I thought there was a quotation yesterday by a pitcher (for either team) essentially saying he was going to hit somebody. EDIT: Jake Peavy: "I didn't appreciate that. Just play the game," Peavy said after the Padres were defeated 4-1 at Wrigley Field. "They pay him $136 million to hit home runs. They don't pay him to be a circus act on the field. If I think a player shows me up like that, I like the next guy to take one in the stinkin' ribs." What a fucking piece of shit. Grow up. But the debate on whether the players should "police" themselves can go on forever.

Is there some kind of feud going on with the cubs vs. padres?

Mr. McMahon "dead" - Now for the "whodunit" angle.

Yeah, kudos for putting his job on the line to make us smarks happy. -
Was that a "what?" chant?
-
Owen voices? Anyway, they have to replay the ENTIRE thing? Eh, at least we get to see the hesitating leg

Why are the prices so low? I'm worried about spoiling too. With the media coverage and blantant spoiling of the Sopranos finale (esp. in the days of tivo and dvr), I feel like you won't be able to look at ANY media outlet. Even then, people at work and at school (for the kids) are going to be casually talking about it. It's going to be difficult to remain in the dark esp., like someone already mentioned, if someone dies.

Quite the investigative reporting. Now if he only told us that 5 hours ago, along with where this angle was going, that would've been something.
-
I don't think it was a backtrack. I think it was just Vince & the stuntman changing places, with the stuntman's foot coming down to "show" that Vince was really in there. That did come off as a ittle awkward.
-
And someone else made already sure to inform readers that he may not have actually died:

I expect them to do a whodunit angle, let it run it's course, THEN bring him back, b/c he needs to be on TV. Either that, or he's essentially writing himself off TV.
-
So, they've never done a death angle? Not that I'm against it, I think I would enjoy this playing out, but we've had Kate Vick and every other angle, but no death?
-
You do realize they've "killed" off the undertaker a few times, right?
-
Ah, the bed pan. I saw one the other day and laughed. No one really got it.

Where the hell does that tuesday joke come from?

Aww, our little Lashley is graduating!
-
WWE.com Just a thought...Why not Add Lashley and just make it a Three Way Dance Elimination Style. That way if you get eliminated first you get the third pick...and next person eliminated gets the second Pick...and the winner Picks first.... Guess that makes too much sense..but im sure they have something else to make up for it... See, if the brands were 'teams,' then you would want to get the win for your brand, but if I'm in a match, I'd throw it b/c I don't want to face the best superstars on my show. That's why these brand vs. brand stuff doesn't get me excited. btw, I've never watched a draft special. Do they actually pick who gets drafted, or is it random?

One and Only Star Wars Geekiness Thread
hyperchord24 replied to Black Lushus's topic in Television & Film
Yeah, I just realized how lightly Lucas takes some the EU. Like with Kashyyyk: In Rebel Dawn, it's depicted as a planet with large trees in which the Wookies live. Of the seven levels, no wookie had ever been down past the 4th. It's also said that wookie legend doesn't even speculate on what's on the surface. Then in RotS, Lucas depicts wookies on the surface and using land and water faring vessels. If every piece of media goes through Lucas before being offered to the public, you would think he would keep some kind of consistency. -
WWE General Discussion for June 2007

Not to mention inefficient -
Why do these umps feel the need to put themselves over instead of just officiating the damn game? Have umps ever been this, for lack of a better word, involved?
-
The maturity of the players and umps is astounding. Renteria with the dirty slide on a guy who had nothing to do with the previous play and the ump does nothing?

WWE General Discussion for June 2007
hyperchord24 replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
The only bad thing I see happening with this angle is that they may be worked more stiffy due to what happened last time if they start to laugh again. This may result in some real injuries, which may result in some lawsuits. But then again, I'd imagine they sign waivers and the like. Either way I'll be interested to see them get roughed up. -

Wait, didn't the last time the jackasses were involved in a wrestling angle, they laughed when they were supposed to sell something? -
Religious Tolerance & Religious Moderation Are a Joke
hyperchord24 replied to Big Ol' Smitty's topic in Current Events
This is turning into a WWJD argument rather than one of the existence of a higher power. All this bible quoting is getting out of hand. The OP was asking for proof, right? What proof do we have that the bible is indeed the word of God? It could be just some bedtime story written a long time ago. This is a very simplistic way of looking at things, but I think the discussion is getting bogged down and off track. It's silly to believe in God just because the bible says you should. I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but following the bible, slavery should still be legal. -
Striker looked lost in that match.

that was a sweet dopkick during the pin in that tag match
