Not that his face run has been oversaturated at this point at all, but I do think his face character has become stagnant, thanks to the the WWE writers. He's champ, but all he does is just smiles alot, goes to the ring, wrestles the 8-10 minute match in which does the face in peril until the end when he wins. He needs promo time, big time. Which is so silly, since, if anything, the guy is gold on the mike.

Well, i agree they wouldn't let Punk do the heel sXe character (which is so stupid) anytime soon, if ever, but if they did, why would Shawn have to put over Punk? It'd be nice, but Shawn's not Hogan (completely washed up and really only good to put over some young guy, but won't); why can't Shawn win mania leading to a couple of more matches and a prolonged feud with Punk in which Punk goes over eventually? Also, just having Punk face Michaels as opposed to the ECW crapfest of the Miz/ Big Daddy V/jobber would be putting him much more over, win or lose, anyways. Jericho, Punk, Hardy, and all the other young guys/IWC favs can't all go over at mania, so why not stagger the wins over the next 4 months after mania?

While I certainly agree during the first few years of his WWE run, I distinctly remember the WWE putting not one, but two "World" titles on RVD, before he smoked it, and any chance at a decent WWE run away. And that's from a RVD mark. Shawn and Punk would be fantastic if Punk were turned heel and did the whole "I'm straight edge and better than you" heel gimmick from ROH. he could attack Shawn's ways of the past in regards to the Cliq and I'm sure, attack his "supposed Christian conversion"...if Shawn let him do it storyline-wise. Match-wise, if the WWE let Punk work lat the pace he did in ROH, this would be easily match of the night at Mania and probably match of the year candidate.

Exactly. When the hell was the last time the Survivor Series big? Even when you think odd pairings might be interesting (CM Punk and Dx?!?), the matches themselves just suck.

Well, I, for one, found it sadly humorous and ironic in how it was written: "(Chris Benoit) always putting himself out for others. In the WWE locker room, wrestlers knew Benoit as the guy you went to with a problem. Pissed at management? Not sure how to execute a certain move? Trouble with the wife?..." Yeah, I have an idea the advice Benoit must have given them...

Thing is, I don't think most live fans would have a problem booing the widow of a WWE star if it's been some time since the passing. The reason she had no heat was because that storyline was just stupid to begin with..and probably this one will be too. The last part that i italicized in your paragraph makes much more sense and would actually be a fine storyline, even with Vicki's poor acting skills/on screen presence. However, the WWE writers are just lazy (just as they were in the Rey-Chavo storyline).

Dude, Shelton Benjamin with Burke as his mouthpiece has me all sorts of excited. Shelton could have some awesome matches with Punk...if creative lets them go at it.

Well, I bet you Vince would say that Cena blowing out his pec was the most important part of the year (and I won't even mention Benoit). I really wonder if this was all supposed to originally be Jericho to "save us" from John Cena originally, and if it were, then this would have been ten times better. Either it would have been heel Jericho or it would have been a perfect time for Cena to go heel given the huge reaction Jericho would have received regardless in re-debuting. Does the whole "save us from Orton thing" even make sense; didn't the promos start while Cena was still champ? Anyways the only thing that really detracted from the segment was them showing us it was Jericho (and Lawler even pretty much saying it) who clotheslined the runner (by the way, the expression on the runner's face while running was priceless) and the fact that Jericho waited like three minutes to talk after getting on stage...it was a little too long and went from anticipation to let's get on with it already. Orton had pretty good facial reactions during the whole segment though.

I agree, it was underwhelming. They should have had Jericho just stick out an arm to knock the torch guy out instead of showing his whole back and giving it away before they "revealed the code". Also, anyone else think Jericho looks really small now, ie, too small to look like a legit heavyweight champ?

The should replace the spinner belt with a moolah type belt (one with the picture of the champ in the middle). Meh, I guess i just want the spinner belt blown up.

The Chris Benoit before the last 3 days of his life was a lunatic who beat his wife, thought invisible men were following him, tortured a younger wrestler for "disrespecting Shawn Michaels," laughed at a crying referee backstage at a Japanese show and then called him a "gay bitch," and may have been injecting his son with HGH for non-medical reasons, among other things I'm probably forgetting. I wonder how that ref feels now, given the fact the Benoit kept a diary exclusively for Eddie and well, in the end, seemed to care much more about Eddie than his family.

I can, and actually I find his interviews/whenever he talks much better/believable now, since you really believe he actually can do what he says (actually did). Macabre, I know, but it's the truth.

The WWE still owns the copyright trademark on "The Rock" moniker, right (and just let him use it for movies and stuff)? If so, I really would wonder how him in TNA could ever possibly work really. Dwayne Johnson just doesn't convey the same je ne sais quoi. He could always go with "The Pebble", I suppose.

What the hell was that ending? Santino was gold, everything else made me sad inside.
