What was your favorite moment from

Without a doubt, seeing Joey Styles getting choked up when he first came out was the highlight for me because right then I knew this was a real ECW PPV and the emotion was not going to be faked on any level. Second, wasn't definitely seeing Beulah. I only had three complaints about the whole show: 1. Not using "Walk" for RVD's entrance. I don't understand how they couldn't use it for the PPV and just edit off the DVD (I mean ECW did that all the time during their PPVs and I'm sure they didn't pay royalities; do you even have to pay royalties if you don't use it on a DVD?) The image of everyone doing the RVD gestures during walk was a sight to behold back in the day. 2. Taz not locking in the kat hajime in the middle of the ring on angle. Taz was definitely the focus of the ECW vs WWE fight at the end, but after his entrance, you really didn't see him or angle after the fight started. 3. No classic Gertner speech.

Thanks Angle-plex for pointing out the whole Batista "I know what yor're doing HHH, stop it. Pkay, we'll fight next week Angle" . I noticed this too and was like, "what the f*ck?" Batista looks really bad now; whether it's the writers writing stupid lines for him like this, or him being obviously nervous with his lines during the contract signing (on top of Cena joing Raw), Batista's character is dying already

I'm sorry, but this warrants some discussion

I always laugh how little WWE writers know/care about things they write or characters they make up. Does anyone else realize that Hassan, who I'll assume is supposed to be a muslim arab-american, has tattoos (on his arms) which is in direct violation of the teachings in the Koran; it is considered desecrating your body. I'm catholic and i know this; I guess WWE just thinks and /or realizes that wrestling fans aren't smart enough to realize this or don't care.

I Agree wholeheartedly with KNK; go with friends to your local hooters or jillian's to watch it

"I now realise what they're doing. They're going to build Vengeance as the biggest PPV outside of Mania so it overshadows ECW. " EXACTLY....DON"T BUY VENGEANCE ! I REPEAT, DON"T BUY VENGEANCE!!! Really, this is just a way to make HHH"s control even bigger and make ECW product look weak selling wise if people buy this PPV. Remember the party line that we want WWE to change after what we saw last night. ..or did people already jump off the band wagon?

anyone else seeing this as a way to get all ther big stars on Raw and eventually open up ECW for the Friday time slot. Only thing that doesn't make me think this i that one can't expect ECW buyrate to stay this high (if there were to be more ECW PPVs) and while the crowd is crazy, filling places like last night is ~4000 people compared to a regular house show which is about $10,000 people; thus ECW coming back probably won't occur because WWE would lose money doing this even though the product is superior

anyone know the buyrate of last year and this year's Wrestlemania?

A couple of things I really missed tonight: 1. Judge Jeff Jones (who should have come out with awesome) 2. Tony Mamaluke being introduced as weighing "2041 fluid ounces" 3. I wish they had a clearer and longer view of Francine and especially Beulah (hair got in the way too much) 4. RAVEN 5. Also, WWE and ECW should have brawled in the ring, then tazz's music and everyone on both sides break up and step out of the ring except angle and TAz chokes out angle in the center of the ring (out on the floor was kind of weak for such little time considering how huge TAZ was to ECW) I loved that the Dudleys won the flaming tables match because it wouldn't be an true ECW PPV if Dreamer won in the main event

Well, if everyone is telling the truth that after seeing tonight's PPV that things in no uncertain way need to change (and i agree), then I challenge all of you to not buy any other PPVs of WWE (including summerslam), as well as tell your friends not to (and additionally make sure to buy the DVD of tonight's show in droves)until things change and/or ECW gets its own brand back regularly. Vince listens to money, just like any businessman does. Tonight's PPV occurred because people made the ECW dvd the #2 selling WWE of all time. Problem is, people say they want one thing and the hate the WWE product currently, but keep on buying the WWE PPVs and or/dvds just enough to make a profit to make it profitable to Vince and thus status quo stays the same.

Honestly watching the show on PPV was great, but the biggest mistake I may have ever made in my wrestling watching career, believe it or not, was not putiing down $400 bucks for a ticket to the show; I would gladly have done so now just to soak the energy from the crowd that sorely misses from any other promotion ever (Edit: I have never been to an ROH show, but nothing can beat the ecw crowd vibe)

I taped the show; best show to watch since at least Wresltemania XX& from WWE (personally, because of crowd and my ECW biases, I think this was better, but whatever). Anyways, I think everyone should buy the dvd (which I'm going to do) to send a statement to Vince and all (and hopefully a resurrection?!), but I'd be willing to send copies to people for free (except for the shipping and handling) in the ecw fan tradition of giving tapes of shows to each other except for free). Of course, since I'm paying for the blank tape itself, I'd only make 10-20 tapes ultimately.

You have to think lawler will show up..and if not, i have to think they are going to have another ECW event in the not too distant future since Lawler was the biggest adversary of ECW when they invaded last time in 1997

Already almost the best raw ever; I smell something big happening with ECW part of show tonight also. I wonder if Cena coming to Raw means the WWE is considering ECW type show as the Fiday show eventually

    Greatest Rap Ever

What the hell are they thinking?!!! Really!!! Obviously Christian is going to smackdown, but it makes no sense for him to lose in the 1st round of the tournament; can't take him as a real contender to Cena if he's not one of the best seven on raw. WWe creative team has their heads up their asses as usual

    Batista needs...

I'll make this short. Although we all know Batista is over big time and has a great look, he certainly does not have the verbal skill to cut decent/captivating promos. I think for batista to stay viable as a legit main eventer, he'll have to cut great promos so the fans buy into the WWE and into him as a champ. What I think he needs is a manager only to be a mouthpiece for him...exactly like heyman was for Brock Lesnar when he first came in. It was more believable/more intriguing to be an unstoppable monster who didn't speak but was menacing/intimidating with a manger hyperbolizing about his greatness. Eventually, after this feud with HHH is over, he'll need to carry the feuds physically and verbally. What do you think (guess this wasn't as short as I thought)?

    Batista needs...

I don't think he needs a manager at the moment but i thyink eventually he will need one or he'll become Chris Benoit like ; won't be able to stay Champ because while good/eventually great in the ring, he won't sell merchandise, etc. (which is why I think Cena, though not nearly as good a wrestler, I think will stay in the title picture for a longer time than Batista)
  19. Posted this as a reply to another post, but thought it should have its own topic: When Van Dam comes back, he NEEDS to be in the WWE title picture, if for no other reason than because he is versatile. He can fight heavyweights like Taker (actually got a good an entertaing match out of him a couple years ago on raw), mat technicians like Angle, and even cruiserweights like Mysterio convincingly; versatility is what makes a champion appealing if only because one doesn't have to retread the same main event matches against the same wrestlers (also, title matches (like barbed wire steel cage) wouldn't need to have gimmicks to be interesting (because the big show sucks). Lack of versatility in the types of people a wrestler can wrestle against is one of the main problems I see with the WWE product today; this leads to the same matches. Most people forget when Brock Lesnar first came up as the unstoppable monster, the only wrstlker he had problems with/couldn't beat cleanly (even lost i think) was to Van Dam...and those were entertaing matches that made both look good). Obviously, the major problem I suppose is his skills on the mic. But if you take the whole 420/Laid back stoner thing and amp it up, I think it could become huge (he has a subtle charisma in his backstage promos). Maybe make him heel and have a manager/mouthpiece to help. What do you guys think?

Could Van Dam be a viable WWE main eventer?

    Good idea , stevekick

Could Van Dam be a viable WWE main eventer?

Could RVD ever be a credible heel? The only way I think he could do it is if he were incredibly arrogant, but he did that in ECW and became a huge fan favorite. I think he needs to be repackaged as a heel to be taken more seriously and smackdown needs heels, but I'm not sure if he could draw heat.
  22. Superfly Snuka

Could Van Dam be a viable WWE main eventer?

What I think would be a great way to come back as a heel is to have RVD during a smackdown PPV come out during the main event at the end and attack Cena or whoever is champ and do a Van terminator. I suppose he could form a stable with Carlito Carribean Cool...because they'd be cool...just kidding
  23. Superfly Snuka

Could Van Dam be a viable WWE main eventer?

While I agree that HHH made RVD look like a total jobber (not unlike HH and Booker T...or most anyone else for that matter), I think since he's on smackdown away from HHH (although, obviously Stephanie runs smackdown) his past history in this regard won't matter. Would anyone else think an Angle versus Van Dam match (one on one) would be great with the way Van Dam is able to take bumps/contort his body body it would make an angle german suplex look ridiculously good. Also, I think promos between angle (the pseudo-serious/moral/intense guy) and Van dam (the slacker/stoner/laid back guy) could be gold.
