Oh, like that wasn't planned. Probably wanted to gauge who the fans were more behind for tonight.

Teddy Hart stripped of heavyweight title at JAPW promotion in NJ..

Necro is a really good guy who will always hang out with the fans before, during and after a show. -
Orton-Cena-Edge. Triple Threat. Quite frankly, Edge/Cena (overused as it might be) or including Shawn to make it a 4-Way would do more then a Cena/Orton match. Quite frankly, inserting Shawn would make it quite similar to WM2000 with Edge and Cena playing Rock/HHH, Orton playing TBS (youngest guy billed as the future) and Shawn as Foley. A triple threat was done last year with Orton and it was flimsy. Just stick Shawn in there. A fatal four way would be a bad idea. The card is looking weak from an in ring point as it is. Putting three of your best workers in one match when you should be spreading them out would be very unwise. Wrestle Mania isn’t about in ring product and slotting Shawn into that match hardly damages the quality of the show. All it means is using another face to slot with Trump against McMahon and Booker. There’s over 50 other wrestlers in the company to pick up the in-ring product and that can easily be achieved in the under-card. The only issue using Shawn in the title match is the risk of Cena looking like a second fiddle. In all honestly, I’d prefer Cena Vs Shawn, with Edge against Undertaker as the other program setting Batista against Orton for the Trump/McMahon feud. Cena/Shawn would be pretty good and give an interesting crowd dynamic, Edge/Taker works on more levels and Batista/Orton is fine there. All it requires is Edge to win the Rumble to jump ship to Smackdown and challenge Batista. Batista drops the title to ‘Edge @ N.W.O (it’s not as if it’s implausible they can have Edge sacrifice the WM main event for a title shot at N.W.O) thanks to Orton. That easily sets up three different matches that work much better then the current set up has going and only requires one title change and one wrestler moving over. With those three matches plus the Hogan/Shane, TLC 4 Way and Lashley title defense, just plug in 3-4 more undercard matches (Kennedy/Benoit, Kenny/Carlito, Woman’s Title and probably a big man match involving Umaga and others). You’re right, Cena/Orton/Edge with Shawn/Booker and Undertaker/Batista is much, much better.

It’s been awhile since I said anything here, so I figured I would update. The last time I wrote here I was feeling “down” but that’s gone away and I’m doing well right now. Two weeks ago, I turned 21 which for many is a momentous event but the ideal of turning 21 never quite appealed to me in any way because what’s really the difference between 21 and 20? Nothing, except I can legally purchase alcohol and that’s not exactly something that I care about. The only other advantage it grants me is that I can go to the local casinos. So that was my 21st birthday "extravaganza". My family, Allison and a couple of our friends went to a riverboat casino in Indiana. We had a seafood dinner which was quite good and after a couple hours of crab legs, we decided to board the boat. Unfortunately, Allison couldn’t come with us since she isn’t 21. She stayed at the room with my mother whom doesn’t care for gambling. It was my father, my brother in law with my sister, Allison’s room-mate Danielle, my cousin Chad whom is seeing Danielle and me. It was pretty exciting with the long walk way towards the entrance of the boat. My father is a high roller, so he got me comped $500 which was great obviously since I wasn’t gambling my own money. The atmosphere was quite fascinating with a crowd of middle aged chain smokers sitting on stools tightly gripping and fixated by the bright lights of the slots roaring in non-stop unison. The rooms clouded in smoke and smelled of cheap cologne, beer and smashed nachos. Young girls with tightly wrapped hair in cocktail dressed carrying trays of soda, cigarettes and tiny bags of potato chips and peanuts. It was straight out of a 1950’s movie but the modern technology was all over the place. The tables were full with a great variety. Mustachioed old men leered over at the middle aged mom dealing; the young married men sat impatient looking at the remains of their chips while feeling the sting of their wives in the background. Trashy women sat with fake tans with a cigarette dangling dangerously off the tip of their lips challenging gravity. Wheels spun around in harmony, calls randomly shouted out and gold chains bounced off hairy chests. I took a seat at a slot machine, just the $0.50 machines and immediately felt relieved that I wasn’t interested in this. My father along with some other family members are chronic gamblers and I was hoping I wouldn’t be caught up in the excitement and addiction of gambling and I wasn't. I played a few spins but mostly took in watching the others win and lose, win again and fail once more. I stopped playing after a few minutes and cashed out with $442 intact. I didn’t win any money that night, well, actually I did since that money wasn’t mine to begin with. It was a good time with the people that actually matter and I didn’t need to drink myself stupid to achieve that. School restarted and that’s been a welcome distraction but Allison is back at Oxford with her apartment there and I’m taking classes at Middletown again. Our schedules didn’t fuse which has led to more of a stress on phone/IM/Txt system of communication. It’s just a few months anyways, until we move in together. The house is getting smaller and smaller as my parents have already begun the process of moving out. There has been one negative spot in my life the past couple of weeks and that was the shitty news of finding out my uncle from my mother’s side had lung cancer. I can’t say I’m surprised as I never seen anyone smoke as much as he did. He’s one of the better people involved in my familes , though. It always seems the ones you like get the hard luck while the people you don’t give a shit about catch the breaks. He’s young as well. Just another lesson to learn. I never got why people smoke to begin with. My whole family are smokers aside from myself, my sister and her husband and a couple aunts and cousins here and there but as whole it’s Marbolo country. I’m not against smokers, it’s your body. Do what you want with it, I consume ungodly amounts of caffeine and I’m sure that’s not much worse then smoking. It’s more of the psychological “why would you?” that gets me. Tonight is the ROYAL RUMBLE. Quite frankly, pro wrestling is in shambles (at least the WWE/TNA) and while I’m content with getting my quality wrestling fix with NOAH and ROH, I’d like to see the mainstream promotions finally do something but that isn’t happening. Despite that, the Rumble is a must see event if only for the Rumble match itself. It’s the perfect people gathering show as the main focus of the show is built on short memory and gives a flood of betting games to play. The winners have been blatantly obvious since they inducted the “Winner goes to WM” clause. This year is hardly any exception with Undertaker, Orton, Michaels and Edge being the only shots. It’d be nice to see a surprise winner such as RVD or Punk win to set up the ECW title match since the winner of the rumble is only given a shot at the title, and not necessarily the “MAIN EVENT”. Marvin getting laid in 2007 is more likely then anyone from ECW winning this event.

Here's one that hasn't been done yet: The guy who gets the contract uses it later that night during the main event. Imagine if Orton won the title in the ME, and then Kennedy comes out to cash in after winning MITB earlier in the night and wins the title. I'd mark the fuck out. You'd have two titles changes within minutes both involving heels? The fans would love that.
-
Well, Vince does like pissing off the fans and shitting on one of the very few things that fans look forward to would suit him well. In the "Who will win" thread, I made a prediction in regards to entry/elimination as well as the match itself and I feel secure with the prediction (more of a FB anyways) but I'd have to rescind on the finish of Shawn winning via the news of his plans for WM. I'd still expect the same final but with one of the RRKO heels stealing the win over Shawn in the same manner.

Where did you hear this? I checked the TV listings on Zap2It and it only had a 3 hour slot. Royal Rumble starts here at 7:30 and lasts until 11:00 PM. That's three and a half hours, unless my math is off. That's the pre-show, which is included in the order. The SHOW starts at 8 and ends @ 11 (actually 10:45-10:55). Any chance of them having other unannounced matches at the show? Let's do the math... Four regular matches booked for the PPV. If they each run a half hour, that's 2 hours, leaving an hour for the Rumble match itself. But do we really need to see a half hour of Test vs. Lashley? Or Umaga vs John Cena (although that is a LMS match so it makes more sense) for that matter? 10 minutes total for Test/Lashley 12 minutes for MnM/Hardyz 10 minutes for Kennedy/Batista 20 minutes for Umaga/Cena 65 Minutes for Rumble Add in the time for backstage skits, promos, video packages and you pretty much get 2 hours and 45 minutes which about the average for a WWE ppv. Might get an dark horse of a woman's match that'd get 5 minutes but not likely. Rumble shows are usually 4-5 matches+Rumble.

I usually like how they always manage to have that four corner staredown when it gets to the final four/five and they stand around looking at each other and someone charges. I always liked how the 2004 Rumble had the first and last elimination occur identically with Benoit using the cross-face to drag Bradshaw over the ropes with ease but struggled to do the same to TBS at the end to put over how big Show was and how tired Benoit was.

Geez. He's one of the very few new guys on ECW that's gotten something remotely close to a push. He's a big guy with a vampire fetish and a hot goth valet named Ariel. That's all you need to know about Thorn, ARIEL. Which reminds me that I miss the days where managers would stand ringside during the match.

TLC 4 way seems to be a lock given as I don't expect the MnM/Hardyz issue to actually be settled tonight. Inserted WGTT and Kendrick/London won't take much. All you'd need to do is put the titles off RRKO and get them on WGTT. I explained a couple weeks ago how the MITB isn't needed anymore since the past two winners used them in the two best ways possible. The purpose of the MITB was to just have a spot fest and a purpose for it. The TLC 4 way gives you that. UT/Batista is really the only deadlocked match right now especially as the main event as I still expect the rest of that card to shift. Personally, I don't like the idea of UT getting another reign but I hate the idea of a streak ending with Batista. Team Sausage? That's pretty weak. RRKO is more then enough.

HBK does have that whole thing with Vince that they'll easily revive and Booker fits with McMahon. Quite frankly, I'm disapointed they didn't just keep Hogan/Shane involved with Trump and Vince. Just keep the two horrible ideas fused together but now they are seperated. I would actually think Hogan Vs Booker does more and just have Shawn Vs Shane in another garbage match. Shawn's wasted in that spot, though. Had HHH not gotten injured, Shawn would have well suited for that McMahon/Trump angle being the #3 face. Instead, we'll get a triple threat where Edge/Cena, while it has been a pretty good program that worked, it's just burned out right now and Orton doesn't add anything. Involving Shawn in that match as a Four Way Dance does a little more in the favor of pushing towards a Shawn/Cena program after the fact. Possibly having Edge sneak away with the title and have Shawn do a chase to win the title on the next Raw PPV. Alot of options really to go with for Shawn while involved in the title program but instead gets slotted in a bad spot although a match with Booker wouldn't be the worst thing, it's just not the right timing.

To be fair, the Jericho/Michaels issue started well before the Rumble match.

Yes. More Hardcore Holly jobbing please!

"Thats not a bad thing, it's a good thing!" Remeber that story line? But the person is supposed to be from ANGLE'S PAST... DDP/Steiner is not at all. I wish it could be D-Lo Brown (The FIRST Ever Euro-Continental Champion) or Chris Jericho, of course (but even they never had a big feud). All the guys that would make sense are either working for the WWE still, dead, or are retired (like Brock). Puder would make sense given his history with Angle but other then that, yeah, not much to work with.

That was the cause of the ultimatum raised by TNA. Punk felt he needed to be loyal to ROH and knew he'd be better off there anyways.
-
Punk pretty openly called TNA a joke and said he'd never go back after leaving there..... Punk left TNA when he decided to stay with ROH when TNA said "One or the other". He was basically Raven's bitch in TNA. When TNA and WWE were each trying to buy Punk, TNA offered Punk a 45 minute match on PPV with Joe. Punk turned it down and went with WWE. He admited a few months later that "had I known TNA would get a TV deal, I would have signed with them". The difference in being with TNA and WWE would have been Ring of Honor. I think or I would like to think that Punk, if give a choice now would take TNA since he'd more likely be treated right and if he wasn't he'd still get to work at "home". What gets me is that Punk was very over with Vince when he debuted and he was well liked for being quiet but he had the gall to outpop DX at the Series and stay over. That's what bothers them and they are finding everything to give him heat for. WWE is a fucking high school locker room. Punk's the new kid at school and what's sad is that it's not even the captain of the football team doing this to him, it's the tenured teachers.

I can only imagine Finlay and Anderson in 1996 saying "No, Vince. Don't push that Austin guy. It's time to give Henry Godwin a main event heel push".
-
What about Kolsov? He's not in the rumble. The spoilers were wrong, he "wishes" to be in but he can't but he'll enjoy watching it.

1) Rocky Romero over Davey Richards via submission 2) Jack Evans over Eddie Edwards via pinfall 3) Delirious and Pelle Primeau over Adam Pearce and Shane Hagadorn when Delirious made Hagadorn tap. Pearce was brawling with Pelle outside the ring during the submission. 4) Jimmy Jacobs, Brent Albright, and Lacey over Colt Cabana, BJ Whitmer, and Daizee Haze when Jacobs pinned Daizee after putting her thru a table. Don't quote me on the finish. Daizee got a standing O from the crowd. ~Return date to Braintree in June 8, 2007. Tree also told me the venue is packed...like the best-drawn event in Braintree EVER! 5) Samoa Joe over Nigel McGuinness via submission. Jimmy Rave attacked Joe after the match. ~INTERMISSION~ 6) Jimmy Rave won the Four Corner Survival over Jason Blade, Shingo, and Christopher Daniels when he made Daniels tap to the 'Heel Hook'. 7) Homicide pinned Chris Hero following "the sickest Cop Killa I've ever seen." 8) ~Briscoes take fall #1 after a spike Jay-Driller on Strong ~Briscoes take fall #2 after spike Jay-Driller on Aries ~Briscoes win 2 falls to 0.

Because all of those real fights are ALL the same and really really really really REALLY boring. Not saying that "fake fights" are any better, but at least the (on the most part) entertaining. The whole CM Punk situation is beyond hillarious. With the excepetion of RVD, hes the most over star on the roster and will be untill hes gone. Why not push him? Becuase of attitude problems? Yet Randy Orten CONTINUES to fuck up and STILL gets pushed into the main event picture? Wrong on all counts. WWE matches follow the same format week in and week out. UFC or any brand of MMA have such wide range of differences in the fights, it actually creates a fresh choice often. Sometimes you'll get a snoozer with MMA as you would with any sport.

Anyways. How you people see this going as far as entry/elimination order and such? Here's how I see this going as I put down in another board

MTV has three networks of non-stop music. At least MTV still is about Music from time to time. VH1 has been all pop culture and nothing more. Yoi can change the purpose of the network. Discovery Channel and others changed the formats, why should MTV be forced to not adapt and change. I was out tonight, so I missed the first airing but I'm hearing good things and will catch another replay.
