I don't think these two even know how to work this match.

RVD jobbing right now, tonight is the best course of action. No sense in, (wait for it) stretching this out. Regular size venue, but the stage has the screen boardered with ladders, a couple cranes and various weapons like barbed wire, tables, chairs etc, etc, surrounding the stage.
-
Stretcher, indeeds opens and the stage is quite interesting to say the least. RVD is quite over right now.

It will have to compete with Clooney and those guys but after the stinkbomb that was 12, I can't imagine a huge open for that either. Don't count out the kid movie either. It should be #1 and even if it doesn't...it'll hold up for awhile anyways while the others drop quick.

Hot girls bleeding is upsetting? It's hardly like it's never been done before and when done properly, it works. Besides, they don't have to bleed to be a real gimmick match.

WWE General Discussion for June 2007
Hawk 34 replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
He was buddies with Test so he wanted to try to get him over........ He also wanted to push Blackman. It really doesn't matter if Stephanie and Shane do things the way we would want them to. We're consumers. As long as they manage the business well, they'll be doing their job. -
I like this card, even if it's slightly overkill from not just the matches itself but the gimmick concept as well. Cena-Khali should perform quite well given the circumstance of the gimmick and Cena's strong point against guys like Khali in this environment. The build has been for Cena to FU Khali and that's what we've come to expect. The JD match was beyond better then it ever had any right to be and that is a testament to Cena and this should be a easier task. Edge-Batista has been a heatless program which is expected from two guys who bring nothing to the table against each other. Edge will keep the title and I'm going to take the safe assumption that Henry doesn't get involved but I'll call for the finish to see Edge missing a spear through the cage door which will once again put Edge over as the lucky bastard and Batista coming inches from victory. Lashley-McMahon, for a program that has gone for months still feels as if it hasn't gone anywhere other the title change and countless 3-1 beat downs. This main events as expected since Lashley is bound for the title change and while this should be a quickie 5 minute squash, shortcut after shortcut will be thrown into this and go longer then it should. It'll live and die by a hot crowd RVD-Orton is a match living around the political nature surrounding the match which is typical of anything with Randy Orton. Match wise, it should be quite solid even if it'll be based around RVD's over-acting sell job. I'd perfer Orton to go over tonight and give RVD a good send-off leaving the door open for him to return in the future. WGTT-Hardys can be a lock for a fun spot match as long as the usual suspects don't have an off day. I could see The Rednecks playing a part in this match, possibly with the accidential spot to transfer the titles onto the WGTT. Either way, this isn't about who wins and loses, it's about the spots. I would rather see a smarter paced wrestling match based around the ladder instead of the usual spot-rest-spot format. Henry-Kane is nothing but a complete clusterfuck waiting to happen. Really serves no purpose other then McMahon's big man fetish. Who goes over, to me is up in the air. Kane has looked strong and I could really see Kane-Edge as a possible program but Henry's looking to stay strong. The tables match, I expect to open the show as it should be a solid hot match built around Punk. Booking should dicate how this goes, but since nothing's been said in regards to the elimination process. I could easily see the finish being Punk having Burke set up for the G2S and Corvon goes for the pounce but misses and crashes through the table instead. Either it'll extend the program building to a Punk-Corvon blow-ff or Punk finishes it all off tonight and they'll set something new up for all involved after the draft. Candice-Melina could have been tolerable in a straight wrestling match and even if they needed a gimmick for this card, it could have been anything else from strap match, bra-panties match even but especially not pudding match. I'll wager Melina winning with Candice getting the redemption win tomorrow night. Once again, the crowd will play a key part in the product tonight because of the constant gimmicks.

30 mil for an R rated comedy is more then good enough.
-
there you go that's why Cena was out first then McMahon it was like watching a ppv backwards Well, tonight's PPV will see Cena before McMahon. Besides, the format was traditional SNME. Hit the big match and angle first since that's the biggest audience and close with the mid-card stuff.

Isn't it usually Lombardi?
-
Yes. This was a great movie and while it didn't have as many huge comedy moments, it was just a steady roll of really great humor. The characters were all likable, even the bitchy sister. There's no reason to skip this.

It's called the Batista Syndrome.

Fuck you. You worthless fraction of a man. Don’t you dare attempt to justify this as insignificant and try to hobble around your worthless effort to champion other catastrophic incidents as more worthy causes of concern while practically endorsing cruel suffering of animals. Hide behind your hackneyed comparison with the cattle industry and when that fails, as it has, don’t try to validate this because of the involved party’s occupation. A professional football player or high school drop-out wouldn’t matter in this instance. Anyone associated with dog-fighting is scum regardless of their financial prominence, just as much as anyone who brushes it off as something insignificant. The point is to KILL animals. To get entertainment value out of death and pain. It’s not to create machines and watch beautiful examples of majesty. It’s pure evil and nothing less. You openly admit that animals suffering doesn’t matter as long as Michael Vick runs around on fake grass and throws a ball around. You don’t care as long as you make money off Vick. A dozen or so dogs is the beginning. Countless proven records show that dog-fighting and other forms of animal cruelty is a direct link to psychopathic activity and equally extreme forms of behavior. That’s not important though because you can’t make money off that. Fuck the dogs, put me down for a spot on Vick this Sunday.

Losing a pet is quite difficult, especially when they become so commonplace in your life. I've had 4 dogs in my lifetime and two of them have passed. One by a second bout of cancer and the other from old age. You could see them dying right in front of you. To witness their regression is painstaking. I’m not sure what would be worse, a sudden death at such a young age with absolutely no preparation or watching them wither away. I was only 15 when I got the news from my mother that our dog had cancer once again and that for the sake of his comfort, would be put down. I refused to accept it. I was adamant he would beat cancer again, refusing to admit that it had spread through him and he had already gone through a rough battle and he couldn’t do it again. My grandparents, except my mother’s mom had all died when I was quite young and I had very little recollection of them, offering me no understanding of how to cope with losing someone that I held so closely. I don’t know if I cried, but I wasn’t there when they put him down. I was playing a game that afternoon but I remember that I was thinking of him, wondering if it had happened yet. When my second dog died, just about a year later, I was better equipped to handle it but it wasn’t much. I had two dogs for the past two years, one of which I had gotten myself in order to give the other dog a companion. They are best friends. Sadly, they each went off with my parents to their new home while I’m still here. I’ve considered getting a dog of my own to live with me but a part of me still thinks of that dog as my own and impossible to replace right now. It just doesn’t seem quite right.

If you mean The Sandman, it was last august during a taping. If you meant about Edge wearing Murdoch's gear? I dont know but I'm banking that had to be a rib wearing Trevor Murdoch's gear of all people.

I think those involved with the new group would deny him just on the basis of his past failure and that he wouldn't be taken seriously. Vince already got burned by football and I can't see him willing to play with others.

If anyone can, put up the Jimmy Jacobs promos from the 3/30 and 3/31 ROH Shows. As well as the 3/31 cage match.

The new AFI Top 100, coming June 20th on CBS
Hawk 34 replied to Downhome's topic in Television & Film
Wouldn't the movies at the bottom of the list be the ones taken off? What is required to be on the list? Is it just on quality alone? Cultural importance? Because I can't really figure out why a couple movies are on the list other then being popular movies. I'll cap it off at 12 new selections based off the typical love these movies get, not for what I think are quality. American Beauty Crash Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Gladiator L.A. Confidential The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King The Matrix Mystic River Saving Private Ryan Shrek Titanic -
Jerry Narron was tossed after the 5th pitch of the game. Which makes me curious, what is the quickest ejection on a manager in a game?
-
I sent you a transcript but for those who haven't seen it, you should do yourself a service and find it. While not quite as great as the ASEIII promo, the follow-up promo the next night prior to the blow-off match was also very well done.
-
Just a punch in the face?
-
Not quite. A handful are used in WWE, including a couple finishers.

Sonic does have its share of good selections and the drive-in concept is still cute enough that it doesn't feel hokey as other attempts I've seen in replicating an nostalgic feel in a chain but seriously, Culver's is all that is needed in that small pocket of "above average" fast food chains. I don't consider Steak n Shake as one of those. It's always been diner fare for me and I can't place that with those.

What really makes it work is that this has Jimmy's work all over it. From the fantastic videos, promos (expecially the AS3 promo, which might have been the greatest promo in ROH history if it weren't for Punk's rant on Raven at WrestleRave) and most importantly, the amazing brawls with Cabana and Whitmer. The cage match is the far ahead leader for my 2007 MOTY selection right now because not since Tully and Magnum have I've really felt two people hated each other and escalated it in the process of some truly sickening shots. There are some mumblings that another girl gets involved and leads to a jealous Lacey angle. Who knows? This is one of those rare times where as a fan you just stick back and don't even want to imagine what is next because it'll blow you away.
