WWE General Discussion - December 2007

For Flair ,The Rocky moment would be cool, but I would do it something like this and at Mania: They could do something like heels running in and a former horseman comes out each time to run them off. Sadly the horseman get beat down. The heels get in the ring and beat the living hell out of flair, flair of course gigs and bleeds like a pig. The lights go out...When they come back on... Its Sting (If TNA is stupid enough to leave out the no compete again...Man are they dumb over there ) Sting clears the ring. Heel stumbles towards Flair and in classic Flair fashion, rolls up the heel. Pulls the tights and puts his feet on the rope for the 123 Thats good stuff.

  14. Hey look Booker is booking TNA guys... Booker T's PWA 10/24 results -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted on 10/25/107 by Arturo Zaldana Booker T's PWA returned to The Pasadena Convention Center on October 24, 2007. The event was entitled "Halloween Havoc". Attendance was around 600. Now for the FULL report! (One quick thing, you'll know how I said that PWA debuted a new set, well I finally saw it and is similiar to Ring Of Honor's set just so the people can pictured it) The show started off with the U.S Navy army presenting the colors of the flag of the United States, along with the commanders, 6 youngsters were announced as navy trainees, and that they were going to serve the U.S Navy really soon, the segment ended with a huge applause from the audience. 1st Match) Kelly Kevin def. "The Joker" Nemesis Kelly Kevin is actually a male wrestler, he has the physical body of a female wrestler, so he dressed as a female wrestler (and has long hair) he is the "Self-Proclaim Diva of PWA". "Joker' Nemesis is a spin-off of the Joker from Batman. Match starts, Nemesis and Kevin lock up, Kevin took Nemesis to the corner of the turnbuckle and let go of the 5 count then he blew a kiss to Nemesis in which the crowd was laughing, Nemesis come back with a half-nelson hold, Kevin successfully broke the hold, but Nemesis kicked Kevin in the gut irished whiped him to the turnbuckle and then did the 10-punches but Kevin got out of the way at the 5th punch. As Nemesis turned around Kevin comes with a neckbreaker, he goes for the cover but only gets a 2 count. Kevin picks up Nemesis but Nemesis give him a forearm and followed by 3 closelines, then Nemesis executed the Forward Russian LegSweep went for the cover but got a 2 count, Nemesis picks up Kevin, he irished whipped him across the ring but Kevin did a shoulder takedown and went and sat on Nemesis putting his skirt on Nemesis face and got the 3 count for the victory. *Adrian announces that later on tonight PWA backstage correspondent "Johnny Bravo" will conduct a interview with the new young lions of the PWA who will make their debut really soon. 2nd Match) Cyrus w/ Lady Poison def. Samson (Quick Reminder: Lady Poison indeed had a dark match against Gail Kim at the last TNA Tapings she went under the name "Jessica James") The good thing about this match is that it wasn't a squash match as Samson is really big. Anyways the match starts with Samson hitting forearms to Cyrus to try to ware him down, but it does not effect Cyrus, Samson tries to do a irish whip but can't because Cyrus is big and strong. So Samson goes to the ropes and did a flying closeline but that didn't effect Cyrus either, after Cyrus had enough he picked up Samson and started punishing him really hard. Samson fights back with back to forth punches across Cyrus stomach/chest. Cyrus blocks a punch and kicked him in the gut, Cyrus went to the ropes and did the Big Boot Kick but Samson got out of the way, Lady Poison then gets on the ring apron and calls Samson and spits poison mist at his eyes, this gives Cyrus the advantage and nails a powerful powerbomb to Samson. Cyrus goes for the cover and gets the victory. 3rd Match) V.I.P w/ Shad Gaspard def. Gustavo Mendoza w/ Team Cuba Former WWE Superstar "Shad Gaspard" now resides here in Houston as he appeared in VIP corner under the name "The Beast". Well actually VIP wasn't supposed to have somebody in the corner, you see last month event VIP had a match with Gustavo Mendoza in which he won but after the match Team Cuba jumped VIP and he had nobody to have his back, so this time he said that he is going to even the score by bringing a special guest in which this case was Shad Gaspard. Match starts as VIP & Gustavo are wrestling in the ring, Shad scares off Rubio & Juan Diaz (Team Cuba), back in the ring Gustavo is dominating VIP and Shad well let's say "Coached" him throughout the match. VIP goes for martial style kicks to Gustavo, at this time Rubio is waving the Cuba flag's but Shad kept on scaring him off. Back to the match Gustavo tries to confuse VIP but that didn't effect him, Gustavo then has him in a half-nelson hold and Shad starts to get the crowd to clap so VIP can break the hold and he indeed did as after he broke it he went to the ropes and nailed Gustavo with a closeline, Team Cuba starts yelling at VIP, Shad of course comes and scares them off (again). The finish came when VIP did his own version of MVP's "Ballin Elbow" (Elbow drop with theatrics) move. Aftermath: Team Cuba gets in the ring and starts to attack VIP but Shad comes and literally beat the crap out of them, he sends Juan Diaz to the corner and grabs Rubio, he irished whipped him and nailed a tremendous spinebuster to Rubio. *Johnny Bravo is standing by as he introduces 2 students of the PWA that will make their debut soon, one was E.J Smooth and I couldn't hear the other guy name, so they both did a short promo as they introduced themselves. *Intermission time, nothing special in particular happen. *1st Ever Halloween Costume Contest, judged by Booker T & Sharmell (Her costume was a Cleopatra outfit but without the afro......(I think it was a similiar dress to Cleopatra, I am not sure so do not think she wore the worst costume), Anyways Booker T said that he would want to answer everybody's question and that was "Did he & Sharmell quit the WWE" and he said that indeed they quit, the crowd started clapping and chanting "PWA, PWA". So the contest got underway and there was 9 participants (Let me see if I remember the costumes), Participant #1: Was a little girl dressed as in the late 60's & 70's outfit. Participant #2: A spinoff of Jay Lethal's costume, except it was all blue. Participant #3: Was a girl dressed as the "Pink Princess". Participant #4: Was a toddler dressed in a bear costume (Who was sleeping). Participant #5: A boy dressed as "Johnny Nitro/Joey Matthews". Participant #6: A little girl dressed as Queen Sharmell. Participant #7: A male Nun (yea I know LOL). Participant #8: I am guessing it was a army "Ghost" or something. Participant #9: Another toddler dressed as the devil. So Sharmell told the rules that each person was going to show off their costume and the winner was going to be decided with the most . All the participants "model" their costumes, Booker T was then asked to choose the 3 finalists and he picked: The Male Nun, the toddler with the bear costume (still sleeping) & the boy dressed as Joey Matthews/Johnny Nitro. Sharmell then told that the "Pink Princess" had to be one of the finalists, so there was 4. The winner of the 2007 PWA Halloween Costume Contest is...........................(THE TODDLER IN A BEAR COSTUME) (STILL SLEEPING, LOL) his father got free tickets to the next month show. 4th Match) Kryll (Creet & AD Star w/ Lady Poison) vs Gabe Hollier & Surfin Surge ended in a No Contest after Dawg Chettum, Jared Steele & Ms. Rosa interfered. The PWA Tag Team Titles were on the line as last month event Gabe & Surge won a Non-Title Match against Kryll so they were awarded a PWA Tag Team Title Shot. Match starts with Kryll attacking Gabe & Surge as they were making their entrance. Alot of blind tags were made by Kryll as the dominated Gabe, he tried to fight back but couldn't but finally made the hot tag and Surge came in and closeline Kryll. Lady Poison was getting frustrated at ringside, Surge had controlled the match but Kryll came back with blind tags. This brought all 4 guys in the ring, Gabe threw AD Star at ringside and Surge threw Creet at ringside. Gabe came and did a flying crossbody to AD Star at ringside, meanwhile Creet on the other side of the ring kept on punishing Surge. The referee started the 10 count, Kryll & Gabe are back in the ring and nailed Gabe with their double team finishing move, Creet went for the cover but..................... Dawg Chettum & Jared Steele & Ms. Rosa came to ringside and attacked Kryll & the team of Gabe & Surge, at ringside Ms. Rosa and Poison had a catfight (CATFIGHT!!!!!!!!!, CATFIGHT!!!!!!!!!, CATFIGHT!!!!!!!!, ok that's enough, lol) the crowd got up on their feet, just as if it was a old fashion ECW catfight. Dawg & Jared started hitting Kryll, Gabe & Surge with nightsticks as well as Rosa did to Poison. They got their handcuffs out and handcuffed Kryll, Gabe & Surge to the ropes. BUT Rosa handcuffed Poison to the steel post, in where Poison was layed out in the steel stairs. She got back in the ring and raised Dawg & Jared hand. As all 3 members are at ringside Dawg comes and kicks the steel stairs in which Poison was laying which send Poison to the concrete floor and to top it off the steel stairs right on her (still handcuffed). Referees & PWA Staff came and helped Kryll, Gabe, Surge & Poison (who was knocked out) backstage. 5th Match) Jay "Black Machismo" Lethal def. "The Pride of Pasadena"......wait a minute....."The Pride" Chris Adams. Chris was the hometown hero but recently he turned heel and started bashing the crowd, in which the crowd did not like. Out comes Jay with a big pop. Before the match starts he tells a mini story about the time when Booker T and himself were in WCW. Match starts with Chris manipulating and making fun of Lethal. Chris comes with a headlock to Lethal, followed by some arm drags by Lethal, then a perfect hurricarana off the top ropes. Chris comes back with vicious chest chops as both men exchanged chops, Chris sends Lethal to the corner and nails a strong European Uppercut. Lethal fights back with some forearms and throws Chris to ringside, Jay was preparing to do a suicide dive but Chris chicken out. Chris then comes back to the ring and as Lethal is distracted by the fans, Chris comes from behind and hits Lethal. Chris irished whipped Lethal, but Lethal ducks and that allows for Chris to do a sunset flip but misses it, Lethal then did the "Lethal Combination" move to Chris and finish it off with a 3rd rope diving elbow drop. *In-Ring Segment: Adrian announces PWA newest Diva, Jessica Hatch! She makes her way down to the ring and gets the mic and says that she is happy that she is now training with the PWA, she said that she thanks all the fans that voted her in the 2007 WWE Diva Search and that she is here to STAY in the PWA as she is going to start training and wrestle for us really soon. She send out a message to Ms. Rosa & Lady Poison "Watch out Rosa & Poison, I am going to be the top diva here in the PWA". 6th Match) Brett Idol def. Neico to capture the PWA Heavyweight Title This was the main event, Neico second title defense was against Brett. Match starts with a quick "warm up" wrestling moves from both men, then they start to wrestle as Brett gets the upperhand. A really good match, for some reason the crowd was kinda "quiet" throughout the match just a little bit. Neico goes for the closeline, Brett comes and kicks Neico to the stomach, then sends him to the corner, he starts kicking Neico then throws him at ringside, Brett then comes and nail the "Suicide Dive" to Neico, he brings him back to the ring. Brett goes for the top rope but here comes Neico who jumped, they were fighting to see who got the top rope suplex, Brett got the upperhand as he kicked Neico in the face. Neico is laying in the ring, Brett then executes the "450 Splash" to Neico, goes for the cover and picked up the victory. The crowd went nuts as Brett held the PWA Heavyweight Title. End of the show...... Good event tonight, PWA returns to The Pasadena Convention Center on NOVEMBER 28, 2007. Presale tickets will go on sale this Saturday morning at 10am (central Time). Appearing will be: PWA Heavyweight Champion Brett Idol, Neico, Kryll, Lady Poison, Dawg Chettum, Jared Steele, Jessica Hatch, Ms. Rosa and TNA SUPERSTAR: ABYSS!!!!!!! OAO 10/28/2007 Cyber Sunday Thread

Thought I would post this for people that didnt see the PPV like me: The WWE promo hits. - A video package airs showing the importance of the fan voting behind the Cyber Sunday concept. - A graphic opening then welcomes us to Cyber Sunday as we go live to the Verizon Center. A display of pyro goes off as well. - Rey Mysterio defeated Finlay in a Stretcher Match. The stretcher stipulation got 40% of the vote to the Shillelagh on a Pole Match and the No DQ Match. Fans in Washington, D.C. were really behind Mysterio and Finlay got some great heel heat. The object here is to put your opponent on the stretcher and push him to the finish line. A shillelagh ended up getting involved in the match with Finlay using it on Mysterio. The finish saw Mysterio hit the 619 on Finlay knocking him onto the stretcher at ringside followed by a big flip dive on Finlay over the stretcher. As Mysterio was wheeling Finlay to the finish line, the stretcher got caught on some cable cord. Looks like both improvised big time at this point as Finlay got off the stretcher, but got knocked back on it and Mysterio wheeeled him to the finish to get the win. - As noted on WWE.com, they are continuing the speculation that Matt Hardy won't be competing tonight against MVP after suffering an injury on Smackdown. They showed post-match photos of Hardy who was clearly banged up and required stitches to his forehead. They show MVP confronting Matt backstage saying he agreed with the medical professionals on not clearing him to compete tonight. Hardy said he still wanted to compete. MVP said he heard a decision has already been made for his opponents tonight to either be Mark Henry, The Great Khali or Kane with the WWE U.S. Title on the line. - At ringside, JBL was shown wearing a referee outfit saying the voting is close tonight. Voting is also available on WWE.com for tonight's U.S. Title Match involving MVP defending against either Mark Henry, The Great Khali or Kane. - A backstage promo was shown of Victoria and Kenny Dykstra dressed as Mr. Fuji and Yokozuna for Halloween. - CM Punk defeated The Miz to retain the ECW Championship. The Miz won 39% of the vote. Gotta say this was a big shock here. Lots of ground wrestling early on between the two, which might have been an indicator that they didn't think the voting was going to go this way at all. Fans in Washington, D.C. where chanting "YOU CAN'T WRESTLE" at The Miz. Despite the fan reaction, the match wasn't all that bad. Punk hit a quick bulldog on Miz that resulted in a two count. The finish saw Punk get the win with the Go To Sleep to retain the title. - Backstage, Mickie James was shown wearing a Native American costume, while Torrie Wilson was wearing a Washington Redskins jersey. - A video package aired looking at the current WWE Title situation. - Shawn Michaels won 59% of the vote to face Randy Orton tonight for the WWE Title. They announced the two losers would face each other in a singles match next. - Mr. Kennedy defeated WWE Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy in a Non-Title Bonus Match. Hardy sent Kennedy to the floor early on in the match, with Hardy taking out Kennedy by leaping over the top rope. Hardy took out Kennedy with a quick huricanranna back in the ring. Kennedy blocked a Twist of Fate attempt only to get the Whisper in the Wind. The finish, which went down rather quickly, saw Hardy miss a dropkick and hit his head on the mat allowing Kennedy to cover for the quick pinfall. - Backstage, Michelle McCool is dressed as Eve, while Melina is dressed like a Las Vegas showgirl. - A JBL video aired (very political like and rather funny) to get fans to vote for him. Mick Foley also went for the fans vote as well tonight with the classic "yeah!" line at the end. - Kane won 67% of the vote to earn a shot at the WWE U.S. Title against MVP. - Kane defeated WWE U.S. Champion MVP via countout - MVP retains the U.S. Title. The match started with MVP avoiding Kane early on. Kane sent MVP into the ring post and started working on his ribs. Kane continued to work on his ribs with numerous punches, knees and kicks. The finish saw MVP simply roll out and fall to the floor and accept the countout finish. The crowd didn't seem to like this finish and who would for $40? - Another "Save_Us" video aired. - Promo for Survivor Series on November 18 aired. - Backstage, Layla is dressed as a cop and Kelly Kelly is dressed up like a ganster. - Backstage, WWE Champion Randy Orton talked about his upcoming title defense against Shawn Michaels. A video aired of Orton taking out HBK in the past and how tonight would be no different. - Shawn Michaels defeated WWE Champion Randy Orton via DQ; Orton retains the WWE Title. Early on, Orton caught HBK with a big uppercut. They started exchaning blows in the ring until Orton took HBK down and started working on his left elbow that was taped up. HBK got a close pinfall after after counting a back drop attempt by Orton. Orton then got in a series of offense on HBK with a quick backbreaker. HBK responded with an flying elbow off the top, but Orton moved. HBK countered an RKO attempt by Orton into a close backslide pin. HBK finally connected with the flying elbow. HBK started to tune up the band as the fans got behind him. The finish saw HBK go for the Sweet Chin Music, but Orton ducked and low blowed HBK to cause the DQ. After the match, Orton looked to kick HBK in the head to put him out of action again until HBK jumped up to his feet and connected with the Sweet Chin Music on Orton. - A promo for WrestleMania 24 on March 30, 2008 aired. Tickets go on sale this Saturday. - We saw a shot of Brooke dressed as Jane (from the jungle) and Jillian Hall is dressed as Britney Spears. Jim Ross called this the worst Halloween costume contest ever. - The Street Fight stipluation won with 57% of the vote for Triple H vs. Umaga tonight. The crowd in Washington, D.C. didn't like this and obviously wanted to see a Steel Cage. - Triple H defeated Umaga in a Street Fight Match. The match started right away with both brawling at the entrance area when Umaga came out second. The action spilled into the audience a bit until they both made it to the ringside area. Triple H brought in a trash can and cracked it over the head of Umaga. They brawled to the outside again and Umaga sent Triple H into the steel steps. Umaga tried to use a steel chair on Triple H, but Triple H caught Umaga with a low blow followed by giving Umaga a DDT over the chair. Umaga went to the outside and removed the top of the announce tables at ringside. Umaga took out Triple H with a splash through the ECW announce table. The action spilled back into the ring and Umaga attempted a splash, but Triple H moved. The finish saw Triple H get a sledgehammer on the outside. Once inside, Umaga attempted a Samoan Spike but missed. Triple H caught Umaga with the sledgehammer followed by a Pedigree and got the pinfall. Very good match. - Mickie James won the Divas Halloween Costume Contest with 21% of the vote. - A video package runs highlighting tonight's World Heavyweight Title match between champion Batista and challenger The Undertaker. - Todd Grisham announced that over 13 million votes were cast for tonight's PPV. - Steve Austin won the special guest referee poll with 79% of the vote. JBL got into the ring to dispute the results. Mick Foley came down as well. Austin came out last. Austin took out Foley with a Stunner, but got a clothesline from JBL. Austin eventually came back and gave JBL a Stunner. - Batista defeated The Undertaker to retain the World Heavyweight Championship with Steve Austin as the special guest referee. Crowd in Washington, D.C. was really behind Undertaker tonight. Batista still got good reactions though and wasn't the complete heel in the match. Jerry Lawler had to sit in for JBL at the Smackdown booth along with Michael Cole. Early on, Batista countered an Old School attempt by Undertaker. Undertaker responded by dropping his leg across the neck of Batista on the ring apron. Batista countered another Old School attempt and connected with a big spinebuster on Undertaker. Undertaker responded with a big chokeslam as well. Batista with a Spear on Undertaker, but only got a close two count. Undertaker with a Last Ride on Batista and another kick out. Fans were really into the constant finisher attempts and kick outs. Batista took out Undertaker with another spinebuster and again got a two count. Batista then hit Undertaker with two Batista Bomb's and Undertaker kicked out of both. The finish saw Batista hit a third Batista Bomb and get the pinfall to retain the World Title. After the match, Batista celebrated his title victory and Undertaker stared him down from the ring teasing a possible rematch. Another solid match between these two guys. They just work really well together.

WWE General Discussion - October 2007

WWE continues to dismantle the ECW brand By Anna Elizabeth Anderson Oct 17, 2007 In a move that continues to defy business sense, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) took several steps in the past few days that continue its pattern of dismantling the resurrected ECW brand. First, WWE's website posted a storyline-driven article stating that ECW General Manager Armando Estrada and Smackdown GM Vickie Guerrero were having meetings that would see performers from both brands compete on both ECW on Sci Fi and Friday Night Smackdown. Since Smackdown and ECW already tour together, and both shows are taped on Tuesday, this is just the next step in WWE's swallowing of the ECW brand name. At the UK tapings for ECW, CM Punk revealed Kane to be his mystery partner against Big Daddy V, John Morrison, and The Miz; while Smackdown's Hillbillies appeared and defeated Elijah Burke and Nunzio in a tag team match. It was then reported by WrestlingNewsDesk.Com that entire episodes of the ECW program that air Tuesday nights on Sci Fi would be streamed on the WWE/ECW website, a bad sign especially in light of WWE's contract with Sci Fi to air the ECW program coming up for renewal at the end of the year. A former member member of Senior Management said recently, "ECW was the stuff of urban legend. It had a rabid fan base, created more memorable moments in the 1990s on their budget than WCW did with hundreds of millions of dollars, discovered more talent and created more memorable characters than anyone in history except WWE, and when it came back after 4 1/2 years, we charged 400 dollars per seat ringside for The Hammerstein Ballroom and sold it out. Not to mention a pretty impressive pay per view buyrate. Amazing how WWE puts their machine behind it and can't duplicate what was done with passion, creativity, a great fan base, and dedicated workers." The brand, which achieved worldwide cult status under the guru-like leadership of Paul Heyman, has been reduced to a WWE Tuesday night time killer, compared by one WWE creative team member, who for obvious reasons asked to remain anonymous, to "the waning days of WCW Thunder ..... at least last year, when it was struggling to find an identity between Vince, Stephanie, and Kevin Dunn's vision and the polar opposite vision of Paul Heyman, the show had some momentum as Big Show had heat, and characters were being established. Now, everyone knows this is just like Heat or Velocity." For those who never saw the original product, ECW was a groundbreaking promotion that forced the stale WWE (then WWF) and Eric Bischoff-lead WCW to take notice and change the way wrestling in North America is presented. Paul Heyman's completely different vision for professional wrestling became the state of the art booking and character development, so much so that he was named one of the Top 100 Marketers in the world by Advertising Age magazine in 2000. Despite the fact the company was already in free-fall due to the loss of the TNN (now Spike) network, Heyman's ability to create a worldwide audience with so few resources could not be overstated. In 2004, WWE released The Rise And Fall of ECW DVD, which became a worldwide phenomenon. It was only the 2nd DVD in WWE history to surpass 100,000 units sold, and is to this day the number two best selling wrestling or sports entertainment DVD worldwide, which well over 300,000 units sold. The success of the DVD lead to WWE resurrecting the brand, the first time in history that has ever happened, for the June 12, 2005 ECW ONE NIGHT STAND pay per view. One of the best-received pay per views in history, the event was a smash success, selling $400 ringside seats to the sold-out Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, and amassing over 350,000 pay per view buys. The show, which was written by Heyman, was a shocker to many backstage, as Vince allowed Heyman to produce not only the show with the agents but also announcers Joey Styles and Mick Foley. It was also the night of Heyman's now-famous shoot (inside, "truthful") comment to JBL, "the only reason you were WWE Champion for a year is because HHH didn't want to work Tuesdays!" ECW was brought back again as a stand-alone brand in 2006, debuting on Sci Fi after the 2nd Annual ECW One Night Stand, which saw one of the most heated WWE Title Matches of all time as Rob Van Dam beat John Cena for the WWE Championship. But immediately, WWE started changing the formula, and reports were that Paul Heyman and Vince McMahon clashed over the re-branding of ECW. Heyman was made the Lead Writer, and even turned heel on Van Dam, aligning himself (and reuniting) with The Big Show, who was crowned ECW World Champion in a riotous victory over RVD on July 4th in Philadelphia. But behind the scenes, McMahon continued to change things up without notice, and according to several sources, Heyman didn't want to just be like all the other agents and writers and duck for cover when Vince started one of his "Mr.McMahon-like" tirades. "Everyone was shocked the way Paul would stand up for what he believed in, and most of all he believed in himself," stated a writer who admits he avoids conflict with Vince because "I just want my check and don't care if that means just swallowing a lot of crap to do it." On December 3rd, Heyman and McMahon clashed heavily over the December To Dismember pay per view, and it all came to a head the next day in North Charleston, South Carolina, when Heyman and McMahon had what was described by someone who was in the building as "a very hot meeting." Heyman went home, and then reportedly didn't accept WWE's offer to continue working behind the scenes in developmental. Sometime in the past few months, either Heyman's contract expired, he quit, or he and WWE quietly agreed to a parting of the ways. Heyman is reportedly working on screenplays, and enjoying life away from the limelight at home with his two children. A report in New York's eclectic GOTHAMIST stated Heyman was working on a major Hi-Def digital deal with Mitchell Stuart of HQ Productions and Clear Channel's "Stripped Online: Raw and Real" music series.
