Austin was stoic as usual but Cena was heartfelt as was JBL. It's not about showing emotion. Punk did get to me because I know how long he wanted to work Benoit and how much he looked up to him. As I am sure that alot of young talent in the back did.

It's still quite breaking news and let's be honest, pro wrestling has burnt the mainstream many times. Including just two weeks ago. Many media outlets are probably waiting for more info for the story itself or to even believe it isn't just another WWE stunt.

Is this the first Raw or any tv show to be canceled in WWE history? They kept going post 9/11 and they didn't stop a stop the show for Owen or Eddie's (granted, they didn't get news of their death within an hour of going live like Benoit's)?

I'll echo what Rudo said. Fuck the angle. It's a TV show angle. Sadly, real life played a hand. What really bothers me is that I'm already afraid of what they will do to him like they did with Eddie. I hate that I'm already thinking about that but after Eddie's death, I come to expect the worst. Oh, fuck this. USA just showed an ad...still promoting McMahon's funeral but made sure to edit Benoit out. Obviously, they could just go "Tonight, Raw pays tribute to Chris Benoit".

We don't know right now. It's possible they might not be linked. The possible circumstances of what happened are scary and I think we're going to have to accept that no matter what is discovered, it isn't going to be pretty and it might not make any sense right now or any time soon.

I guess it's one thing when you have a whole day to process a death like Owen's or Eddie's but this was just within the last hour or so. There's probably no way you can really do a tribute show justice, I suppose.

Obviously USA can't change the promos but they are still promoting the McMahon funeral with Benoit being shown.

24 hours ago, I was excited about the idea that my two favorite wrestlers would finally compete in the ring together. So much changes in the span of an day. The very idea of what could have happened in Atlanta is scary to fathom. Chris Benoit is dead. It's still far to early to really let that sink in. I don't care about the McMahon angle, how anyone can really think about it right now is beyond me. I guess...RIP Chris Benoit.

I don't think that was the case at all. I just think they didn't want to blow the Punk title win so soon. Although I argue it should have just been a DQ finish or non-finish instead if they wanted to wait and put the belt on Benoit. Logically, Burke and Cor Von lost the right to challenge but Nitro won on Tuesday...giving him claim to contend for the title.

Obviously I haven't seen it yet but most reports indicate it was on par with the Unified match last year and possibly better.
