If Dibiase can get a movie then we need to see Umaga star in a film where he eats small children and terrorizes the elderly.

    Desktop Wallpapers

The title speaks for itself. I just bought a 23-inch Samsung Syncmaster 2343bw and the resolution supports 2048x1152. I've only been able to find a select few on google and they are georgeous. Any other sites that I might be able to check out?

I guess I had the shittiest Christmas here. I got an Edmonton Oilers tuque, 70 bucks in cash, and an Edmonton Oilers can full of popcorn. Not to mention that I suffer from the "oh, we dont know what to get him, so lets get him a shitload of underwear and socks"

    Predictions for 2009

I called either Matt or Jeff winning a world title in the 2008 thread (both did if you count the ECW title being a world) as well as the Big Show returning. Nobody on the current roster has died yet but there's still about a week and a half to go. For 2009..... Jeff Hardy is fired around June. Vince Mcmahon starts suffering the beginning of what turns out to be fatal health problems for him. A main event superstar has a huge blowup with the company and eventually defects to TNA Kennedy gets released Mysterio suffers yet another injury keeping him out for most of the year.

    The Great TSM Wrestling Survey

General Interest Questions 1. Who are you and what's your business here? I can't even remember how I discovered the site to be honest. One day I just joined and started contributing. 2. When did you discover an interest in wrestling? Probably 1990. The first Wrestling Footage I ever remember watching was Mean Gene doing an update for the upcoming Survivor Series. I started watching shortly after that. 3. The Company Line: A. Which companies have you actively followed in your tenure as a wrestling fan? WWF, WCW, ECW, TNA. B. What have some of your favourite companies been? Your least favourite? (In theory, your answer can be the same - if you were growing up a fan of the technical wrestling WCW brought to the table but thought the end of the line for them was some of the worst television this side of My Mother The Car, that's cool). I've always liked WWE/F cause of the production values. Even though the in-ring of WCW was miles ahead of WWE/F at times, I was hooked by Vince's production values and some of the over the top characters. I've never really been a fan of companies who strictly promote technical wrestling. I respect what they are doing but the high school gym atmosphere and the lack of promos kill my interest. So I guess ROH would be my least favourite. C. What is your favourite company right now? Any reason why? WWE by default. I only watch Raw on Monday's and the monthly ppv's. The rare time I tune into Impact i'm confused as to what's going on. A. Who were your favourite wrestlers (or gimmicks) growing up / when you first started watching wrestling? I never really had a favourite wrestler until around 1994 when Owen Hart won the King Of The Ring. After that I became a fan. I also really liked Jeff Jarrett around 1995 when he was feuding with Razor Ramon for the IC Title. Of course I became an NWO fan when they started in 1996. B. Who were some guys you couldn't stand? I was a huge fan of the heels(still am for the most part) so I couldn't stand Razor Ramon, Bret Hart to name a few. C. Who are your current favourites (if applicable / different from A.) Edge, Santino, Jericho, Jeff Hardy, Umaga Specific Questions about your Interest 5. How would you gauge your current interest level in the product? Probably the lowest it's ever been to be honest. I have Raw on every Monday but lately it's become background fodder while I do other things. Sometimes I just lose interest, take a shower and go to bed before Raw is even over. Hopefully that changes with the latest Raw. 6. At what point in wrestling history (if it's not now) would you consider your interest to have been at it's peak? Probably 1998/1999. I made my poor father sit through entire episodes of WCW Thunder. I ordered every PPV from WWE and WCW at the time. 7. At what point could you tell your interest was dipping and why do you think this happened, or what specific event(s) triggered the decrease? To be honest I thought the first brand split was the beginning of the end for me. Seeing tag team guys like Bradshaw and Bubba Dudley get mini-programs in the main event of Raw really cheapened everything for me. Also when Rock and Austin left my interest dwindled. 8. Have you ALWAYS stuck with wrestling even during times of low interest, or are there any lengths of time you stopped watching for a period only to come back at a later date? I've never completely stopped watching but I can remember a time some 13 years ago where I would be in my grade 8 class just thinking and thinking about that nights Raw. Of course, being in Canada, I had to sneak up and watch at midnight in those days on TSN. Now as I previously mentioned, I rarely pay attention to a single episode of Raw. 9. If applicable, at what point did you decide to pack in the wrestling fandom? I'm still a fan. Interesting Questions of a Somewhat Random Nature 10. What style of pro wrestling best resonates with your personal tastes? I'm a cross between a brawling style and high-flying. Also I love the production values, weird characters and mic skills. Has it always been this way, or have your tastes changed over time? I tend to judge matches using a "bad, good, great, awesome" scale but i've never been one to use star ratings. I like a wrestler that has mic skills and can wrestle but if the guy is entertaining and isn't the greatest technically (Santino as a recent example) i'm still a fan. 11. Where do you "draw the line" with the whole "suspended disbelief" deal? I just sit back and enjoy it. I usually just sit back now with a bunch of buddies on PPV night and predict what move or run-in is going to happen next. 12. Do you attend live events? I've been to 3 house shows in Sudbury, Wrestlemania in Detroit and a Raw in Toronto last May. 13. If applicable, what are the best and worst experiences you've had going to a show live? Best experience I ever had was by far Wrestlemania. 80 thousand people in the building was an awesome experience, even if the crowd sat on their hands most of the night. Undertaker's entrance and title win was the highlight of the night for me. The worst experience I ever had was at my first house show in Sudbury. My buddy was wearing a United States jacket and Dave Hebner spotted him (we had ringside seats) and asked him to be Lex Luger's flag bearer. I was insanely jealous. 14. What are your favourite matches, moments, or events? Favourite match ever was Bret vs Austin at Wrestlemania 13. That match and the aftermath turned around the WWF in my opinion. 15. Freestyle Add any closing remarks you feel are absolutely necessary to letting TSM know your thoughts on wrestling. People need to stop over-analyzing ever little petty detail and just sit back and enjoy.

    The Office Season 5

I'd hang out with Stanley cause he tells it how it is and doesn't really give a fuck. Kelly's character does nothing for me and Angela is at least entertaining.

    The Hockey Thread

I've never seen so many comebacks and games go back and forth in a one week span like this. Oilers rally from 5 down and almost tie it, Nashville nearly does the same in a wild game against the Flames. How many leads have the Islanders blown since their epic collapse against the Habs this past Saturday? They blew another one to Atlanta tonight.

    Fix Your Team...

The Oilers are in fairly decent shape with the young players they've been developing. The 2 things I would do right now are get rid of Roloson's 39 year old 3.5 million cap hit, even if it's only for a 4th rounder. The next thing is to get a legitimate 35 goal+ sniper to play with Ales Hemsky. Since it's a given that Hemsky will always be pass first and has a hard time shooting the puck, that should be the Oilers #1 priority next off-season. The Blue Jays need to make an offer A.J can't refuse, but it's going to be tough with the Yankees going into buy mode this offseason. If they can't get Burnett back into the rotation they need to load up on as much offense as they possibly can. They absolutely need to make offers to Mark Teixera and Manny Ramirez in that order. Greg Zaun won't be returning and that's an addition by subtraction. The Raptors and Bills I don't end up watching enough of so I can't make a fair assessment with them. One thing I will say about the Bills is that they absolutely need to dump Lossman (spelt that way on purpose) for a last round pick in the NFL draft. Someone earlier in the thread said it best when mentioning he can't keep the defense off the field.

    What's the worst

Mick Foley in his book mentions he wrestled in a town called Polka that actually named their sports teams the DOTS. That's both awesome and horrible.

    2008-09 NHL Preseason

    1. Who will win the Hart Trophy? Malkin 2. Who will win the Vezina Trophy? Nabokov who stands on his head for a struggling Sharks team that barely makes the playoffs. 3. Who will win the Calder Trophy? Steven Stamkos 4. Who will win the Art Ross Trophy? Crosboy 5. Who will win the Richard Trophy? Alexander Ovechkin 6. What team had the best offseason? Detroit. They narrowly won the Hossa sweepstakes over my Oilers so gotta go there. 7. What team had the worst offseason? Toronto. Yes they are rebuilding but the contact given to Jeff Finger is the reason they go here. 8. Which team will be the most improved over last year? Chicago 9. Which team will be the biggest disappointment? San Jose 10. What was the best offseason move? Hossa to Detroit 11. What was the worst offseason move? Jeff Finger to Toronto 12. Who will make the playoffs that didn't last year? Chicago, Edmonton, Florida 13. Who will not make the playoffs that did last year? Colorado 14. Who would make your All-NHL first team? Ovechkin, Crosby, Savard, Lidstrom, Mike Green, Nabokov 15. Who will be the division winners? Montreal, New York Rangers, Carolina, Minnesota, Dallas, Detroit 16. Eastern Conference Final: New York Rangers vs Montreal Canadiens 17. Western Conference Final: Detroit vs Dallas again 18. Stanley Cup Final (and winner): Detroit vs New York Rangers. Detroit wins in 6. 19. Who will win the Conn Smythe Trophy? Hank Zetterberg. 20. Make one bold prediction. Chicago goes on a bit of a tear this year, losing a very close and emotional series to Detroit in 7 games in the 2nd round.

    All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft

I'm interested to see how this man would have done if he wasn't a jobber, but that was his main role for the last 25 years. The most legendary jobber in WWE history and someone I would put in a feud (not sure who though) is my next selection... The Brooklyn Brawler!

I guess a little sex appeal doesn't hurt. Even though she was nowhere near Trish Stratus, she was a huge part of the attitude era, more so for her looks than her wrestling ability. She was involved in a very good mixed tag match at Wrestlemania 14 and will be my first women's champion as well as the companies eye candy. I select... Sable!

    All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft

Been busy with work the last little while and admittingly haven't been paying much attention. I do like the Beefcake pick for a WWE Cartoon character pick. Anyways, my next pick is no laughing matter. Former United States Champion and first victim of Goldberg, I add a very poor mans Bigelow to the roster in terms of agility. Hugh Morris!

    All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft

my version of a hardcore division would feature brawl for all type matches with all the guys that can "bring it". Shamrock and Stu immediately come to mind. So does this man. He didn't have much of a career as a pro wrestler, with the highlight being a lame Nitro match against Goldberg and being turned into a member of 3 count. Vince Russo also wanted him to win a battle royal for the vacant wcw title, which ultimately got him canned. My next selection is... Tank Abbott
  25. I can understand Bret being a little upset at being #14, but having a huge fit over it and making people leave? I'm a huge fan of the Hitman, but this is starting to get a little ridiculous. There's discussion on the Wrestling Classics board that Bret's medical conditions (stroke, concussions) have been causing this behavior. That's not the case. Bret has been like this dating back to 1997. I hope to see the video of this in the next couple of days.
