Exactly what is Barkley's issue with GS? I haven't paid attention to the studio shows to stay up with it.

There’s a fine line in taking Cena’s reign as being stale and in some respects, that holds merit in that he’s not losing the title. It’s an entirely different degree to make a reach and compare this reign to HTM which was such a different circumstance in the booking, character and direction. It’s really light and day between these two. Does it hurt to an extent that Cena lacks a long list of credible challengers? Possibly but that’s not on Cena. The vitriol reserved for Cena by people around here and elsewhere is as if Cena is a manipulative conspirator, when he isn’t. Face chasing the title is traditionally a better route then the long reigning face champion but it’s so rare in this day and age especially from the WWE promotion to stray from the rapid title changes that its more refreshing. If Cena continues to deliver the goods in the ring as he has in 2007, easily being the top worker this year with only direct competition from the likes of Morishima and Jacobs…that’s a damn good year. Have your dissension with Cena but don't demean the quality of what he's done by making horrible comparisons like HTM. Jeff Jarrett's reigns were HTM worthy. That'd be an apt comparison. Not Cena.

Hesh was one of Tony's favorite guys that never bothered him. So this shows how much Tony is losing it. He has nobody to take over for him and his best earner is dead, the old timers are getting weaker and his wife is challenging his manhood by doing her own thing. The final 5 shows look insane and there is no possible happy ending for this show.
-
Again, that is a preposterous comparison that holds absolutely zero credibility or merit.

Aside from the hiccup of the McMahon deal and the general blandness of SD (good work but the element of importance is lacking especially in the main event), WWE is kicking with Shawn-Cena and Punk/Burke right now.
-
Cabbage, you hold very little merit in your opinion when all you can do is make attempts to disparage John Cena at any given chance you have even when it's not warranted. Vince McMahon putting the title on himself, is indeed self-serving but given the direction of the program, it had to be expected and as always Vince gets his comeuppance in the end. The idiotic notion that this will diminish that title any futher is just that, idiotic. The main event saw a hot match that was well worked with a good finish that leaves the fans wanting the rematch. That's textbook. Your comparison between Cena and HTM is preposterously off-base.

I don't mind keeping these programs intact, aside from the McMahon one. No need to rush into the next booking phase just for the sake of being "fresh". While I might perfer WM to be the END, rather then the start, I like seeing long drawn out programs as long as the product delivers and we're getting that with Cena-Shawn and Batista/UT. Edge-Cena worked quite well and going that direction right now is wise. I do think putting the title on Vince was a jerk off moment since they could have done something with Shane being the champion. It doesn't kill the legacy of ECW, since some people are still holding onto it. The legacy was killed when Heyman couldn't handle business and closed down.

It is a good thing. Makes getting a shot at the title worth something. You can have Cena in non-title matches and tag deals to keep things moving along. Having the "fighting" champion defend week in and week out works on some levels but when Cena's held the title for as long as he has over the past two years (which isn't a bad thing despite some people's hard headed ways). Cena isn't coming off as if he's ducking people. Note that he keeps offering title shots but gets placed into these tag matches instead. Building to actual title matches is a plus. Having mid-carders/JTTS getting random shots is futile.

Go back a couple raw threads ago and I called this exact finish. It was the only way to go anyways. Glad to see the show didn't blow aside from the Vince situation.

Like I said, we've seen the gang watching UFC before. Drama lives in his own world, so that explains it. The other guys knew who Liddell was. I loved that it was a good touch showing how oblivious Drama is when he's not depressed.
-
How can Drama not know who Liddel is? We've seen them watching UFC a few times over the years. I know Drama is in his own world but still. Aside from that, good stuff with Liddell. Eric continues to drag these shows down while Ari gets more awesome.

I don't recall a pin being needed at all in a Last Man Standing match. It's just basically if your opponent can't answer a ten count, you win. It's a death match that requires a pinfall before the 10 count.

Sounds like this show was worse then seeing Vito Jr take a shit in the shower.

ROH 4/27 and Good Times, Great Memories (4/28) shows
Hawk 34 replied to Hawk 34's topic in General Wrestling
I didn't know Bryan Danielson, Jimmy Jacobs, Jimmy Rave, Nigel McGuinness, Takeshi Morishima, Roderick Strong, Delirious, KENTA, Brent Albright, Erick Stevens, Jay and Mark Briscoe, Mike Quackenbush, BJ Whitmer, Lacey, Allison Danger, Sara Del Ray, Matt Sydal Adam Pearce, Rocky Romero and Jack Evans signed with TNA. Look, only a very small handful of workers from ROH were with TNA. (Joe, Daniels, 'Cide, Shelley, Aries and Sabin). MCMG are going to work more ROH dates as well and Aries isn't going anywhere. Why is it when ROH lets a couple guys go, a pool of idiocy bubbles up and you get these "What are they going to do now?" speculation? ROH is a promotion run by competent bookers and owners. Danielson's return next month more then recoups the lost of Christopher Daniels. Let's face it, Daniels had run his course in ROH. Whats the big deal about Aries main eventing one night and sliding down to the mid-card? ROH is a promotion that doesn't depend one person to headline. A great deal of talent can be the main event. Aries is in the top angle right now in ROH, he's in good shape regardless of being in the mid-card match. -
WWE will just look at this as John Cena being a bigger draw then Steve Austin.

ROH 4/27 and Good Times, Great Memories (4/28) shows

Add Shingo to the departure list with Cabana and Daniels. Shingo goes back to Dragon Gate. Although Shingo will probably return in time. -
A big truck can be beneficial. At what point does a collection of pit bulls provide a benefit? Security? One dog would suffice, not a pack of apparently rabid pitbulls.
-
See, it wouldn't just be a house cat. It'd have to be a Bengal Tiger or some shit.
-
Los Angles Raiders took Bowie. That was a good move. Carolina took Robinson. I'm happy to see that, he was a good return man on a really shitty Miami team.
-
Josh Hancock, of the Cardinals was killed last night in car crash. I haven't seen a site report but it's on ESPN right now. That's a horrible blow for that franchise to lose another player to death.

ROH 4/27 and Good Times, Great Memories (4/28) shows

Chicago Results 1). Delirious d. Akuma in 6MM with Quackenbush, Jigsaw, Hallowicked, and Primeau 2.) Erick Stevens and Christopher Daniels goes to 15 minute draw. Christopher Daniels cuts a promo and announces he's out of ROH for good by burying ROH, Allison Danger and praised TNA. He stared down BJ Whitmer on his way out. (He leaves on a heel slant in case he ever does return, leaving him with a ready made angle) 3.) Brent Albright d. Whitmer via Exploder in 4CS with Rave and Homicide. Rave appeared to re-injure the Jaw and left the match. 4.) Austin Aries d. Romero via 450 Splash. Strong attacks Aries after the match but Delirious makes the save (ROH Returns to Chicago in June with the returning Bryan Danielson, Marufuji and KENTA. Danielson Vs KENTA is booked) 5.) Morishima d. Shingo via Backdrop Driver 6.) Bobby Dempsey Vs Sugerfoot is no-contest as Tank Toland comes out and takes out Sugerfoot. Offers to train Dempsey. 7.) Roderick Strong d. Jack Evans. Romero joins in on a post-match beat down but Delirious makes another save 8.) Briscoes d. Motor City Machine Guns (Sabin and Shelley) in "awesome match". 9.) Colt Cabana d. Adam Pearce via submission in emotional farewell filled with speeches, locker room celebration and streamers. - Daniels is gone and I loved how he left. The way he came in. A pissed off heel against ROH. He might deserve a farewell show like Cabana got but I think Daniels knows this is the way to go for him. The Tag Title match looks like a must-see. -
That was Helms. He always wears the black ski cap.

Stanton will have two good teachers behind with Kitna and Martz. I wouldn't be too hard on him yet.
-
Yeah, I'm surprised Cincinnati didn't take him over Irons, although Pittman did say he hadn't spoke with them yet. The reaction from the three Giants fans left was awesome. Two were high fiving and the other in the back slamming his sheet on the chair in anger.

Perry is a injury machine. I might have expected to grab a RB later on but this kid looks ok. Tennessee just picked up Chris Henry. Poor guy.
