Sucks for RVD -- performing in his crowd as their champ, who's about to lose the belt for a stupid mistake
-
HUSTLE LOYALTY RESPECT It's not that hard to understand. It isn't a "wigger" thing. They just don't make sense being on the same t-shirt
-
Ohh, yet another chide at WCW . . . "this week in 'wrestling' history"
-
Edit: I'm such a stupid mark
-
a samoan savage with gold teeth . . . yup, it's WWE

insert "you can throw me down anytime" obligatory joke . . .

Then why the bait and switch?

Does anyone else smell a heyman heel turn?

I don't dig the lungblower as Carlito's new finisher. If I hear "Backcracker" again, I swear I'm gonna vomit

odd intro to the match

I agree. One thing that we haven't touched on is that. I don't care if it was "bound" to happen. RVD should've known that something like this would kill the ME push he's getting now. He learned to play politics and call HHH the best wrestler out there, he should've calmed down on the drugs. RVD and Sabu deserve what ever they get. They should've known better.

What is Sabu's promo style?

As usual, you are wrong. Brooke's single is currently charted in the top 100 in radio play, consistant air-play on MTV, and is #2 on Myspace most watched videos list. This indicates that she has been doing well enough with WWE's assistance. Thanks to her looks, the name and the pre-set national exposure via the TV show, Brooke Hogan has the ability to draw at least a modest amount while she still can. It's doubtful she'll have a long standing career because her limitations are obvious and novelty of being Hulk Hogan's daughter wears off. The music industry frowns on wrestling, as does most of the mainstream. Brooke is already facing a struggle via the connection with her father but it's a double edged sword because that is her 'in" right now. Brooke isn't media-savvy but her father is. The entire VH1 show, is built around Hogan despite how much they try to say it's really about the kids. It's the Hulk Hogan show. Hulk is looking out only for himself and if he can use his daughter to get more attention, he'll do it. SummerSlam is another pay-day for him and using his daughter, in his mind is publicity despite the fact the market Brooke is playing to is NOT the market that her father plays too. I doubt her album even cracks the top 20 or so when it does actually come out. She will get some play because of who's daughter she is, but she like many other pop singers are talentless hacks. I would be suprised if she even hits gold status on her record. Well, if so called "talentless hacks" are turning a profit, what's to stop Brooke?

He got mad at Eddie Guerrero for busting out a Camel Clutch, saying it was "his move." Of course, he didn't realize Eddie's father invented the move. When management got wind of this, they said "Eddie's a legend in this business. He does what he wants." I think I read that in the Eddie thread

It adds another World Title reign?

I've seen an ECW match with hm (not the "new" ECW) where he was hung up on the top rope, took a chair shot in the head, and while his opponent was turned, stopped selling the chair, and did a springboard sidekick. I'd say RVD and Cena are equals when it comes to the art of selling. A ddt is about the only thing I've seen RVD sell well.
-
agreed 100%. You know, so many people have an opinion on Cena, and love to talk about him. People here may resent that as a reason to consider him a top teir guy, but for a while I would watch RAW just for the crowd reactions (and consequently Cena and WWE's reaction to the crowd) and mark out like a little kid when they started booing him.

OAO ECW Week 4 on Sci-Fi, July 4th
hyperchord24 replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
Have Edge throw the ECW belt in the trash on live T.V.! C'mon, Vince you know you want to! bury the new ECW just like you destroyed them during the invasion angle, and the old WCW. -
The question is, how can we punish WWE for their continued incompetence? Sue them? Put them out of business? Seriously? What can you do. They still make money.

He didn't get along with anybody backstage

People, people please . . . A rehash of last week? So what? They need to develop rutines so the crowd sees what these guys are all about. Did it develop new storylines? Yes. Debut more new guys? Yes. Have good wrestling? Yes. It is leagues of anything you will see on RAW. I thought Angle/RVD was WWE's match of the year so far. Entertained the hell out of me. The WWE crowd seemed to buy what this show was about. That's what they want to do anyway, since the ECW faithfull crapped all over the house ahow. But if those idiots are willing to give Vince money just to chant "this show sucks," the hell with them. I find it insanely funny how the ECW/SD crowd love RVD, while the RAW crowd hates him. Marks are incredibly stupid. "We hated Cena for a while, but by gorsh I'll cheer for him now 'cause I gotta stay faithful to RAW."
-
This, I don't understand. I admit RVD is getting stale, and is only fun to watch in an ECW ring, but why were the idiot marks booing him?
-
Why is that? ECW is falling into the trap of "we love our product but we hate each other" lame ass gimmick. It happened during the RAW v. SD feud and in TNA fro while. It's retarded. SD sure loved Orton when he won at SS last year, then they all wondered why he turned on them. TNA's roster for a while were screaming "lok at us! Look at our product! I'm going to beat the crap out this guy I'm in the ring with, but I really don't know why." That's the problem that the Angle/RVD match has. No real drama as to why they're getting in the ring with each other -- which is why it screams schmoz finish with Edge saying he's "showing up" tomorrow.
