That one really had me fooled. I figured it was a work after nothing was really mentioned of it on the news (yeah, I was young). Anyway, how did they work the snake bite? If you tell me it was a fake snake I'll feel really stupid. EDIT: Wikipedia says it was devenomed.

Did he turm at SS or RAW when he smacked Duggan? It was so out of the blue, I hardly paid any attention to it.

No way. Poker is HUGE. Everybody . . . and I mean everybody at my work plays it, follows it, and talks about it. It's not going anywhere . . . yet.
-
Ah, but MVP does.

He could care about fame, but unless he starts going down the Pete Rose path, he probably is just happy with his money.
-
"I'm not here to talk about the past" was the absolute worst thing he could've said. Of course, McGuire could probably care less if he got in. He's made his money. He owes nothing to baseball in his mind.

You're kidding . . . they actually did that to the poor guys?

Re: Soriano deal: A lot of people have been saying that there would be a lot of clubs this offseason with a lot of money to spend, but not a lot of quality free agents. So I'm not surprised. Clubs should be, however, overpaying for PITCHING, not bats. Because as everyone should know, pitching matters in the postseason, not how many runs you score

I don't understand something -- why does Orton claps his hands when he's in the air for the missed-dropkick spot where his opponent holds on to the ropes. I've seen him do that spot twice and both times, it's very visable. Why does he do this? It's not like he's trying to generate a sound like a normal kick.

That sums up the idiocy of TNA right now.
-
Like that isn't overused either.

I hate MVP disscusions. Mainly because they all degenerate into what MVP means. I feel like MVP was just a term that was supposed to mean the guy with the best stats, but evolved into the most valuable player for your team. I hate having to make the separation and wish that they would clarify what it meant. That's my two cents.

So, what was the crowd reaction to Cena? Did they have to edit much?

Did spike do away with the sat. night replay?

Word. If he'd put that hit on Palmer he would have been run from the game, but WR's and RB's can get murdered with no repercussions apparently. Ah, you forget -- Michael Vick makes the NFL more money than TO or LT.

True. Hasn't he only had one good season in his career? RE: Giants/Bears: Have defenses figured out Grossman? Or is it just rookie mistakes and he's a superstar in the making?

Did you watch Raw this week? Did you see the end of the show, specifically? People potentially tuning in to see the show are greeted by shit like that each and every week, and it does far more damage than hearing that their champ smokes reefer. The latter you only hear about if you look through the proper channels (this site, others like it, the local area's news), the former you can experience every week by watching their show. The company was reluctant to let RVD be a top guy and one slip-up was all they needed to justify moving him out of the picture and taking away the #1 star of a promotion that only a minority of WWE management wants to see succeed in the first place. Everyone tries to make this into a drug argument, but that's not what the issue was. WWE is already a complete and utter joke to the public in the first place, and very little outside of Vince raping and murdering his whole family could make the perception of the company worse. Also, having a straight edge champion isn't exactly going to make WWE's image look better considering the general public's view on sXe'rs isn't that pretty anyways. The Rock was generally as clean looking as you could get and even despite his massive mainstream popularity, the media still (rightfully) observed the WWE as a side-show freak act. Hulk Hogan was an admited steroid user and his popularity didn't decline as a result of it, Steve Austin has repeated domestic violence charges and he's still beloved by the fans and still a media name. Rob Van Dam is a no-body and his actions didn't matter by any means. To pretend that he's a image liability because of his love for pot (which has been a part of his character for the past 12 years) and ignore the fact you regularly have worse image situations such as death in star wrestlers because of drug abuse, rampant homosexual overtones, exposed male ass, questionable business ethics and many others. The RVD arrest was just the thing they needed to get what they wanted. WWE knew RVD was the ONLY legit name attached to ECW and had no choice but to use him to jump start the new brand. However, they really never wanted him in the spot to start with. These are some great post. I think they beg the following questions: when does his contract run out? Does he care he's being misused and does he have any interest in TNA, ROH or Japan?

Fun match between Punk and Knox. Knox stunk it up, but I see how longer matches play more to Punk's strengths. I'm curious as to what everyone else thought.

Yeah, that's pretty much true. They have guys like Clayton and Salsbury arguing PTI style, who really have to try to disagree with eachother. It's as if the director said "okay, remember you HATE him!" Clayton tries to act all tough when they disagree, and it comes out like a bully's just taken his lunch money. It is really awkward to watch.

37. Along with Christian, he gave us the Con-chair-toe

A small case could be made for Big Show

I hate how Weaver's going to get overpaid this season, and all he did was produce for 1 postseason in the last 6 years.
-
Same here, I hate the Bills because of this Heh, try living in Buffalo. The Bills infest your system like a disease.

I think the thing that gets lost in all of this is that Michael Irvin is an idiot.
