Oilers aren't dead yet.
-
This series isn't even close right now. The good news is that teams have been dominated like this and come back and won, but it's not looking good at all.
-
The first thing I want to do is give credit to Steve Yzerman. Despite being an Edmonton fan, this guy has been my favourite hockey player. He has gone on the ice so many times and created results. Even tonight, with a fucked up back, he was winning battles to the puck, winning faceoffs, hitting goal posts. It was a kind of a shame that he was on the bench for the final 5 seconds. If this is indeed the end for Steve, at least it was against my favourite team. What a class act and should immediately be inducted into the hall of fame. Having said that, I haven't been so happy over a hockey game in years. I was at my buddies house tonight and despite being from Ontario, got him completely into the game. When Hemsky scored the winner not only was I jumping and screaming off the couch, but so was he. Just an absolutely awesome moment in my life. Bring on the Sharks or Flames.

This is absolutely awesome. Oilers hang on to win 3-2 and defeat Detroit and the refs. Rexall is going to be insane on Monday night.

From Mckenzie's column.... What a fucking asshole. Way to make a guy feel like shit.
-
Gotta love the NHL for scheduling both the Flames and Oilers on the same night. I'm screwed out of the game.
-
Bob Clarke has no right saying any of that. Remember his treatment of Roger Neilson when he had cancer?
-
I'm happy as hell that we won but if I were a Wings fan I would be pissed off at Legace on that goal trying to do his best Patrick Roy impression.
-
I'm going to have a heart attack watching this.
-
Oilers actually outplayed the Wings for 2 periods until those 2 very quick goals. They start the OT off with a powerplay.
-
I'm only replying to this cause the Oilers started using the trap on Detroit. While the trap is effective, it's not going to be as effective as it was say 6 years ago. Despite Edmonton's trapping efforts, Detroit still pumped 57 shots at Roloson and another 30+ in game 2. Sure the trap isn't the most exciting thing to watch but if that's what the Oilers have to do to shut down the Wings, so be it.
-
I've said it from the beginning but Detroit is just too good over Edmonton. The only reason this game went to double overtime is because of Roloson. I still think Edmonton extends the series to 6, but Detroit is just too powerful to overcome.

this should be good. Just don't give out your phone number

Detroit over Edmonton in 6. Dallas over Colorado in 6 Calgary over Anaheim in 5 SJ over Nashville in 7 i'll predict the east later.
-
Andrew Peters just became one of my favourite players.

Now that the Oilers are in, I really hope that they DON'T end up playing Dallas. Call me crazy but I believe Edmonton matches up better with the run and gun style of the Wings. Not only would Dallas beat Edmonton for the 2030433249002934903th time in a row, they would destroy them this time around. I feel bad for Canucks fans but in a way this is karma because the Canucks beat the Oilers on the final day of 2004 to send us packing. I will also root for San Jose (if they dont play edmonton or a canadian team) all the way through as a thank you.
-
Oilers got Detroit though so you aren't done yet. However, Edmonton is a really good matchup this year and have beat them twice. I hate to see the Canucks losing but it's the only way Edmonton will make the playoffs right now.
-
FRUSTRATED ISN'T A GODDAMN WORD FOR IT. THIS IS BULLSHIT (Gets out of Bret Hart mode) Edmonton got robbed tonight. Peca clearly scored but they rushed through the decision and went no goal.
-
Anyone on the Leafs deserves that, i was just hoping that tucker would have gotten a serious injury from it.
-
Speaking of the Hurricane, Rosey has just been released according to wwe.com. Although Rosey wasn't the worst part of Raw, it's nothing to lose sleep over either.
-
Anyone watching the Leafs @ Penguins game. Lights have gone out TWICE in the last 7 minutes. Fire department has apparently showed up now. Fans were chanting "NEW ARENA" the first time.

Roy Halladay signed a 3-year, 40 million dollar contract today which will keep him in Toronto till at least 2010.

Samsonov with a nice pass to Smyth, 1-0. I love this deal already.
