Shawn's never letting go of getting out politic'd by Hogan.

This show was right up the road. I really should have gone. Especially since it's the night after and all.

Leena's on the bandwagon. Great.

Harry Smith? Rodimer? ACE STEEL? My ideal (and probably yours too) would be Foley bringing Punk to Raw to head up a group of non-OVWized former ROH guys to "make things legitimate" amid all the 'roid intrigue. No. My ideal would be Punk having a serious feud with Austin mirroring the Raven/Punk deal with Austin coming out of retirement at 'Slam to put Punk over. I do like the idea of Foley and Punk back together. They have tremendous charisma and anything with Ace Steel is gold.

I'll go on a not-so far limb and say a complete no-name win. I haven't decided who that will be, yet.

Danielson is back in a few weeks and they got the NOAH guys coming in as well. That's the beauty of ROH. They always manage to plug holes in quite well.

While I was supposed to have the day off, I still came in to get my paycheck. While I was there, a couple guys came in and the talk got to WM and the general consensus from a group of 30+ year old guys was that they loved the show and thought Cena was fantastic and "cool". One even said that it was a joke that Michaels was even in the main event. I asked about Punk and they each said "he got a good look to him and he took some good shots". They did agree that Undertaker/Batista was the best match and completely hated the divas match. One even surprised me by saying "Mickie should be wrestling instead". Two 30+ year old guys who probably never heard of the internet liked Cena, Mickie and Punk. Strange.

How can you forget Finlay's head in blood, trying to climb the ladder but is completely in pain and damn near in tears until Hornswoggle runs out and Finlay has that "yeah! go boy!" look on his face like Lassie just showed up. Then after Kennedy kills Hornswoggle, Finlay goes nuts and even though he was in pain tried to take Kennedy out. Ending after the match with Finlay holding Hornswoggle almost crying. I thought everyone had their moment in this match. Jeff and Edge obviously with the big spot (as well as Edge's spear fest). Matt was a total dick in the match telling Jeff to die and at the same time taking out his bitter rival and threatening to hurt Sharmell (this is something they need to continue, maybe a heel turn for Matt should be in the works). Punk had his spot with the step-ladder, was the only one to actually counter the spear and took the second biggest spot of the night and was essentially the runner up in the match and actually had the crowd going at the ending thinking he was about to win. Booker had a couple comedy moments specific with the step ladder reaction and his humanized moment with Sharmell. Kennedy shined here, obviously with his fantastic reaction to Hornswoggle and the following bump and his finish sequence with Punk. The only part I didn't like was that ladder turn but he obviously knew to turn it to the hard camera for the visual. It wasn't as dramatic as the first one with Benoit selling the fuck out of his arm injury and Edge being the dick throughout the night along with Benjamin's nifty leaps but it was quite ahead of last years which was the Flair spot, Benjamin's leap and a good pop for RVD. Also, I just wanted to say while I agree with 52 on most, he's way off calling it a ***** match. From all accounts, that match wasn't even in the top 3 in Detroit that weekend.

There wasn't a single stall session this time around. Finlay tried to climb but collapsed. Punk was selling the blood lost but still got up pretty quick. Booker stalled but that was because he was trying to decide to get the briefcase or save Sharmell. Also, what a dick was Matt tonight? Convinced Jeff to kill himself and threatened to hurt Sharmell. I looked at Matt telling Jeff to kill Edge for him to get back for the whole Lita thing. But this is WWE, so I'm sure that wasn't the reason. I saw it as Matt trying to kill two birds with one stone. Even if that included his brother.

How long will it take Vince to make Tara Connor a contract offer?

Oh come the fuck on. To me he has none. He wears the same garb, says the same shit, tries to sound like the Rock, but isnt remotely funny or entertaining to me. They are shoving the fucking guy down our throats!! He has had the belt 20 of the last 24 months??!! They can still sell his merchandise to the kiddies and little future ho's withou having to have the belt on him Do you even know what the hell charisma is?

For everyone who thinks UT/Batista should have main evented, keep in mind how much getting snubbed probably pissed them off enough to work as hard as they could.

The crowd was hot for Punk. They would have blown the roof off if Punk won the MITB match. Crowd was dead in every other match after that with the exeption of the Taker match That's funny because Kennedy got a big reaction as well. Crowd was flipping for BoB and the main event. You think they were dead because they didn't hate Cena enough. They were popping for that entire match.
-
I liked how the two guys who will be the future were the ones at the end. Punk come off looking like he was going to win as well which makes him look good.
-
The MitB match was better then it seemed live. The RKO spot off the ladder, Hornswoggle's moment and of course, the Edge spot were the highlights but Matt threatening to DDT Sharmell was great as was the spear fest with Punk getting the huge leapfrop and the string of RKO's as well. Kennedy and Punk at the end was good as well. Still lacked the punch of the first one but this was pretty good. Finlay was great here showing some range.
-
While you people are going to try to argue about how that match wasn't a good finish and such bullshit. Let's put over how great the production was tonight. The light display and camera angles were fantastic tonight.
-
It didn't suck. Great main event. Solid US title match that could have used another 5 minutes, as usual. A fun spot fest opener. A hot World Title match and the rest was really short. Crowd and marks flipped for the BoB. It hit all on points tonight. Even the Originals went over. The right booking was done across the table. Kennedy wins but Punk looks like a threat at the end. Ashley doesn't win and basically gets squashed. Kane is written out. Khali looks like a monster for getting right up after being slammed. MVP looks crisp against the vetran and Benoit goes over but obviously builds to a rematch. Undertaker goes over but Batista looks strong enough. The BOB was made for marks and delivered. Originals squash New Breed and the main event was done right and worked well. The only negatives was probably the placement of the two world title matches and in the end, doesn't hurt anything. The worst thing was the McMahon-Aurora skit.
-
The pacing of the main event was done quite well in getting Cena's boo's minimized. The whole structure of the match worked well in that regard as well as selling the match itself. 52 hit it on the head. People are acting really dumb with this "I HATE THE STFU" attitude. The whole progression of the match, leading to the finish was great. I know that a SCM is pretty and everything but Cena was ripping Shawn's head off at the end.
-
It was a good match, Shawn and Cena worked well and had the crowd going. Good sequences all around and the finish wasn't bullshit at all. How can people be so upset about the most obvious finish. Stop acting like Cena is killing the WWE.
-
How could anyone hate on that match? Great stuff. I love you guys acting like 5 year old marks. "I HATE CENA! HOW CAN HE DO THE STFU!"
-
That was an excellent match from start to finish.
-
This has been really good. Shawn going with the slow methodical pace only to get busted open and panics and knows he needs to get in gear right away and finish him off and go BIG. Great stuff.
-
They spent millions on Cena's entrance and couldn't afford security.
