Hell, I was two weeks old the last time Chicago went to the Super Bowl.
-
It's not so much as a ratings concern but rather a "what can we talk about for two weeks and who cares about these teams?" isssue which is null since as I said before, Chicago has a national fanbase with history. Manning is the face of the NFL and have a popular offense that is attractive. Not to mention the big story from the media, Two Black Coaches.
-
Explain this to me real quick. Why was Brady always compared to Montana? It seems to me that Brady was always more of a Terry Bradshaw minus the good looks. That's the only difference for Brady to be compared to Montana as opposed to Bradshaw.
-
Chicago is the #3 market with a national fanbase and holds a great deal of history. Peyton Manning is the face of the NFL and comes with a explosive offense that people love to see. Who wanted to see Seattle/Pittsburgh? Fuck that shit. Indy/Chicago? That's BIG.

What a game. Too bad the Super Bowl won't live up to it by any measure.
-
WOW. WOW. WOW. WOW. WOW. DEFENSE!
-
Is it a reach to think this game not only will be better then the SB but also getting higher ratings?
-
YES! Just a little too much time, though. It all comes down to the worst aspect of the Colts...stoping the KICKOFF. Adam needs to just drill it to the endzone for the touchback.
-
NE still has 3 timeouts as well.
-
If he wasn't trying for the highlight reel TD INT, he could have got that ball and given the team tremendous field advantage. They MUST score 7. They can't settle for the FG and let Brady go for a Brady drive win. DAMN! I thought he lost the damn ball or was trying for a lateral.
-
"This drive is to define Manning's legacy"
-
Vinatieri's kicks keep looking closer and closer to missing. I fear that the obvious will occur.
-
If NE doesn't win this game, Caldwell might want to call Buckner up.
-
Go back to the pre-season and that's precisely what I predicted. It's pretty much the situation everyone is expecting to see.
-
Is that the new power play? "Fumble, fat guy picks it up in the scrum and crawls to the goal line".
-
Given how the post-season generally works, Indy will probably regret giving this timeout up.
-
Yeah, but Pats would be worse. Besides, Midwest pride and all that jazz. Correct but I worry morons like Wilbon would turn a Colts/Bears game into a glorification of minority rights. It's the only thing the media will bother to cover because the only other real topic is the inconsistency of Sexy Rexy and the big game failures of Manning. Maybe Tank will get arrested for good measure. (Actually, isn't there a issue about him possibly not being able to travel to Miami?)

There's the difference between Manning from Brady, Favre and Elway among others. Manning never seems to be upset aside from his Peyton Manning "Gee" expression. The aforementioned QB's usually would abuse his offense and fire them up. Yet, Manning sits down and sulks wondering who he'll point the finger to.

It's CBS this time around.

Well, I couldn't find a funny picture for the other two. How am I going Marvin? I didn't post during the game. Come on now. That was more of a pre-emptive suggestion, especially if New England wins tonight.
-
My answer is simple, Bears fans and Rex Grossman. Bears fans? For a large fanbase, they are really under the radar. Chicago Bears fans are generally likable people. It's the Eagles, NY and Boston fans that are completely unlikable. Rex Grossman is a product of the media trying to create a story. Many QB's have pretty bad games. Manning and Brady had horrible post-season games here and the general attitude is "They'll recover", while Grossman is met with "He'll probably blow it" or "He's a big risk". Rex is just the typical meathead QB. We went through that last year with the NFC's rep in the SB.

Send it to New Orleans. The city needs to rebuild again after today.
-
Czech's hard-on for ESPN is really disturbing given that FOX, CBS and the national media generally felt the same. "The Boo-yahs", really? Czech, you're better then that. Also, don't go Marvin on us as well.
-
Belichick can spend the two weeks at the golf course and in the clubhouse banging someone's wife instead of coming up with any sort of scheme against Grossman. The only plan needed will be making sure Grossman gets to the stadium that night. All kidding aside, Rexy looked shaky at times but he stepped up big time on that drive and helped his team secure that win but the big "props" is for the rushing duo attacks and the aggressive defense. I was hoping for NO simply because I like that high style offense to play Indy but the defense and unpredictablity of Rex makes them a fun team to watch. Did Bradshaw have a big bet on the Bears? He seemed more excited then the players were. Geez, not even 10 minutes after the game and the networks are already shoving the "BLACK COACH! OMG!" down our throats.
