I dont know how many of you saw it but my favorite ever gimmick match was the lethal lottery in WCW. Basically a tag team tournament where the tag partners are picked out of a hat so you had Sting team with Abdullah the Butcher and Luger with Brad Armstrong and the like which made for some different combos. Then the winners of the tag matches were gathered at the end of the night for the main event which was a battle royal with the winner getting cash and a world title shot. The one I saw had the Great Muta winning it. Second best I guess is the royal rumble.

If were talking over and that smarks hate its gotta be Goldberg. Smarks hated the movesets and no selling, but fans loved it, WCW wise that is....

Maybe you don't hear the fans go nuts for him. Or see them buy his merch. Or read reports that he's generally the most over guy on house shows, and if he doesn't appear, people are annoyed, which doesn't usually happen with anyone else. Maybe you're also ignoring the fact that the fans don't care that he's not that good, which is a great sign of someone being over if the fans are willing to overlook his shortcomings. Or we could throw all that out, and just assume you're an idiot. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If we are going to use that logic, then RVD should have been champ a long time ago. Insanely over, merchandise selling, repetitive moves but still entertaining.

Best technical wrestler was Jazz. Most dominant was probably Chyna due to the fact that she had to fight men as the women were no real challenge.

I think too many people here on the board have missed the point of the question. It states greatest opponent not best match. Meaning, 2 wrestlers who are linked to each other. Their ying to the others yang. Since most have done WWE and recent I'll go for: Tommy Rich - Buzz Sawyer Bruiser Brody - Abdullah the Butcher Dusty Rhodes - Ric Flair Nick Bockwinkle - Hulk Hogan Bruno Sammartino - Larry Zbyszko Raven -Tommy Dreamer Jerry Lawler - Bill Dundee Tag Teams The Von Erichs - The Freebirds Rock N Roll Express - Midnight Express

Dream Matches in the WWE (or wrestling in general)
gwf0704 replied to zyn081's topic in The WWE Folder
Jericho v Eddie has been seen when both were in WCW, especially at a Fall Brawl Wargames when Eddie beat Jericho for the Cruiserweight title. Snitsky v Batista Edge v Christian Bubba Ray v D-Von Rey v RVD HHH v Angle -
Do you mean by the objectivity shown by non Ric Flair wrestling fans? Isn't that being a little hypocritical?

Bloodiest match in history has to be the Last Battle of Atlanta in a steel cage between Tommy Rich and Buzz Sawyer. Bill Alphonso looked pretty sick against Beaulah in their ECW intergender match. Another good one was Tully Blanchard getting his forehead carved up with a wooden chair by Magnum TA in a cage.

New World Order Nation of Domination The original Legion of Doom with Hawk, Animal and Jake "The Snake" Roberts, with Paul Ellering as manager.

There were 6 Von Erich brothers but one was electrocuted to death at age 10 I belive, David died in Japan of an intestinal disease (though some say it was a cocaine overdose), Kerry, Chris and Mike all committed sucide. The oldest, Kevin, is the only one left. Von Erich actually made an appearance on WWF Magazine when he won the NWA world title from Ric Flair at the Cotton Bowl using a back slide pin. Also, Kerry appeared on a few programs like Superstars and beat the Berzerker on the Summerslam preview show before winning the belt from Hennig. He didnt just win it back quickly as I remember him still being champion during Survivor Series along with WWF champ Ultimate Warrior and tag champs The Legion of Doom vs Perfect and all 3 Demolition Members. Reports state he came from an abusive family as his father would physically and mentally abuse all of them and Von Erich used drugs and alcohol to battle his demons. I think he was wrestling in Dallas, Tx again when he commited suicide when he was injured during a match and was arrested on forging prescription pain killers. He was extremely popular in Texas, as were David and Kevin, and was physically gifted with an Atlas type body, which Vince always loves, but I think he was just too messed up to really deal with personal problems.

Vince actually wouldnt let him use his actual finisher which was the iron claw...

The Undertaker v Chris Benoit (World Title Match) Rob Van Damm v Eddie Guerrero (WWE Title Match) HHH v Edge Cena v Booker T

Well, as the old man of the board I guess I'll put my 2 cents... I'm 34, have 4 boys, been married 11 yrs and work for the State of Texas. But guess what, I didn't have a girlfriend in high school, kind of shy and overweight, didnt get my first real job til i was 21 and met my future wife a few months later. What I'm trying to say is that even though things are tough right now you should never give up. I'm not going to say anything sappy but I wll be honest by saying that the only person who can change your situation is YOU!! You really have to stop seeing how everyone else is doing and concentrate on yourself. I know this sounds harsh but you have to remember, life does not owe you a thing. You are born and then you have to make the most of what you have. Just be yourself and if other people dont like you, then thats their problem. A wise man once said "I cursed my bunions until I met a man with no feet." Take it for what its worth....

Makes me wonder what the people who hate Goldberg so much and are bitching about his reaction to this would say if it was Angle or Guerrero who got pissed. My assumption is that they would be lauded as heroes for defending the company...

Just wondering how many others are fans of MLW out of Florida. For those that don't know its an independent wrestling promotion that is more of an ECW clone than anything else, but its got an awesome roster of talent such as: Mike Awesome Simon Diamond/CW Anderson/Steve Corino (Extreme Horsemen) Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels Dr Death Steve Williams Terry Funk Ikuto Hidaka Homicide Satoshi Kojima Jerry Lynn CM Punk Raven Sabu Sandman Norman Smiley Masato Tanaka D-Lo Brown Vampiro I've seen the show since it premiered on satellite on the Sunshine Network, right after RAW and sometimes the wrestlings better. It even has Joey Styles as the play by play guy for those who miss him. So much for retiring from the sport. If any of you want to check out the website for shows or videos of matches its www.mlw.com. Just thought those of you who are tired of the same old WWE and NWA / TNA matches...
