He won the US Title? I meant a major singles title (RAW, SD, or ECW world title), not that prop that never goes anywhere in the big scheme of things. The US Title has been more valued then the ECW Title in recent months, by far. Whatever the opinion is of the US title personally, "major singles championship" doesn't mean the US title, in comparison to the big three belts. Keyword, major. You can't possibly include the ECW Title. It regularly opens PPV's and gets the shortest amount of time devoted to it. The ECW Title is a mid-card title, slightly above the IC title at the moment, which IS a prop right now.

That was a pretty easy start to the season.

Fuck! I used a first round pick on him in fantasy. I'm done if I have to send Garrard out there every week. Oh man!

The NFL got their way. Ocho Cinco is no more.

If that is the case, 'Taker shouldn't win. A unannounced title match involving a top name on PPV wouldn't be wise even if you want to believe it rewards the fan for ordering the PPV. Doing the angle is fine but just have MVP get away with the title (as he probably would do if he wins the scramble in the first place). This would set up a series of things for SD.

If you mean Vince McMahon, he's an alumni of ECU.

This turned out to be a stressless day. Decisive wins in the two games that meant something and the TB score went well in my favor for good measure.

How long was Umaga supposed to be out? I could see him joining sides with Vicki to combat 'Taker as they planned earlier.

Gilyard is insane today.

Not quite. They lost a few key players, including Mauk, Nakamura and Craig but don't suffer greatly in their absence. They are still a very good and underlooked team and they should have no problems keeping the game under that spread. There must be something in the air for these underdog teams from Ohio today, so Cincinnati might have a chance. Cross MOH off that, they blew with that wide open missed catch.

They talked about making Cyber Sunday/Taboo Tuesday into a USA/SNME Special last year and they should've done that this year. It'd fit right into the quartly 3 Hour Raws they do and serve a chance to build to Survivor Series by having unique matches and using the popular voting mechanism that fans liked but without asking fans to fork over money to see what they asked to see. ONS has found its niche as the gimmick PPV, so it's a decent PPV attraction with the right matches (which is the case for all events except WM/Rumble).

I've been saying for awhile that a show like GAB would be best suited for an outdoor venue. It doesn't have to be a Shea Stadium size venue. Just any outdoor stadium that could hold 25-30k and there are countless stadiums that offer that ability across the country. An outdoor venue would fit the "summery" feel of Great American Bash.

I knew I wasn't crazy for taking Vandy. I had a strong hunch for this game and I do for another but I didn't pull the trigger on that "upset".

How much does WWE want her? Couldn't they raise the offer? I don't think they want her that much or they would've made a stronger effort for her, it seems Kim would be a situation which WWE feels they can go with or without her. Gail Kim is one of the very few people better off in TNA. -
I still stand that MVP hits the running kick on Triple H after he hits the pedigree at the last second (even if there is supposedly heat on MVP, it's still the way to go unless they want to do the spot with Jeff hitting a swanton at the last second after a pedigree and Jeff can get a short, very short run with the title before he inevitably fucks up again). CM Punk really needs to go Wire to Wire. One person tried to argue that would make him look bad because it appeared they were going with the idea that everyone was injured in some capacity but that isn't the case anymore and everyone is "healthy". Punk should just break everything up and hit a definitive GTS on someone not named JBL or Mysterio within the final minute of the match. It'd make for good drama to see Punk outlast everyone, rather then seeing him trying to catch the clock or outright losing. As for the ECW match? I expect a hot potato match to hammer the "titles can change" aspect as it will be the first scramble of the night and I think Hardy will have the title in his grasp in the final minutes only for Atlas to get involved and Henry gets the title back. I agree that Hardy should win the title in a one on one fashion. Also, there's no excuse now that Shawn is cleared for the match for the Jericho-Shawn match not to close. That is the selling point of this show and in theory, it should be such a vicious match that nothing could follow it.

The last match that I can recall going to the street was that CM Punk-Chavo "Gulf of Mexico" match where the object was to throw the other guy into the Gulf of Mexico and they had to brawl in very windy conditions. That was fun. They should do more stuff like that as well as the bar brawl from Slam 99. That was one of the fun aspects of the Hardcore title during that period, when they'd end up having matches in odd places like amusement parks, bars and snow filled parking lots.

I've yet to see HDPPV have a raised price for any event. Even WM was still the standard 54.99 price. That is of course, dependent on your provider and how much they want to gouge you.
-
That's one of the great examples of piss-poor booking and hype. It took a total backseat to three matches (Austin-Rock III, Hogan-McMahon and to an extent, Booker-HHH, maybe even Shawn-Jericho depending on how you look at it). That was very bad PPV in terms of pacing as the five big matches went consecutively and should've been broken apart better.
-
The show still has long standing main eventers like Triple H, Kane, Jericho, Shawn, Batista and Mysterio on this show and heavily featured at that. Not that isn't a good sign that names like Punk, MVP and Hardy are getting momentary bumps to the main event scene, that doesn't automatically declare a youth movement for the company just yet.

Where did you hear "never wrestle again" most people had it placed as a 2-4 month injury. -
I'd be willing to venture that 'Taker plays a part on the PPV in some fashion.
-
I'm in that same boat. WWE has done away with attaching importance to specific PPV events and treats all of them equally with WM and Rumble being the higher exceptions. That argument might have held ground in the distant past where there was a clear divide because traditional major PPV shows and the "b-show" but that has gone away. Summer Slam holds some value for certain fans because of the long history of the event but as a show itself, it was hardly a departure from One Night Stand or any other non Rumbe/Mania PPV. It's because Slam used to be one of three annual PPV events in a year but we're approaching the point where events like Unforgiven and No Mercy have been around for 10 years. They aren't throwaway PPV's by name alone anymore.

Given the long quality build for Jericho and Shawn, it really feels like it should be the main event show closer and not a mid-card placement between the SDScramble and a woman's title match.
