Simple solution - wellness suspensions kick in the day after PPVs. That way you tie up the loose ends and then get the guys off TV.

Most underrated Wrestlemania matches of all time?..

Hogan vs Slaughter, for sure. Good match. -
Most underrated Summerslam matches of all time

I have a soft spot for Michaels vs Martel. Probably for Martel's facial expressions in the build-up, but still. The main event in 1988 (Hogan/Savage vs Andre/Dibiase) is not bad at all. -
Hart vs Piper. Two of my favourite guys ever. Great match. LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG three count.

I love the 'big match music' as it is known (to me at least!). Adds a certain tension to the upcoming battle.

Was actually in 1999. He ambushed Bart Gunn.

The show was shown on S4C, the Welsh language channel, in maybe 1992-1995. Orig Williams was behind it I believe. Most of it was World of Sport style (Daddy was on the early shows), but I seem to remember seeing the Road Warriors and Doink later on in its run. Reslo was also broadcast in recent years on S4C Digidol.

I thought the pay-per-view was Degeneration X, whereas the stable was D-Generation X.

I want to see Glacier vs The Gambler.

Yeah, I think nWo 2000 was the proverbial 'jumping of the shark'. There was no real reason as such to have Hart, Hall, Jarrett and Nash (and later Steiner and The Harris Twins) go under the nWo moniker. Other than for merchandise, etc. of course. At least the red and black 'elite' version that faded away in 1999 was still connected to the original group, lineage-wise.

Apologies for going off topic, but that sounds a hell of a one-hour show.

Davey Boy was half of two of the greatest matches in WWF history. The match with Bret at SummerSlam is well documented, but the match with Owen Hart to determine the first European Champion is right up there with it. An absolute masterclass.

'Mr Wonderful' Paul Orndorff and 'Pretty' Paul Roma - 'Pretty Wonderful'. A good 'random yet logical' heel pairing that did some good stuff in 1994.

Hulk vs Bret. That was WCW's natural successor to the Hogan vs Sting feud. The seeds were event planted in the Hogan/Sting 'blowoff' match, but then of course that turned out not to be the blowout at all and the momentum petered out.

What's causing all this?

Weren't Headbangers in ECW for a cup of coffee?

As long as Jim Powers returns, I'm a happy man. Or The Gambler, of course.

Tombstone on the escalator That is all.

ECW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot

What was the deal with Jean Pierre Lafitte/Carl Oulette's brief stay in the summer of 2000? And did WCW poach him to basically piss off ECW? -
Wasn't that like an instrumental take on Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. He used it on the post-September 11th SmackDown in 2001 for sure.

The 14 person (?) tag match from Fall Brawl, pitting the Natural Born Thrillers against Rey, Juvi and various others, is tremendous. Shame about the non-finish, but that was just down to bad luck (with Paul Orndorff's injury) rather than the booking.

The Maestro descending from the circle in *shudders* 1999 WCW has to take all the biscuits. Not just because it was ludicrous, but the announcers didn't mention who or what it was and the whole character was ignored for months afterwards. This could fit in the 'WTF' moments thread as well now I think of it - a man playing a piano descending from the ceiling during a Sid Vicious match. What?

Does Andy Kaufman count?

Kanyon's Flatliner renamed the 'I'm Betta Than You' - what? Awful name for a finisher. Stratus' 'Chick Kick' is not so cool, and the 'Edgecution' is a little annoying as its quite a lame a pun. 'Edgeucator' would be much better IMO. Anyway, what oithers are out there?
