Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released
Superfly Snuka replied to Human Fly's topic in The WWE Folder
If a worker ever brings up a union they will totally be black balled and the workers will not stand together.......that guy will be fired and there will be 20 guys who line up to take his spot. This is COMPLETELY true. Anyways, since the good memories of Benoit I used to have are rapidly disappearing, are there any series of matches that you wish he had with a wrestler but didn't? I always wanted to see the series he was going to have with Brock before he won the rumble and switched brands. -

It is clear Vince can't/won't police the business himself. The only way things would change is if the congress got involved. You have to think with the election in 2008 that one of these candidates (probably one of the minor ones) is going to latch on this story and use for their own agenda...bad news for Vince. -

We all knew that but if challenged they'd simply say he had them legally by prescription as they said there.....They didn't say he had illegal drugs. Well, as a physician myself, I'd be really interested to see who they trace this prescription to. I mean, maybe he was given anabolic steroids temporarily after his neck surgery (I'm pretty sure he did get these legally), but there is absolutely no justification in the literature of neck surgeries of continuing anabolic steroids past 6-8 months (AT MOST; and even this is controversial) after neck surgery. But I guarantee that the doctor who wrote the prescription will attribute them to his neck. -

Actually, that's the only ting that makes me a little/tiny bit better. As in " I did an awful thing but I hope they at least go to heaven" sort of thing. Hoping that Benoit had at least one moment of clarity/lucidity before he died. -

Whether it's roid rage or not, we know one thing for sure: the WWE wellness program/testing is a crock. -

Well, at least we can put to rest the silly notion that benoit was watching Vengeance with his son and smothered him soon after it. Benoit, it seemsthey said, died sometime Sunday morning at the latest. -

Can only be one of the younger Hart family members, now, right? I'll miss the snot rocket the most. I loved that for some reason. -

I don't think there is an "if" but "what"; 40 yr old men can not have that muscle mass/maintain that muscle mass without help(though I'm sure he was a work-out freak as well). -

I wonder if they told wrestlers no tributes to Chris Benoit. I'm sure they have. Also, does anyone else ever remember a wrestling-related story been the top story on CNN? Just wondering. -

..and killed her 4 yrs later. Just b/c he didn't "hit her 4 yrs ago" doesn't mean events like this won't happen/can't happen. Never heard of Benoit as a wife-beater or wife-abuser (mentally) before. This just gets more and more sad... -

Just thinking. What does this mean for ECW? He was, I'm assuming supposed to be their "big" piece that gave some credibility. Who gets traded to ECW? Punk vs. Nitro (though i like it) will not sell anything in the main event scene. -

What will be interesting, given the sinister turn this has taken, will be if upclose shots of signs in the crowd regarding Benoit, even if positive, are shown. -

But it's quite possible all this happened b/c of the same reason: 'roids. Whether it's 'roid rage/'roid psychosis/'roid induced depression, or a death because of complications from roid use, it's all due to the same thing: long-term 'roid use. What I think would be interesting to find out, ultimately, is if Benoit either had a long psychiatric history vs. dementia/brain damage from repeated concussions (ala NFL players) vs. roids possibly causing this. There is a difference between his body-breaking down ala Davey Boy Smith and snapping and killing his family. There is no excuse for what he did. I agree, but the same problem quite possibly is the same problem that keeps reoccurring in this industry for the last twenty-thirty years: 'Roids and their effects. And if that is, in fact the case, everyone, including the fans ( like me) who like seeing the wrestlers look cartoonish, are somewhat to blame. Let's never forget that Benoit and Eddie would have NEVER been given their championship runs if they didn't look the part (ie, use roids). I firmly believe this. -

Bizarre is an odd word for the police to throw about, though. Because, even as horrific as it is, a husband killing his wife and son then himself does happen, sadly, and wouldn't warrant bizarre in its own right... With the rumored time table and the fact that a firearm wasn't used makes the entire situation rather strange. If Benoit did do all of this himself, it really has to be the story of a complete mental breakdown. The instruments of death, I assume, would be needles and steroids. Perhaps he knocked them out and then gave them an overdose, before doing the same himself... Actually, I was thinking a noose if he hung himself. -
So, after reading thrity pages on the Benoit family murders, it became painfully obvious to me that people are struggling to cope with this and that there are many ways people cope/try to make sens of all that is happened. People are doing this by either mentioning their favorite Benoit memories, typing long responses in which they are just trying to sort out their feelings, while others arecoping by joking. Which I think is fine, as who is anyone to tell another how they should or shouldn't cope. To each his own. But, i think it's also quite apparent that some/many are mortified/upset that others can joke at a time like this, which is also okay. So I'm starting a thread where people can cope through making jokes (b/c I know that's a way I cope when someting tragic/bad befalls me personally) and at the same time, people who don't want to read it can stick to the other Benoit thread and cope in their own way without being offended to some extent. I'll go first, I guess: "Man, some people will do anything to not have to put Punk over."

I'll second the person that said the only thing that separates everyone else is control. Now obviously not knowing anything about Benoit's personal life and even , if any, psychiatric history, I really have to wonder if a 'Roid rage or 'roid related psychosis/depression played any part of this. -

Wow. And to think many of us were thinking a Punk-Benoit match would be blown off too soon. I guess, unfortunately, it wasn't soon enough. RIP Benoit. Not to be insensitive, but I call total BS about the whole " I gotta go home b/c my wife and kid are spitting up blood" story. Really, it this were even close to being true, wouldn't they have gone to the hospital? Any decent mother would take her child to the hospital if their 7 yr old son was coughing up blood. Unfortunately, there has to be something much more sinister at hand. If it were due to carbon monoxide poisoning, it would be quite easy to pretty much diagnose, as your skin turns almost cherry red b/c of the oxygen being displaced from hemoglobin with CO(i've seen this before when i worked my ER rotation in med school). -
OAO Monday Night Raw Thread- June 11, 2007

Or, the could just have Kennedy win the rumble and challenge Edge for the title at WM 24. Actually this is a way much better way to develop the feud as if Kennedy remained on Smackdown, he would HAVE to go after Edge right away and the fued would be over by Summer Slam, which would be lame. Kennedy is better on Smackdown as RAW will be monopolized by Cena/HHH/Michaels, but I think Kennedy challenges Edge and ends up on Smackdown the first SD after WM 24. -
Wrestling in high def, like Porn, would be a huge mistake. Trust me, you don't want to see all the zits from roids, among other things, in high def (or scars from fake boobs/busted faces).

Though I think he would suck as long term champ, I must say I've heard this before from most (including me) when JBL became champ. He became gold. Now, I'm not saying Khali is JBL, esp. since he can't speak at all, but I seriously doubt people will stop watching WWE or have it "ruined" for them. ANd heck, Khali's reign can't be worse than Rey's.
