Good call. I guess that means it'll possibly be Dustin: Dusty Flair: Perfect Heenan: Bockwinkel Russell (if King gets his way): Lawyer Ross (if he does end up getting inducted as expected)- Austin If the Von Erichs go in who inducts them?

He's already a mix of Sanders and Douglas, might as well push it all the way. Just insert some random F bombs and it's all set.

    American Idol

I just meant in relation to the early "you pick the song" rounds where people who do the power ballads don't always hit it. Besides, they'll get to the power ballads later in the season, save your big guns if you have them. Like, if you're doing Aerosmith. Do Cryin' and not Don't Wanna Miss A Thing. Some songs can't be matched and it's a waste to attempt it and butcher it. Such as Sundance with Jeremy tonight. Leave that to the professional Vedder clones like Stapp.

    American Idol

I hate to beat a dead horse but as I've been saying since the start of the event, they need to ban people from doing Stevie, Mariah, Whitney, Celine, Christina, Phil Collins and any power rock ballads since they never ever work enough and it just exposes the singer. Also, doing those people just shows no creative mindset. Let me rephrase that. Don't do these people unless you can NAIL it and if you can, don't blow it a early round.

Since he made his debut, has Punk cut a promo aside from that quick "Hey! Knox! FITE ME!" promo a few months back? Not counting those video packages or the little cut-in box promos that last 10 seconds before a match. I mean a real promo. The guy is a brilliant promo and he's been silenced for the most part.
  6. Oh, god. Not another person who actually cares about something capricious as a fucking title lineage.
  7. Guess you haven't been at WWE.COM in a couple of years then.

Shawn doesn't want to be a heel so.... Unless he stands to make alot of money and main event a mega ppv, he'll totally turn heel. Guess what, WM is a mega main event match. However, no heel turn from either. Total Rock/Austin tweener build and its working. I meant turn on Cena. They can only tease the Super-kick to Cena so long before it gets annoying. It's getting pretty close to that point. If HBk doesn't turn on Cena next Raw I'm offecially bored with the fued at that point. I see Shawn finally going for it but Cena quickly counters into a FU attempt where Shawn slips out during their title match with MnM next week. The idea being that the gloves are off now as they each tried to take the other this time but either got the job done.

Angle named in federal steroid sting

I remember when this story broke out a week ago and made the connection between Florida and Pittsburgh and actually thought of Kurt Angle. Not surprised here. As far as media reaction, probably not much but as for the media itself, WWE is the only wrestling promotion and since it's Mania time and Angle is a former WWE worker, WWE likely gets talked about over TNA.
  10. The ROH World Title is the one championship right now that has not just a tremendous history although limited in length in comparison but since it's inception it has been the main focus of that promotion. Something alot of companies can't claim. Samoa Joe and Bryan Danielson had tremendous championship reigns worthy of legendary status not just for indy wrestling but for the history of the business. Two long reigns with incredible matches and feuds during their respective reigns. As well as a tremendous angle involving CM Punk with the title that truly captured the importance the belt holds for the promotion. Not to mention the current world champion being a NOAH talent. It's defended around the world in places like the Budokon as the main event of other wrestling promotions. That title is as close to the NWA World Title as we'll ever see again. It's not about which title has the most history because it isn't fair to compare promotions that have a shelf life of 5 years, or just 10 years against promotions that has been in existance for decades. The question seems to be which matters the most in relation to its promotion and that's easily the ROH World Title. The WWE Titles are secondary to the characters and it works for them.

    Recent Purchases

I just grabbed Lou Barlow's solo album, EMOH this morning. Having only heard a couple of songs before (Legendary and If I Could), I look forward to the rest.

MVP, while not a great wrestler is still one of the main mid-card acts and is effective enough to warrant his match against Benoit at Mania. As for the rest of the qualifying losers, they are all covered already. (Kane gets Khali. Sabu and RVD will be in the NB/Originals tag match. MnM, Carlito, Benjamin and Flair will be in the tag team battle royal/tag team turmoil.)

Figured you'd be here doing this routine. Bockwinkel was a big name for the AWA which is obviously getting alot of play with Perfect and King going in and possibly P.S Hayes. As I said in the Raw thread, you can't just throw in a bunch of current names. They have the "attraction" name with Dusty Rhodes whom is still a popular name for fans. Since they don't have a mega name like Bret, Hogan or Ventura, it's better to get as many of the old timers that'll agree to do it in now before movng onto the more modern names.

MnM-Cena and HBK should be a good main event next week. I wonder if they can possibly do a MnM/Carlito and Flair match (2 Weeks of build wouldn't help but it's enough) or maybe they can do a tag team turmoil with 4 other teams including London and Kendrick with both titles on the line. Either way, get MnM on the show. MnM-WGTT-Carlito/Flair-London/Kendrick-TBirds-Regal/Taylor. That's a primo match there. Titles aren't neccesary either.

Took Bob Orton Jr about 15 years to heal from that broken arm.

Cena/Nitro is quickly becoming the Cena/Edge of 2007. Isn't this the 20th time they worked each other? Where is the stat-geek?

Also, in theory the WWE HOF should have a shelf life for as long as the WWE exists. They'll get to people like Austin, 'Taker, HHH and Foley in due time. Let's get the stars of the 70's, 80's and early 90's in first and establish a fucking legacy to the thing.

That's why you got JR/King, Rhodes and Perfect already. Lets be honest, to most marks, Dusty Rhodes means nothing. So, explain why his dvd sold well. Or why he still gets a big pop when he appears. Dusty is a legend and in a good deal of the country, Rhodes was similar to Steve Austin. A guy who you apparently worship. You'd probably want to throw current wrestlers and the rejects of the attitude era into the HOF just so you can mark out.

That's why you got JR/King, Rhodes and Perfect already. Also, for a HOF to work...you'd have to induct...the older class. Which is generally the purpose of a HOF in any sport. It adds that little shred of credibility to it when you add people like Bockwinkel.

I just want to see a skit with Orton laughing about being in a MitB match saying he isn't going to kill himself for a title shot, he'll just earn it. Then as the time passes, he gets more paranoid that he won't live up to that promise and starts begging to get a qualifier but acting all subtle about it. Leading to him cheating like crazy in the last chance battle royal. If anything, I'd have WGTT win the titles from a distracted Cena/HBK and set up a WGTT/Carlito and Flair match at Mania but that won't happen. Anyways, I still see Carlito and Flair winning the battle royal. They celebrate in the back, Flair sneaks a quick kiss to Torrie and that sets Carlito off and he finally turns full heel.
