Number one contender tournament on RAW
hyperchord24 replied to MikeJordan23's topic in The WWE Folder
Even marks can see through this garbage. They know HHH will win, and they know why Edge isn't in the tourny and the kayfabe reason isn't so far from the real reason. Why HHH -- you know what? I don't even know why I bother. In 20 years HHH will be the 35 time champ and there's not a damn thing we can do. -
Would Matt Morgan be a significant threat to Joe? Now I realize he's not exactly X-division caliber, but hey, Joe's beaten all of them up anyway.
-
The Acolytes were first booked this way
-
I could see an angle developing w/him and big show. During big show and HHH's feud, HHH could say his going to bring in some protection for one reason or another, and it's someone from his past -- like an old nemisis. That would mean Hogan would have to play heel, and I don't know if he, Vince or anyone else wants to see that.
-
Do these t-shirts neuter his image? I think the first 3 do.
-
How sarcastic did he sound?
-
What's the gorilla position? I also noticed that during all the non-wrestling segemnts and especially during Vinnie Mac's promos, Joey doesn't say a word. When he first started, he used to call the initial lock-up and collar and elbow tie-up. I didn't know that's what it was before Joey called it. I don't hear him call those anymore.

Smackdown Spoilers for the Febuary 3rd Show

By manegement, they mean management minus HHH, Vinve and Steph, right? -
Where did you hear that? I know when they started on Spike, they were estimated anywhere from $20-25 Million in debt. Perhaps the DVD and Video game deals have brought in some money? Still, I'd like to know where they are operating in the red at. A news topic someone posted on this board not too long ago that Morphoplex offered to buy TNA for 5 Million, and that's how much they were in debt.
-
Last I heard, they are 5 mil in debt
-
That's a 22% increase. Anyway, any chance that "sting going away" is just a rumor?

Smackdown Spoilers for the Febuary 3rd Show

So, refresh my memory, why did Orton NOT win the rumble? If it's Angle vs. Orton at WM, then why include Rey? It doesn't make sense to not give him the rub against UT. I know it's just UT being UT, but don't you think that they would've asked UT if he would EVER give Orton the rub before they started a program together? If they want to push Orton to the top again, they should've kept with the Batista feud, but no, the feud with UT isn't done. Orton loses clean and keeps losing clean at midcarder status. What the heck is going on??? Is he slated to win the title at WM? Oh yeah, so is UT a heel or Angle? I'm so confused. -
Seeing Shelton tonight makes me want to start another thread in his honor. But I won't. I don't like Shelton anymore. The guy looks clumsy in the ring. His past few matches have all had botches in them. Not to mention he doesn't do the T-bone Suplex right anymore. The past two weeks, it looks like a powerslam. Am I right?

I don't really care about the fact that it's not good that your no. 1 babyface is the most over heel on the roster. All I care about are the crowd reactions. I loved that one RAW about a month ago, where the crowd was freakin' going crazy. It was quite a dynamic. A quick pop for some Cena offense, followed by resounding booing by the whole arena. While I don't like the title switch from Edge, easily the highlight of the night tonight for me will be their rematch and any mic time they give Cena. Just like cars that drive past a car accident, I can't help but watch Cena's babyface run tank again.
-
Cena hasn't gotten X-pac heat quite yet. Tonight, he may. I wouldn't be surprised by it at all.
-
I'm not conviced that Cena's heel heat wasn't all his fault. Let's face it. They couldn't shove him down our throats week after week doing these OMG overcoming the odds matches and expect him to be the company's babyface. If it were HHH vs. Cena instead of Angle in that drawn out, incredibaly unrealistic feud, would Cena still have gotten crapped on? I think so.
-
Fixed. Funny, trips gets mad at Angle for apparently not heeling it up enough, but gets mad at Edge for heeling it up to much. And I was about to get on Trips' side. Wait till he reads how the IWC rips him now.
-
Given the way the HHH has been booked over the past 5-6 years, does anyone else feel like the RR match is beneath him? I can find no reason why they he would participate in the RR match other than it's makes more sense in kayfabe for him to win the RR match, and then win the belt at WM, than him just saying "give me a shot at the title at WM" out of the blue.
-
It's obvious HHH will win
-
Threat to what? I sound like such a mark, I think that part is a little vague.
-
Since title changes don't occur very often, what were the ratings like when JBL won or when Cena or Batista won?
-
But the Canadian Destroyer doesn't look cool. I think it looks terrible. Some wrestling moves, while requiring a suspension of disbelief, still look good enough to live with, but the Destroyer just crosses the line into "too contrived" territory. Ehh, maybe. I guess the useage of the move is a sign of the times. No longer are we scared of a blatent contrived move. Most fans are smart enough to let it go as just a cool-looking finisher.
-
How about 2010? That'll long enough for us to get our research on this case. [/WWE logic]
-
As for the nonsensical Vince vs. HBK fued, SCSA HBK is not.

TNA needs to stop acting like WCW. First and formost, they need to have Sting actually appear on cable TV. I didn't watch WCW when the Crow Sting gimmick started, but I do know that for a year he just hung aroung the rafters with a baseball bat, feuding with Hogan. Then, their blow-off match was the shits. They need to stop hyping Sting and actually deliver. These fans are a lot more smarkish and will shit all over it if they even smell another WCW-ish Sting gimmick.
