    ECW 2/27

Yet, Punk and Matt Hardy will be in the match. Life's a bitch, Finlay.

You really thought Sabu was going over? Back away from the wii.

I expect Matt to beat Finlay or Mercury to get the next spot. I'd have Orton/Benoit with Orton getting that one. Holly/Snitsky fill the match by beating someone like Flair or Carlito.

So, with the exception of Hardy/Benjamin, are all the MitB qualifyers going to be cross-brand?

Seriously, get rid of Paula before she od's on live TV.

At least Sundance has some personality, a couple others come off as fish flopping around up there.

We got Jack Osbourne and Turtle/Lake on the show.

I've been saying it for the past two weeks, fuck Abdul. Bring in Jewel. Ratings would only increase and credibility will only be installed.
  9. She does? Yeah. Maybe it's a product of her boyfriend, but she does have a good knowledge of the industry as she was a fan growing up. She's often at ROH shows with Punk and generally into the show as a fan.

Another cute girl but he's a decent looking guy so he gets no points for it.
  11. Nope. Can't see them doing away with JR, though I personally wouldn't mind. I think Cole is the best announcer in the biz at this point. WWE has been looking to kick JR to the curb for good but since they can't find a legitimate replacement to fit the mold, they are holding onto him. They made it a point to have Cole call the Rumble instead of JR, to present him as the key play by play man of the company.

Hey, that's a cute wife and doing "Trouble" is awesome.
  13. She was hired to be a looker. She's doing her job. Not every diva is going to be like Maria and have an insane understanding of the history of the business. If you worked for McDonald's, should you know every detail about the company? No. You do your job with the fries and thats all that matters.
  14. Until TNA wants to team him and Hoyt together.

Also, since Ross is in as well, can we safely assume that Austin will play that role?

So who'll do inductions? Dusty Rhodes-Ric Flair or Dustin Rhodes Curt Henning-Bobby Heenan or Ric Flair (Larry Henning to accept) Jerry Lawler-Bill Dundee or Jimmy Valiant I'd like to see Flair, Heenan and Dustin do the speeches and since Heenan and Flair are connected to so many people, they can realistically do a speech for any of them.
  19. That's quite the shitty two punch there for Test. Wreck followed up by firing. Who will console Leena?

2007 Ozzfest tickets to be free

Bleeding Through doesn't seem to be set for a summer tour, wouldn't be shocked if they are a part of the headline stage. Is there going to be a Gigantour this year? I missed last year's but I caught the first one in 2005 and it wasn't a bad show but I haven't heard anything about a follow up for this year.

ESPN sucks, so do thread closers

Think of it this way: Normal team sports have 30 or so teams to cover. There are 50 NASCAR drivers. Also, unlike team sports, any story about any driver will contain loads of incidental advertising. It's cheap marketing, and it's how NASCAR grew so quickly over the last ten years. Don't worry, the bubble's going to burst within the next few years. Factor in that every week is a different location, different type of track. Last weekend they were in California on 1.5 mile track and this weekend, ESPN's Busch Series is in Mexico on a road course. You can't really run out of something to talk about. There's always drivers with dissension, crew chiefs bending the rules, people getting fired left and right for things like missing a beat on the pit stop and many other things. How is it any different when ESPN or any other network will devote constant coverage to a specific story, sometimes for well over a day or even a week. If they can spend 3 months talking about T.O and how he may or may not get along with his coaches before anything actually happens, you can talk about items relating to NASCAR.
  22. What's with Vince being on the ball these days? He wants to push cruiserweights, sign international talent that already have large fanbases, push Stephanie's most hated wrestler and wants to make ECW relevant. Now, he realizes that he can't compete with UFC on MMA. Isn't there a good amount of low level MMA companies (I know there's a local one around here) already? I think Vince probably has learned with the failure in football, body building and whatever else. Surprise he hasn't tried to buy a racing league like ASA and drive (pardon the pun) into the ground. Focus on making wrestling relevant, it has its own major niche audience like MMA.

    2006-07 MLB Offseason Thread

If anything, he's been more of a "jackass" now since coming home to Cincinnati then he was in the 90's. He's still still tremendously fan friendly but is touchy with the local media but I can't blame him for that. His demeanor hasn't really changed, just his health. I do wonder if he hadn't gotten plauged with constant injuries, would he be in Barry's shoes? We know when he hasn't been hurt, he can still jack homers and make plays. He'll get to 600 (possibly this season if he's healthy) and in time, people will remember him more. I guess he's forgotten now because he plays in a small market and isn't complicted in any steroid talk right now along not being an real active enough player but his numbers along with his once (and still, to a lesser extent) tremendously marketable personality will place him among the top players of all time.
