I know it has the WWE-style ropes & turnbuckles...but can anybody tell if its the smaller ring or is it the WWE ring?
-
Uh, they did all those chants in ECW first.
-
Well Taz(z) has helped Heyman for the past five years on commentary. Taz would've slapped Tazz just for saying rocketbuster on national television.

KENNY? JOHNNY? MITCH? NICKY? MIKEY?

Call him up and ask. ...and that was the TSM Castrol GTX Rimshot Of The Night...

It was that stupid drink right?
-
And call it WCW NITRO with Tony Schiavone & Ric Flair...It would work.

I hope that when they go to bigger markets like NY, Chicago and Cleveland, I hope they go to ECW's traditional venues like the Odeum in Chicago suburbs (Villa Park), the Agora in Cleveland, and just ONE more trip to the Elks Lodge in Queens please (but I already have a feeling that whenever ECW goes to NY it'll be at the Ballroom).

RVD should've been brought into the WWF with Fonzie by his side. It adds an abundance of "cool" to his character...Alfonso being the cheerleader while RVD stood there and calmly told you how great he was was definitely a great visual...

Another reference to the Reformation of DX

HAHAHA.. Why the beard? He looks more like he did in 1997, one of the best years in his career. Now that I think about it, I think I'm gonna eject myself from this conversation; talking about a wrestler growing a beard is a little too much. -

Mama's Boy, I believe. How markish of them. That guarantees a Cena face pop tonight. -

I hope Motorhead performs it live sooner than later. It's gonna be priceless to see Lemmy butcher the lyrics. -
It would be great if he was doing one of his psycho rants against what a bastard HHH is. **HHH walking to the ring while his music is playing** JR: He's the Cerebral Assassin, he's the Game, he's the 10-time world champion, he's the King of King, and he's everything that people--like myself--have warned you about. He's not the greatest guy in the world, he would never be invited to my house for a cookout, but I can tell you this: the son-of-a-bitch can wrestle. He hits his opponents with sledgehammers, but he does it in a way that reminds you of the great Harley Race. I may never like him, and he may never like me, but-- **JR passes out and slumps over on the announcer's table** King: Well until JR wakes up, let me remind you that RAW is being brought to you tonight by Castrol GTX...

I got 20 bucks on CM Punk being in ECW.

And I'm glad this didn't take long (2nd post in thread).

You deserve X-Pac heat for saying that.

I agree wholeheartedly, the last half of 2000 was teetering on the line of wrestlecrap. I think you can pinpoint the slide right at the debut of RAW on TNN. That's when things started to drop slowly but surely. Isn't it funny that, with the FULL exception of the Halloween show, RAW on USA has been very consistent? But like someone said earlier in this thread, I'm very fond of everything that happened in 1998 after WM14, and also 97 just for Bret/Austin and Bret/Shawn which made for excellent TV. Another thing, wasn't the State College RAW where Jericho won the belt from HHH but it was quickly overturned in 2000? One of my favorite RAW moments ever.
-
98 had the best year of TV by far, but 2000 had very good PPVs (not counting WM) and very good TV (w/o Austin btw). Trips became a legit main eventer, and The Rock became the #1 star in all of sports entertainment. Damn, I look back and wish it was just Triple H vs. The Rock @ WM, Show & Foley (not to mention the McMahons) made the ME forgettable.
-
He's playing a true heel, unlike Kurt.
-
Great way of putting it.
-
Sad thing is, those are the top three matches on the card. This is gonna be a great WM for all the wrong reasons.

What was the biggest crowd pop EVER?
BigDawgCarl replied to JimmyHendricks's topic in General Wrestling
I remember that, I still have it on tape. I think that was the most pivotal match in 1998 as far as having an impact on the future. The Rock was approved by the MSG crowd as a star on that night; you could hear them popping for The People's Elbow. But, it was a very good match to cap a very entertaining feud, and it was a resounding "YEAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!" when HHH pulled down the belt. I don't know why it's so hard now to say something good about Trips, because I was a 10-year-old kid screaming "YEAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!" watching that match live at home. Or maybe it's because he's a big reason why wrestling is the way it is today.
