I don't think Carlito is drawing a strong amount of heel heat from the live crowds, but now, having essentially lost the feud, I doubt if there is anyone left who cares.

This is some very interesting insight. But how has the business changed much since 1998? I know the storylines seemed to be locked in that era, but is the lack of freshness what you mean? It should be an interesting next 5 years or so. Personally, I'd like to see Vince crumble if only for all the "yes" men and wrestlers to start shooting on him knowing that he'll never be on top again.

I don't know if this is all correct, but I do have to say everything that WCW did to kill itself is happening now in the WWE. The difference is, there's no real competition to step in and pick up the pieces (TNA isn't quite there yet)

Everyone buys gas, right? Unhappy with the price of gas? Okay. Stop buying gas and inturn stop driving. No we don't NEED gas (technically) -

You do if your diet MUST include fruit and you're lazy or some how disabled (when you get old you'll understand) I don't think you understand the passion the IWC has for this business. Don't over simplify -
Vince/WWE vs. Wrestling New Sites/Net Fans

He does care, however, about people who disagree with him and voice their opinions in a very public place. -
Regardless of how big or fragile we think Vince's ego is, one thing remains true. He has said on numerous occasions that when Ted Turner and Eric Bischoff decided to run a show to compete with his, he took it as a personal insult. I don't think he wants another ratings war. What I do think is going on is nothing more than Vince being Vince. He hated Eric Bischoff and now he works for Vince. If you were Vince, what would you do? Now he has a chance to ride off into the sunset b/c he beat WCW. He's probably still getting off on that. We hate the price of gas, right? And all the CeOs of big oil companies are laughing all the way to the bank b/c they know that they're the only game in town. And we all need gas. I wouldn't put it past Vince if he were trying to stick it to the IWC, but I'm sure he doesn't respect any fan of the WWE and laughs at what we like/dislike about the biz. Of course, we don't need wrestling like we need gas, but still . . .

Why was Vince mad at Bischoff? Doesn't he remember he OWNS both brands? Why would he care if Bischoff or Teddy won or lost? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Bischoff is a heel, Vince is a heel. Teddy is a face. Yeah, that's all I got

No, you have it backwards. Let me explain. Who has the weaker ego, the guy who makes a lot of money and uses it however he wants, including getting people to notice him, or the guy who doesn't really care what other people think and has no desire to flaunt his money and fame on TV so everyone knows it. He just makes money to make money.

People with fragile egos do some very strange things.

The thing about Cena is I think the E knows the fans are turning on him. I think I read somewhere that he went up to a little girl sitting in the front row that was terminally ill and talked to her, let her hold the belt, etc, etc. That really popped the crowd. They're trying real hard with Cena.
-
Cena's getting booed now, but got a pop when he came out? wtf?
-
Angle wearing black ring attire = dammit, stop cheering for him! He's a heel!
-
HHH, mankind called and wants his entrance from the 98 KOTR back. Poser.
-
I so wanted HHH's indian death lock. Damn.
-
Mick's probably too fat to wear the brown suit he used to wear.
-
Did they even introduce him? Or did he himself?
-
He used his "finisher" on raw 2 weeks ago. It's an inverted swinging neckbreaker. I believe some call it "roll the dice." Anyway, you'll see it and the WWE will make it seem like a shotgun blast.

Vince/WWE vs. Wrestling New Sites/Net Fans

Good job, Vince. Kill your business for the sake your ego. -
Not really. Again, they can claim to be 'legit' voting all they want, but they're in the position to announce whichever winners they want. Who'd even know whether the results are worked, besides WWE? Obviously, there's no way that Christian will be 'winning' the voting, regardless of how many votes he actually gets. Although, given WWE's recent love of working the internet for storylines, I can almost picture Christian winning the votes for the SD match tomorrow and - with his brand new WWE contract - wrestling at Taboo Tuesday. It's unlikely, but it wouldn't surprise me, since it would be WWE's best 'FU' to the internet fans who now think that Christian is liberated. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, everyon's been claiming that the results are real. What I don't understand is how much they're steering the fans into what to vote for. If they really are worked, why not give some chioces that realistically make some sense.
-
According to WWE.com, Christian still shows up on the match screen and can be voted for. This could cause a problem for people wanting to fuck with the E (who doesn't?)

See, I told you my Austin analogy wasn't off base
