Nagata vs. Benoit in New Japan?; Angle vs. Lesnar in Inoki's IGF?
Hawk 34 replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in General Wrestling
The same reasoning as Benoit's working Nagata. A special request granted by WWE. Nagata doesn't work for WWE either. The ball is in Danielson's court to sign with WWE anyways. -
Nagata vs. Benoit in New Japan?; Angle vs. Lesnar in Inoki's IGF?

That's nice and all but let's get moving on getting Benoit/Danielson before it's too late. -
1. Jason Blade and Eddie Edwards defeat Chris Hero and Tank Toland. "Hot Crowd, Jason pins Tank with a rollup, much better than expected, fun heel work by Tank and Hero." 2. Pelle Primeau defeats Shane Hagadorn to win the Top of the Class Trophy. "Pelle Beats Shane with stunner, decent match. Shane jumped Pelle during entrance, tried to use weapon but Bobby Dempsey told ref. Pelle crowd surfed after the win." 3. Rocky Romero defeats Claudio Castagnoli. "Rocky pinned Claudio with a tilt-a-whirl pin combo. Very good technical match." 4. Steen/Generico vs. Briscoe/Stevens is up. Erick Stevens was taken out by the No Remorse Corps, Mark Briscoe is now in the match. It is now The Briscoes vs. Steen/Generico. Details hopefully forthcoming! 4. El Generico and Kevin Steen defeat The Briscoe Brothers. The titles were NOT on the line. "Awesome match, Stevens taken out early, turned into a handicap match for awhile. Mark entered the match late, crowd went wild, and it was non-stop action until the end. El Generico pins Mark after a standing brain buster. Mark took many head drops". 5. Doug Williams defeats Colt Cabana. "Doug wins with the Chaos Theory, good comedy, decent wrestling. Colt gave a farewell speech after the match." Real Estimate = 700. No pre-show results were given at this time. 6. Sara Del Ray defeats Ernie Osiris. "Sara wins with butterfly hold. Daizee Haze watched the match". 7. SHINGO defeats Matt Cross. "SHINGO won with a Ki Krusher. Good match, started slow, but got faster towards the end". 8. Davey Richards and Roderick Strong defeat Delirious and Jack Evans. "Richards pins Delirious after Strong used a chair and Davey used the D.R. Driver. The NRC used lots of cheap tactics". 9. Takeshi Morishima defeats Nigel McGuinness to retain the ROH World Championship. "Morishima wins with two backdrop drivers, very stiff match, both guys were bleeding from the mouth".

The name in the context of the feud with NRC and Jack's group is appros.

Preshow: 1) Bobby Dempsey & Rhett Titus defeat Alex "Sugarfoot" Payne & Ernie Osiris. 2) Pepper Parks defeats Mitch Franklin Main Show: 1) Kevin Steen defeats Pelle Primeau. Said to be a great opener with a hot crowd. 2) Daizee Haze defeats Sara Del Rey with a sunset flip. 3) Erick Stevens defeats El Generico, Jason Blade and Eddie Edwards. Austin Aries is in the ring talking to all 4 right now. Erick Stevens becomes the newest member of Aries' stable, "The Resilience". Romero and Richards attack from behind with Cross making the save. 4) Delirious defeats Colt Cabana. No streamers for Cabana. A full on comedy bout, with Cabana putting on masks to mess with Delirious' head. Colt put on a smiley face mask to frighten him, then put on a Delirious mask at one point and started doing Delirious' spots. Delirious got a roll up for the win. 5) Claudio Castagnoli defeats Jay Briscoe. Claudio challenges Jay and Mark for a title match with a partner of his choosing. El Generico and Kevin Steen come back out and make the same challenge, then attack Mark. 6) Brent Albright defeats Homicide. 7) Jack Evans defeats SHINGO with a 630 (I was sent 450, but I'm assuming it was 630) 8) NRC vs The Resilience is up. -Roderick Strong eliminates Erick Stevens, 3-2 advantage NRC. -Davey Richards eliminates Matt Cross (wtf Davey got a PIN?!), 3-1 advantage NRC. -Rocky Romero eliminates Aries, NRC 3-0 sweep. All three beat down Aries with Delirious making the save. 9) Nigel McGuinness & Doug Williams defeat Takeshi Morishima & Chris Hero when Nigel pinned Hero.

If it goes a second season, the focus would be about the strain the relationship takes between Coach Taylor and his wife and daughter being seperated. I wonder if they would go the direction of having Street take over? I don't think they will, I see them hiring some "big name" coach to take over that doesn't fit with Saracen and the rest while Coach is stuck lonely in Austin. Other then the small stuff with Landry/Tyra, Lyla/Buddy and Smash's girlfriend, the slate is pretty much clean which opens new avenues for characters to take but the important pieces of Saracen/Julie and Coach's relationships and Jason's adapting to a new life will be addressed in the next season.

Yes. He said slut. This was a cool-down episode after last week but it worked well. Good bits all around and I enjoyed the betting scenes.

Fantastic finale (season/series). Managed to wrap most of the important stuff but left stuff in the open if they go to a second season as it should. I loved how they had Devil Town playing again as it did earlier in the season. Great way of coming full circle. I expected Buddy to be the one to spoil the news but they never addressed that angle. Everything with Landry rocked this season and we saw that tonght as well. He's probably my #1 chracter on the show, finally passing Riggins and Saracen. I really enjoyed this show and it's the one show I really hope stays on the air, especially given all the shitty shows that stick around for multiple seasons. I just know if they cancel this show, they'll replace it with a dumb CSI rip-off or probably another game show.

How about referees? Chioda has been around since 1990 (though he was gone for a couple years before 1993). White has been with the company as referee, assistant/handler (Andre) and producer since the 1980's.

I think most of what Sorpano does can fall in the believable levels. He doesn't kill entire terrorist cells by his lonesome. He just kills people in conventional ways (piano wire, shotgun to the face etc etc) and does some despicable things for the good of the code.
-
Kat was never GND quality. She had the hollywood looks from the start.
-
I haven't seen Kat Phee since the finale last year and from the sounds of it, I intend to keep it that way. I perfer to keep the memory of the yellow dresss burned into my mind forever. I hate for it to be runed. Has she gone into soap opera yet? That was the natural landing place for her, since she made it clear she wanted to use AI to get into acting. Porn, would be great but she's about 5 years and a bad drug habit away from that and by then, who cares?

I was actually expecting Sanjaya to fall into the bottom three because he actually had a strong showing, making me think the votes would decrease in his favor but as soon as Seacrest did that tease shit, he was clearly staying home. Sanjaya doing country has me all excited. I think Haley would have done more with that then Phil will. I could see Blake doing something with Cash and wouldn't be shocked if one of the big three get sneaky and do "I'll Always Love You", which would allow them stay in their comfort zone.
-
Josh Hamilton continues to show that nautral skills don't vanish despite a long layoff with another great game tonight.
-
Chris brought nothing to the table. Phil's just as bad but he doesn't get smoked out by Blake like Chris does. He's so creepy that you can't compare them. Haley is clearly the second worst singer but she at least has those legs. Either will be a lost to the show but I would miss Phil the least of the two. That was directed to Ryan's stupid tease.

All I said was what JBL does well, which is putting over faces while not giving up his own character. Essentially the same thing you were saying.
-
He puts over Londrick every week, calling them the most exciting team he's ever seen and puts over the reign big time. He knows how to put over a face while staying a heel. He always puts over Benoit as the toughest guy he ever faced as well. He's tremendous at putting people over and yet still plays his chracter right.

Last night in Arizona, we saw two #1 overall draft picks on the field together. How often have we seen two or more #1 overall drafts picks on the same line-up?
-
It's the annual post-WM hangover where all the good booking and focus is blown and they are phoning the show in.
-
Oh, for a second I thought they were going to Orton him once they put him on Thorne's shoulders. Punk was a little too goofy with the "NEW BREED! YEAH!" faces. I love Punk as a heel, thats his best suit and I'm digging the chances of Punk breaking out some vintage sXe promos on Van Dam and Sandman. Punk/RVD will be good. I just thought the execution of the turn was poor.
-
RVD had to re-up. Only reasoning to even turn Punk. Even so, this is a horrible direction to take. NB already has a great star in the making with Burke who is a great promo. Punk isn't needed. This was a heel turn for the sake of a heel turn.
-
As I've been saying for weeks, once you take Melinda out of her comfort zone, she doesn't excel. I've also been saying Blake and Jordin were the ones to watch and they keep stepping up. Haley's gone and I'll miss them legs.
-
I think it's quite clear Punk takes out RVD and does the fake handshake with Burke and takes him out with the G2S.
-
Office guy now. Oh, great stuff there from Punk. I really thought Stevie was getting the upset but Punk still composes himself and gets the win.
-
Which reminds me about Balls. Remember Balls had that mini-push last winter and suddenly they forgot him or figured they couldn't get a 5th NB guy and left him out.
