Weren't the writers praising Detroit/Ontario for being really good hosts thanks to the casinos and such? Jacksonville? Yeah, that's basically a nothing town that really probably never should've hosted the game. I remember writers complaining about how Glendale had nothing except the stadium during bowl week, so unless they fix things before next year, writers will find time to complain about the lack of things to do. Might as well stick to having the game in San Diego/Miami/New Orleans and be done with the other sites because obviously that plays such an important role in the quality of the game.

These voters don't know their Rumble history. Martel would never be eliminated so early. Also, this is a battle royal format anyways.

Didn't Children of Men just come out? Maybe it's just a case of "too late" to make an impression since all the movies nominated here have been out longer or had buzz dating over a year ago (especially Departed and Dreamgirls).

I'm pretty sure Punk would get told he isn't ready to cough in the WWE. The boys in the back just sound like the biggest bunch of whiners, but then I remember that they are constantly stuck with stupid angles and pointless loses and realized that they are probably just misplacing anger. Punk just happens to be the guy making out with his hot girlfriend while they are all stuck away from their families getting told they need to lose a match to Torrie's dog. I might start to hate the guy too. Thanks for posting this, another great round of WWE news. I don't think he's getting heat from the wrestlers. It's the Yes Men like Anderson and Finlay that are so bothered by him being a threat by getting so over so quick.

Or: "HOOOOOOOOOOO!". Not quite sure if the brief pop is worth taking SUPER CRAZY out.

Poor Punk. He can't even make out with his girl anymore without pissing off the boys in the back. Also, Matt Sydal is a strange interest. I figured Cabana would be the obvious interest and Hart is hardly a surprise given that they already had him once and he does have the family name.

Good for Chicago. BAD for Miami.

Hogan/Umaga wouldn't be as bad of a choice. I liked the idea of Foley W/Trump Vs Shane W/Vince. Foley being a "mainstream" guy that Vince hates and even used the "You're Fired" act on him (which is one of the reasons this even exists) against Vince's son in a garbage match does more for the angle then Hogan/Khali. Khali can be Shane's bodyguard. I'm not encouraging using Shane or Foley but since they aren't going to bother putting over a younger talent like Carlito, might as well set up something that'll be entertaining enough. I don't like the idea of Cena Vs Rated RKO. Might as well make it a 4 Way with Shawn included. I'd still rather see Edge Vs Undertaker since there's more to work with on that side then Batista/Undertaker which becomes a corner booked match.

$1.81. Feels like 2004 all over again.

Someone really needs to throughly explain how this game isn't appealing because I'm not seeing it. Great offense meets great defense, with mysteries abound for the other sides of the field. A field general in Manning looking to cement his legacy against the young QB with a questionable ability to handle the pressure with nothing to lose but everything to gain. Two good rushing attacks. Special teams will play a factor. That's before getting into the dynamics of a young (in tenure) head coach against his former mentor whom has been around for awhile waiting for this moment to come. Were you really wanting to see Shannon Sharpe do a remorseful yarn about Katrina? The game is a complete mystery because who knows which team shows up.

Gosling is a tremendous actor. His work in "The Believer" cemented that status alone but he was really good in "Half Nelson". Don't judge him for a role in a romantic movie. If we're judging people on past performences, look at Smith in" Bad Boys II" and "Wild Wild West", Whitaker in "Light It Up" or "Battlefield Earth" or O Toole in "Phantoms" and who knows what else in his long career. Many great actors have a "bad" mark on their record (and Notebook wasn't really a bad movie).

Well, # 1 and # 30 both drew their numbers together at the past two Rumbles..... Rey was #2, actually. -

I'm calling Edge and Orton drawing together and finding out that Orton drew #1 and Edge drew #30. -

Does it really need Masters? Should slot another pair of Smackdown guy in that place of him (Mercury, for instance). Dump Thorn and make it 12/12/6 instead of the clumpy 13/10/7. -

Helms, Crazy and Khali were added. Cor Von and Mercury don't make the cut. -

Looks like Helms finally got added officially now. I think we're at 29 now. Edit: Crazy is in too. That makes it 13/10/7. I figured Marquis Cor Von would get added but I guess not. -

Okay, that was kind of cool right there. Face Khali rules. -

I'm shocked they went without having a match for the #30 spot this year or any real push for the rumble match itself. I still expect Orton and Edge to split 1 and 30, respectively. -
Here's another factor to the question posed earlier, Homicide might not even be the champion on 2/17. I wouldn't put it past them to have Rave win on 2/16.

Gabe was making heavy suggestions that ROH will change forever and Morishima winning the title would live up to that level. I'm not sure if I can see Morishima carrying the title back over to Japan (since I doubt they do a one week reign for him to drop it to Whitmer). I hope they don't do the draw finish but I think Gabe knows that has been played out. Morishima will work 4 matches but I don't think he'll take all of them. The heavy favorite for 2/23 would have to be Nigel or perhaps a Nigel/Morishima Vs Briscoes tag match. Very interesting stuff and it's just the start for ROH here.

It was just announced 20 minutes ago. I'll be there for the 2/23 and 2/24 shows.

They might mention it five times at most. If you wanna be a dumbass and avoid a fresh matchup with lots of things to get excited about, that's fine. It was the first thing they asked the winning teams, the first thing they noted and already talked about it in the pre-games. Aside from the Manning "History @ the Big Game" and Rex's "issues", this will be the BIGGEST story for the next two weeks.

Better to have 2 instead of one or we'd have a nation of Scoop Jackson's and Wilbon's doing their usual moronic about racism.

That's precisely what I said 30 minutes ago. The media had to beg that one guy from Seattle to say something to piss off Porter. Other then that, what the hell were people talking about? There was zero national interest in that affair and the game itself provided nothing worthwhile as well. Right off the bat, you get the media ready "Black Coaches" angle, the faces of the NFL (Manning and Urlacher), Defense Vs Offense and you can probably add the suspense of Tank Johnson doing something dumb in Miami. It hasn't even been an hour and there's already loads more interest and plots for this game then last year and the Brady Bowls minus the TO circus.
