    The NFL All-Time Draft.

In that case, with a brief scan of the first page to make sure he's not taken... Marvin Harrison is a great receiver, but he's only one man, and you need to augment Joe Namath's abilities the best you can. Thus, it's time to pick another great receiver, one with speed. And if you're going to take a speedy receiver, you might as well take the fastest man in the world. "Bullet" Bob Hayes, WR Having set several sprinting records at Florida State, including world records in the 100 meter and 200 and tying the world record for the 220 yard dash, and won a gold medal at the 1964 Olympics in sprinting, Hayes brought his track abilities to the Dallas Cowboys, where he served as often as a decoy as a receiver, as teams would often have to double-team him in order to keep up with him. His effectiveness was reduced drastically with the onset of zone defense and the bump-and-run, which were created solely to combat him, but he still helped Dallas win five division titles, two NFC titles, and a Super Bowl. Bob Hayes is quite possibly the best player not in the Hall of Fame. 3x Pro Bowl 4x All-Pro 371 receptions 7414 receiving yards 71 touchdowns First Dallas Cowboy to 1,000 receiving yards in a season (rookie year) Led NFL in receiving touchdowns his first two years NFL's leading punt returner in 1968 Only athlete with both a Super Bowl ring and an Olympic gold medal

I'm making Smartly's pick for him, are we on 12 hour rounds or 8 or what? Has John missed his pick?

My coach is Toe Blake, not Glen Sather.

    NHL Draft

Smartly Pretty's out of town until the 20th or so, but I know the general idea of his team. Would it terribly offend anyone if I wrote a synopsis for him, or is he just going to have to go on his own players' merits?

That's what I'm going to do, but then, my team needs all the help it can get. Toe Blake in the second round my ass.

All that's left for me to pick is a backup goalie, and this goalie is one I think was painfully overlooked. Jean-Sebastien Giguere, G 2007 Stanley Cup Winner 2003 Conn Smythe Winner (On the losing team, no less) In 2003 WCF, held Minnesota to one goal in four games, for a preposterous .25 GAA.

Can I nominate Ryan Smyth for an F'n? Apparently, his bank account is in Denver. Fuck a bunch of Ryan Smyth.

I was either gonna take this guy or Tanguay, and Tanguay went, so instead I present to you: Milan Hejduk, W 2001 Stanley Cup Champion 2003 Maurice Richard Trophy (50 goals) Second in games played for Colorado (701, behind Joe Sakic) 2003 Czech Golden Hockey Stick, given to the best Czech hockey player 1998 Olympic gold medal 2006 Olympic bronze medal 598 points in 701 games

Don't really need another center, but he's available and I think that's ridiculous. Vincent Lecavalier.

CG. MFer picked at 8:12 AM yesterday, ignoring Niskie's makeup pick. Gert was on the clock until 4, 909 until midnight, Hart until 8 in the morning, and Angle until 4.

The last of my centers. History may not remember him as one of the best, but he's certainly one of my favorites, and to be fair, he isn't too shabby a player. Doug Weight, C 4-time All Star Scored 13 points in 7 games in the opening round of the 2003 playoffs 2002 Olympic silver medalist 2006 Stanley Cup Champion 969 points in 1131 games (704 of them assists, putting him 46th all-time)

I, too, was looking at Damphousse. Brian Rafalski is a defenseman, by the way.

Gah, you're right. I always call him Kevin, and have no idea why. Probably because he's mediocre.

Good move to lock him up. What they need now is to find a replacement for Steve Sullivan, who probably isn't going to play again, and certainly not at Steve Sullivan levels if he does. They were 16th in GA and 15th in GF, and they're certainly not going to accomplish anything being perfectly middle of the road like they are now.

    The NHL all-time draft

Brian Rafalski, D Western Collegiate Hockey Association Defenseman of the Year WCHA First-Team All-Star NCAA All-Star Two-time winner of the Pekka Rautakallio trophy for best defenseman in SM-liiga Matti Keinonen trophy for best +/- in SM-liiga Kultainen kypara award for best player in SM-liiga NHL All-Rookie Team One-time All-Star In 1999, named by The Sporting News as the best hockey player in the world not playing in the NHL 2002 Olympic silver medalist Four-time Stanley Cup Champion This is kind of an unorthodox pick, as there are certainly more decorated defensemen out there, but international play being taken into effect gives Rafalski a bit of an edge, as he was one of the most dominant defensemen in the Finnish leagues. Probably the best undrafted NHLer of all time, he was a key component of both New Jersey and Detroit's all-time great defenses, and adds speed to my blue line as well.

    The NHL all-time draft

King Clancy, D 4-time All Star Hall of Famer Ranked 52nd on THN's List of 100 Greatest Hockey Players Namesake of the King Clancy Memorial Trophy for leadership qualities on and off the ice Retired the highest scoring defenseman ever First hockey player to play all six positions during a game (including goalie) Wasn't afraid to back down from a fight, despite his small stature With King, I now have two lines of world class blueliners that should combine with my goalie to form a stalwart defense indeed.

    Woks are the shit.

I got a wok last year, and I've used that thing obsessively. It's incredible. What do you guys cook in your woks? I usually just do stir-fry, but hey, new ideas is kind of what the food folder is for.
