    WWE announces 2007 DVDs

I don't even where there is a K-Mart around here, but I'll sure find it. Edit: What you know, there's a K-Mart five minutes from campus.

Someone needs to tell Ryan Freel that he doesn't have to dive for every fly ball.

Booker taking some time off for injuries

Didn't seem to hurt the quality of the 1993 KOTR from Bret. A fantastic match with Perfect and two other solid matches. People like Punk, Benoit, Kennedy and others are used to working 2-3 matches a night, sometimes over 20 minutes each. Also, you don't "require" two workers to work three matches a night. It's usually a custom of tournaments to have the heel get a bye to the finals anyways. They don't need "hours" to recover from working a eight minute match. I do think at least showing the Quarters, Semi's and Finals are needed because abbreviated one night events feel less important. Given the wide range of workers that fit for this, it can take up an entire month just with qualifying matches to reach the actual PPV tournament portion.

    Box Office Report...

Grindhouse only appeals to a select niche market, the Ice Cube movie was family fare.

Booker taking some time off for injuries

Going back to the discussion regarding the idea of using a PPV (such as GAB, ONS or Vengeance) revolving around a one night tournament, considering the current plan of assimilating the three brands for PPV's and the loaded mid-card from each respective brand, they are capable of producing a tremendous card. Using ONS, which will have a hard time selling on its own since it doesn't have the ECW exclusive attachment and is just another summer show should use the KOTR gimmick to sell the show alongside a special attraction main event.
  6. Shawn could barely walk and was jacked on painkillers for that match. If he could have gone all out, he would have.

Booker taking some time off for injuries

If it was designed in the vein of Bret's victory, to put over someone as the top wrestler (although Bret was a previous world champion) instead of creating a new gimmick for a mid-card act (Haku, Owen, Mabel, HHH, Angle) it can be effective but only in that regard. Using that to put over someone like CM Punk or Elijah Burke could be valuable. Simply revive the one night 16 man concept (which can be used for any of the summer PPV's), utilizing all three brands, allows for an easy and marketable sell for a PPV and to set up future programs as well. If it's just to give Kennedy another nickname or make a gimmick change, it's not worth it.

    Sex Education

I have only one anecdote regarding any sex education courses in grade school or high school. In the 9th grade my health teacher, a young beautiful recent graduate prompted the horny young men in the class that none of the required material was remotely relevant and tossed it in the garbage. Instead of showing the intended gross material, she simply showed amateur footage to illustrate that sex was hardly glamorous as porno made it out it to be. She rejected abstinence wholeheartedly. Regrettably, she only taught for a couple of years but she remained on the minds of all us young men.
  9. She even played off Piven pretty well given the circumstances, but yeah, Piven was zonked.

Weren't the last three feuds between these two enough? These two never click well.

Reds win another game with good performence by the bullpen. I was supposed to be there tonight but they pulled the start time up and I wasn't getting out of work this morning. It's not that cold out there. A good way to spend a night in the brisk weather watching a ballgame.

Booker taking some time off for injuries

Sharmell wasn't happy about Booker not being a man and standing up for his wife by losing to Matt Hardy. She slapped him to showcase her disappointment and Booker thought if he took out the champion, he'd look like a man again to his wife but failed completely. Simplistic purpose and execution here.
  13. Fairly sure that he used the name prior to ECW (wasn't he forced to be Robbie V because Watts didn't like the idea of playing to the similar looks with Van Damme?). RVD might be owned by WWE, though.

    The Final Four Thread

I'm hearing now on radio that OJ Mayo hadn't signed the letter of intent with USC and would be a strong chance of staying home to play with his favorite coach. Is that true? Has he yet to sign?

    American Idol

Okay, Phil will probably do Marc Anthony (I'd put even money on You Sang To Me) and Jordin will likely do a Lopez song, I'm thinking either Waiting For Tonight or I'm Glad. The rest? No clue. I'm scared/excited about what Sanjaya pulls out. MENUDO.
  17. That would have been a pretty good card (and a couple of those are obviously still possible or have in the past) but I think a few changes would be needed. Specifically, Tazz against Lashley. I just think something like Douglas-Lashley would have been better since Douglas was a heat machine and could make anyone look over by his presence.

It's really not that different from how network shows today are splitting the seasons in half or segments.

    OAO WrestleMania 23 Thread-April 1st, 2007

It has nothing to do with Undertaker jobbing or Edge jobbing. To me, this would essentially be just a high profile match that hasn't been done yet especially at a big stage. Edge wouldn't need a win since he always come back looking strong because he is an established top heel.

    25 Years Ago Today

This was a tremendous angle that truely merged Wrestling and Entertainment together in perfect synchronicity. I obviously wasn't alive to witness this first hand but of course, seen as much footage as possible and watched the documenturies and the Kaufman movie to get a good grasp of what it would have been like to actually witness this live. We had something similar to this with Federline and Cena and while it worked in that regard, it didn't have that impact on either the wrestling business or the entertainment world either.

    Friday Night Lights...

It almost seems like they are taking precautions with being canceled to possibly end this season in a manner that can serve as a series finale although it seems they have way to much to close out. Riggins is my second favorite character behind Landry and any time they share screen time together is a gift from god.

    oAo ECW on Sci-Fi -- 4/3/2007

I believe he was talked about taking off before the Lashley feud was brought up and was apparently promised a spot on WM and obviously that didn't happen. Thought "career ending" was mentioned in the conversation.
  23. Is Timbaland going to be doing stuff for WWE themes now given their partnership or is this strictly for the music videos? Most of the current themes from either Johnson or the usual shitty acts like Saliva is tiresome or generic. I'm not sure how he'd use his style in conjunction with the wrestlers, but it'd be interesting at least on a trial basis.

    OAO WrestleMania 23 Thread-April 1st, 2007

It's not like it really was that important to keep it. It was good for his character to utilize that aspect in the hype for this specific match. It was silly internet hope that he would use that for a purpose against Undertaker for WM24. Now, he can probably get by with the Shawn Michaels "big time performer on the big stage" element (given his 4 ladder matches, including a pair of famous spots), the most extreme WM match ever and of course, that epic shampoo war with Booker. As a bonus, he's actually won most of them. Something Michaels can't claim by any manner. Andre wasn't undefeated for 15 years but it was still used to hype WM3 and it worked obviously in that regard. Granted, he didn't perform in a time where people sat and complained "Oh, but he jobbed on this date and that date five years ago! It's bullshit." as the performers do now. Edge's WM legacy is still quite impressive given a 5-1 record, usually in a highlight match against some good names (Hardyz, Dudleyz, Benoit, Kane, Jericho, Booker, Foley), granted it doesn't hold the same value as it would in a straight environment but 1/2 of Undertaker's wins come off junk and it doesn't seem to hurt that legacy at all.

    OAO WrestleMania 23 Thread-April 1st, 2007

Edge spent the entire month putting over his streak at WM and his dominance in ladder matches, as did the announcers on all three brands and even during the match, it was put over by JBL. Undertaker's streak didn't really exist until WMX7. Before that, it just so happened he hadn't lost yet after years of beating JTTS, monster of the months or guys on their way out. Kane was the first major WM for Taker but the focus was about their long running feud. When WMX7 rolled around, that's when the streak came into play because HHH was the first legitimate threat to beat Taker at WM. Followed with a slightly significant victory over Flair, he ran over A-Train and TBS at XIX. Beating Kane at XX was given slight consideration but nothing serious but it holds relevance for being UT's lone repeat victory at WM. Orton was the biggest threat and probably of all the people at the time, could have used that win more then anyone else. People seemed to have thought being 6-0 vs 15-0 would have been enough reasoning to do Taker/Edge next year, ignoring that these two are big enough stars on their own.
