they should do this sort of thing for ever WM main event.

Best move of the night wasn't even caught really on live or doing the instant replay; Shelton's jump from the rope to the ladder. Really pisses me off that, knowing that that is an amazing athletic feet, didn't even bother to have the cameramen in the right place.

Wow this is confusing. I actually hope HHH wins it soon so RVD can beat him for the title. RVD winning the title won't be gratifying unless it's against HHH. The fans have turned on Cena (including me), but I give the Vince credit for giving me the one unpredictable result I wouldn't have guessed; Cena winning and not turning heel (just turning to the mob)

I can't believe HHH did a Conan the Barbarian thing....Cool but ridiculous...only the son-in-law of the boss could get away with this.
