Wrestling Roster Draft: Luxe & Reduxe

Yes it does al. If Hawk misses his deadline he's going to be terribly bitter because he's going to lose out on both.

    Debating D'Antoni's Suns

I know, I fucking hate high energy games and slam dunks. Give me Tim Duncan backing down in the post for 8 seconds and then either banking it off the glass or passing out to a shitty roleplayer for a corner three. Yeah, that's the good stuff. If you want to watch a high energy game, lots of slam dunks and absolutely no semblance of defense there's always the And1 Mixtape Tour.

    Debating D'Antoni's Suns

I don't want to dig through the posts in this folder to find it but I'm pretty sure that I said something to the effect of Nash being the worst multiple time winner of an MVP award in North American pro sports history and still stand by that. I know there were multiple arguments with me about the topic because I was of the belief that the voters were giving Nash their vote for different reasons in back to back seasons which pretty much meant they couldn't keep their stories straight. He won the first because he improved the team more than Shaq improved Miami, even though Dallas ALSO improved after he left. How could Nash be the most valuable player in the league when a playoff team actually got better without him? The second one he was given because he "improved on an MVP performance" or some bullshit along those lines. People were blinded by the style because Rileyball "killed" the NBA in the '90s. I feel good now because I was one of the few people here who hated the Suns and everything they were doing. Had they won a championship it would have made the NBA even harder to watch than it is already. My favorite part of the whole Suns' run was Nash flopping like a bitch along the sideboards and getting his teammates suspended costing them a series. If he just takes his hit like a man, gets up and sinks the free throws the Suns probably win the title that year. Old habits die hard I guess.

    College Basketball: February '09

Can someone explain to me how one AP voter gave UConn his first place vote over Pitt when they have identical records and Pitt just beat the Huskies in Connecticut this week? I don't really understand how Oklahoma got 2 first place votes either, but this one just seems silly. Your # 1 team shouldn't have just lost to a team you ranked lower than them when your # 1 was playing at home.

    The Amazing Race: Season 14

I agree. I don't remember how exactly it was worded in the preview but it just seemed like they misplaced the fanny pack (and will find it after a nice suspense building commercial break of course), while last season it was pretty much a given that Dallas had lost his.

    The Amazing Race: Season 14

Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I hope he sings his ass off of the show next week. If they don't go I'm hoping the flight attendants do because they suck at this game.

    The 2009 NFL Offseason

I could see the Giants taking a run at Harrison to replace Toomer, especially if they don't bring back Burress and can't find a legit # 1 elsewhere.

Worst General Manager in any sport

I agree with that. I guess I'm just looking at the Knicks being relevant in the NBA as being something further away than being a playoff team in the NBA given that they're under .500 and in contention for a playoff berth, but there still nowhere near being a factor like they were during the early to mid '90s. It would be nice to have MSG "rocking" again. That place looks like a morgue these days and still will if they don't land one of the big names next summer.

I wouldn't go that far. The Knicks will be under the cap and have Fat Eddie and JJ coming off the books in 2011 unless they are able to get rid of them sooner. It would be a miracle. The fact is that the Knicks will have a chance in getting some worth wild and if that doesn't hapen they are still under the cap for the next year or the year after. I rather see the team have a payroll of 40 million and go 41-41 instead of a payroll of 120 million and go 31-51 like they have done the last several years. They're banking everything on picking up someone from the LeBron, Wade, Bosh, Amare grouping. If they don't manage to get one of them, I don't know who they'll be able to get in 2011. I'm not saying they'll be terrible until 2015, but it's going to take a while to put together a team without one (or two) of those guys simply because they'll probably have traded away every other decent piece they had or let them walk to save cap room. If they don't have any of those franchise guys and also lose out on re-signing Lee or Nate because they needed the cap room what would be the draw for a fan to go see the team?

I'm going to say it's a toss up between Matt Millen and the 2 headed monster in NY of LaydenThomas. They killed a franchise that was a perennial playoff participant for a decade and the only hope they have of getting back is that a salary dump lands them a franchise player or two. If the Knicks come up empty in 2010, it'll be at least another 5 years before they'd be relevant.

    This week in the NBA

They were also 7 games better than every other team in the league last year. Right now, they're a 1/2 game behind Cleveland and only 2 up on Orlando for 3rd.

    This week in the NBA

Garnett should be out 2-3 weeks with a knee strain which means Boston will probably end up as either the 2 or 3 seed in the East which means they'd have to play Orlando and then against Cleveland without the home court advantage to make it back to the NBA Finals.

    Joss Whedon's Dollhouse

Hmm, Edward knew about Henry when the show began. Then he became broken and Henry learned about Edward. There were some wacky hijinks involved where Edward and Henry would flip back and forth at the worst possible times (every week of course!) and then the show got cancelled just as it was getting somewhere. Here Echo does NOT know that she's a mindless drone when the show began. Then she became broken and there were some wacky hijinks involved where Echo could remember things at the worst possible time (I didn't see tonight's ep yet) and then the show will get cancelled just as it's getting somewhere. So I guess the answer would be Dushku has breasts and Slater did not. Other than that, I got nothing.

    The 2009 NFL Offseason

Some people in the NFL think the Raiders deal with Nnamdi is bad for business. It does seem excessive, but at the same time if the Raiders are willing to ruin their cap flexibility for a CB and a punter to a lesser extent, then I don't see how they'll be able to compete when the other skill positions players on their team come up on free agency.

    This week in the NBA

With McGrady's future so uncertain, that's a ridiculous trade for Houston to consider. As long as Yao/Artest stay healthy, I think they can be a playoff team. Considering that Yao rarely stays healthy and that Houston couldn't get out of the first round even with T-Mac, I would say getting a young big and VC is better than making the playoffs and losing in the first round anyway. The window just slammed shut on any hopes of them winning a title as presently constituted and they might as well start trying to restock before Yao gets any older and eventually becomes a shell of himself too.
  21. I hope no one was playing a sports cliche themed drinking game during this press conference, because they would be in a coma by now.

    The Amazing Race: Season 14

Then they almost completely lost it fumbling around looking for the Pit Stop. Left the task at 6, arrived at the area in time, then came in 9th due to dicking around looking for the yodelers. I'm already dreading next episode where the wife apparently gets lost by herself as shown in the previews. That was one of my favorite parts of the whole episode. I hate when they put people on a show like TAR with no ability to hustle. That's why I was glad the orange team lost because the blonde was going to be deadweight the whole time, and there are enough good looking chicks on the other teams to survive her loss.

Since someone PM'ed me, I'll share the following. I do hate Marvin's idiotic ramblings, the Yankees, the city of Philadelphia, LeBron James, the Republican Party, collagen bloated lips, and most Christians (even though I am one). I'm an Economics major which is about as useful as being an Art History major right now in terms of short term career prospects. I don't talk about myself/ask people about themselves online because I don't really care to make friends I'll never talk to in person. I am unpleasant to people I don't respect because I've lived in NYC my entire life and that's just how everyone is in this area. I don't however speak with a Brooklyn accent because I'm not from Brooklyn, Italian, or a practicing member of the evergrowing douchebag subculture around here. There ya go.
