Bullshit. Eddie won the title again last year.
-
It's more important not to waste another Arroyo start with a cold offense and sloppy bullpen. Tacking on runs tonight has been a good deterrent.
-
I'm really surprised Cena has been so capable of avoiding injury despite a demanding workload and the spotfest matches.
-
Look at the Benoit hopefuls thinking he'll get another shot at it. He had his gold watch three years ago.
-
'Taker did have his own music video. He also did the long absence and return at RR spot as well.
-
The more I think about it, Kane-Batista seems to be the way to go. Vince usually goes to the big man in a crisis and Kane seems logical enough to step in his brother's place. He deserves a gold watch reign for the shit he's put through.
-
Actually, WWE has been trying to get him for awhile. JR is a mark for him and he's obviously in with Regal, Benoit and Michaels. A good trio of people with close bonds to those in charge.
-
It already was with Punk and Burke but it'll be a interesting look at what happens with Vince here.
-
If he was willing to take the minimum, I'd be fine with him filling in for Chris Henry. The Johnson cousins would be a interesting duo to watch. I think he's best served going to what appears to be a natural environment for him in a studio show.

It's Alabama. What would you expect? It's always good to have a 'villain' but you can't get more white-bread then Californian good looking corporate spokesman Jeff Gordon. What seems to get lost to these people is that Gordon and Earnhardt were close friends and business partners. Even Junior is telling these people how stupid this is. Yes, Senior made it a point to push the envelope in the rivalry with Gordon but that was because he was one of the first great marketing savvy guys in the industry and knew Gordon was the future. It's been over 12 years since that time period. Get off it. Luckily, NASCAR has done a good job of extending its fanbase beyond these blockheads into different demographics and territories. Maybe soon it'll extinguish these people from the product.

Maybe but you're going to be right back here in a couple months and even if you put the title on him, what do you do? Do the dreaded Henry deal, have Kane seek revenge for his brother? Go right back to Kennedy-Batista? Move Orton, Umaga, Edge over as the new main heel? Not many exciting options.

At this point, Smackdown doesn't have anyone that really stands out in a big enough to match with Cena. Undertaker was an appealing attraction but as far as carrying the show, that was a stretch. Smackdown is a fine enough product but it's completely bland. It doesn't have the star attraction that Raw has or a hot storyline to carry the show. It's just there. Yeah, you can put the title back on Batista until he tears another limb and you're right back where you started from. I liked the idea of Kennedy being patient until WM24. I do question the ability of WWE to hold off on rushing that stipulation. A heel being intelligent enough to wait for the big stage was a good idea but I fear they will panic and try to make something of Undertaker's injury and have Kennedy take advantage. Setting Batista-Kennedy again. While they had ok matches, it was a bland angle. Tournaments are always fun, and they can do one across the promotion from ECW and Raw as well. You can do a one night 16 man tournament and the Khali-Cena match as the headline. Just avoid the battle royal rehash. Either set up a #1 contenders series or a one night tournament. Short of shipping Edge or Umaga over to SD as a new top heel (or even Orton), it seems the only options on SD are Batista, Kennedy and maybe since there was talk awhile back, of doing finally getting Kane back in the title picture and giving him a gold watch run. Batista snapping and taking out his brother is a generic but possibly effective route to go.

Why the hell would you do that to one of the better workers in the company? If we went by your theory, Kane would have been discarded quite some time ago. Umaga is hardly damaged by losing to John Cena and Lashley. He's still a good big monster ass kicker. You still got some great matches left for Umaga beyond the McMahon program, it would be criminal to get rid of Umaga.

At least some of those have been used for while. Steiner's was used way back in the late 90's. AJ, 'Cide and Daniels have had their names for quite some time, dating at least back to 2002. Jarrett needed a name to combat THE GAME. Some of the others aren't needed. It's a part of the culture of boxing and MMA, to give everyone a nickname. No matter how silly some are.

Aside from the tag titles, none of the other titles needed a title change. Cena obviously wasn't going to drop the title leading into the Khali deal. Undertaker and Batista can't have a title change going into JD and the idea was to put over that none of the two won the match. The woman's title appears to be chugging along seemingly building to Mickie finally winning. Benoit-MVP is a long feud that'll likely culminate in a 2/3 falls match with MVP winning the decisive match. London and Kendrick haven't chased long enough after such a lengthy reign. The ECW change was apparently needed to phase Lashley out and set up the Originals vs McMahon deal. Which makes me worried, that the NB is done with them and will be a internal program and that makes me happy since it'd be Punk Vs Elijah as the focus.
-
I believe they said something about Lashley taking him out at Backlash and he was still recovering. He's really been shoved aside in this entire McMahon/Umaga-Lashley thing.

Whichever show doesn't have a lock'd up program heading to WM. Since we've seen that he can easily get over as a face, they won't be forced to turn someone face to challenge Kennedy. Although, I'd rather he just stick to his current deal. I just worry they will have the Rumble winner challenge for the same title as Kennedy making it a three way dance after all this time of Kennedy waiting it out. Hopefully whomever is carrying the title for whatever brand isn't a slapped together program. We should see something with a background leading into his decision.

Wrong. The rules have been established for the past two years and this year, that the rights to the title shot at their own choosing is good for exactly one year. Countless times, we've been told "The contract is good for exactly one year against any champion of their choosing". Which means Kennedy can rightfully cash in his shot at WM24...exactly a year later (actually, 3 days earlier). It's not holding him back. It's showing a heel using his head for once. Edge waited til the easiest time to strike. RVD did it on his turf. Kennedy, wants to cash it in on the biggest stage. That assures him of a main event slot and a main event paycheck. That's called being intelligent.

Most do and ESPN even openly admits to it but I guess they figure it's still historic and should be covered. It'd be great if they ignore it but at least for the most part, they admit it's hollow and are already hoping A-Rod can sustain and become the story of the year by taking out Bonds other record.

This was all kinds of awesome. It kept building and building and just when you think it's at the peak, it fucking shoots higher and faster and the ride doesn't end... I can't even count all the greatness here. I loved Peter being a total badass, curious to see what the scar came from. The exchanges between Future Hiro and Past Ando were great. Like everyone else, I let out a audible "Oh, fuck!" when the Sylar reveal occured. The showdown with Peter and Sylar was intense and all we really saw was two different lights colliding. This had so much shit sewn into it that it demands at least a second viewing. I was skeptical thinking this was going to be a gimmick episode but it went right into the entire context of the story and accelerated it into another level that I can't remember a network tv show ever reaching. Go back to the very start of this thread. Look how much we were off-base on. It was feared it couldn't hold up, my god was that the most inaccurate sentiment ever.

More then Orton's title win? Or Test's...Hardcore title win?
-
No, I lump Simmons right in there with the rest of Boston's horde of self-serving dolts. Simmons is a perpetrator of the same things he constantly admonishes.
-
The show really dropped off this year aside from the Barney stuff. It isn't just the jerky schedule but I keep forgetting this show is on, if it weren't for the DVR prompting me. I wouldn't be sad if this show ended up gone although I am bothered that Sheen's shitty comedy is still staying around.

No one from that entire city holds much merit. Gammons, maybe. The rest? Not a damn bit.

Maybe Paul Burchil can learn something this time!
