That's never been confirmed from a legitimate source but it holds some level of credibility given how harsh their stance is against Savage.
-
So, this becomes the second straight PPV where a freak injury steals the show. Just imagine if they had made this the main event.
-
Yes. They are good for at least four field goals.
-
First of all, the name Savage is like poison to WWE. That'll never happen as long as Vince, Linda, Stephanie, HHH and Shane run the show and Hogan's alive. Also that's placing the WM3 Mid-Card main event with a WM6 Main Event type match. Makes zero sense. Why would they bother being in anyone's corner? They have no connection whatsoever. If the match was Edge Vs Paul London, that'd work but thats not the case.
-
Here's the problem Marvin, was SB Suck in HD? If not, then it doesn't mean anything. Baltimore is doomed. You see Marvin, you backed the wrong horse again.
-
Cena Vs Batista would be heavily booked just like Warrior/Hogan was. It'd be about the split crowd. You wouldn't need to do a unification match for it. The name value alone sells it. Orton and Edge seem wasted by just working Flair and someone else at Mania. Edge spent the last year making Cena the top face, his reward shouldn't be a tag match although it'd allow him to extend the streak. HBK/Cena requires a heel turn for Shawn and unlike with Hogan, Shawn isn't likely to turn for the sake of turning. He'll get a high profile match regardless. Also, if they do end up doing Hogan/Vince Vs Eric/TBS (which is beyond stupid) then they have to call off Lashley/Khali because you can't emulate WM3 twice here.
-
It does seem silly that he can't FU Umaga despite having FU'd many others his size or bigger. I know wrestling is all about illusions but that one is pushing it. I think the idea of not keeping Umaga down and his high tolerance for pain which prevents tapping to the STFU works more then Cena simply being incapable of actually FU'ing him.
-
What bothers me about that is, Batista is so injury prone that you run the risk of never getting to do this match especially on a stage like WM23 in front 70k+. You could look at this as an opportunity and 3 months is a long time in WWE Land. I don't remember Warrior/Hogan being pushed far in advance.
-
No, but with the other top names taken care of, what else is there that doesn't involve bringing someone over from Smackdown? Cena-Hogan That's even worse. Hogan would make Cena look bad. They spent alot of time building Cena back into an effective face and there's no way they could let Hogan take it away. It's not like WWE hasn't shifted people over at tis time. Moving Cena/Batista isn't any different from Shawn/Angle two years ago and you really need a mega match up with that crowd and the people watching. Undertaker/Batista, Flair/Shawn-R-RKO, Lashley/Kahli and Cena/Umaga doesn't cut it.
-
Flair's the only logical choice, really giving the history and the fact they'd want a big name involved. All the other top faces need to be busy elsewhere. You can't just plug Carlito in that spot. However, it's stupid to extend it anyways when you could get more by making small moves. Umaga/Cena just isn't a WM program.
-
Oh, Flair/HBK Vs R-RKO and Cena Vs Umaga? That sure sounds like a WM quality pair there.
-
Really, the only option right now is to extend Shawn/Orton and take the title off Cena and put it on Orton. Send Edge over to win the World Title and do a program with Taker and do the mega main event with Cena/Batista since thats the ONLY money match left right now. It'd make Raw's title match the #3 main event with Lashley/Khali @ #4 but Taker/Edge would be huge along with Cena/Batista. Shawn is hurt but he can probably extend himself for another three months. I just don't think a three way or four way involving Cena is right for WM. Cena/Batista already have slightly built up and Edge/Taker writes itself. Some might want to push for Shawn/Cena but I don't know if Vince likes that idea enough for his top star. Cena/Batista was already in talks awhile back and it has that Warrior/Hogan feel to it. They'd get more out of that then Shawn/Cena. Save Cena/Shawn for an actual program after WM.
-
Oh, lord. Looks like Cena/Orton for WM now. OUCH. Might want to push Cena/Batista as the main event now because Cena/Orton sure as hell won't work. Stick Orton/HBK for the title, push Edge over to SD to work Undertaker and you might salvage WM.
-
Probably because it doesn't feel like a title game and knowing that it'll take place in the same stadium as the Fiesta Bowl Classic a week later doesnt help.

His father acted as his agent but it made no difference who represented him. Eli still stood behind the push for the trade.
-
I know you're from UK but you should know who Donald Trump and Rosie O' Donnell are. "That Damn Guy" only happens to be a NCAA Football legend, former world champion and fairly known name from the WWE peak.

They hold him to an unattainable standard because he was a #1 draft pick who forced a team to trade away key draft picks for his services. Held another team hostage to get those demands. He has failed to live up to that and that's why he gets the treatment. If he was a low 1st round pick or didn't cause those waves in addition to the success that Ben, Palmer and now Rivers have managed, he would get a longer leash but playing the way he does in that market isn't a good thing. He earned his negative treatment.

WWE has the whole "surprise random multi-team match gimmick" on lockdown.
-
People aren't saying he's bad because he's a Manning. He's bad with or without the name.
-
What a strange drive. False starts abound yet Manning figures it out to make this a game again.
-
They are clearly falling asleep watching this game. I don't blame them.
-
Exactly. Think of how many people missed the BSU/Oklahoma ending because it went pass midnight and it was a work/school night. The Super Bowl always starts early enough to avoid going late, why can't they do this with these bowl games? They don't need to start at 8:30. This goes for the World Series as well.

It's just the WWE standard to break up teams and already planted the typical seeds of dissension. Smackdown's tag division consists of 2 teams while Raw has suddenly boosted the tag division to a robust 4 teams (High Landers, Murdoch/Cade, WGTT, Cryme Tyme) with DX and R-RKO having a brief stay. Not to mention the Hardyz and MnM who can wrestle on all three brands. It's a slight improvment, for now. Either of London and Kendrick are primed for a push anytime soon, especially for a main event push. If they split them to bolster the CW ranks that has been dead for the past 6 months with Helms rarely defending it and being involved with Hardy and Boogeyman, I wouldn't be opposed to it.

Flair being on a list of selfless professionals is pretty funny but The Rock is probably the hands down choice as far as main event level names go. Players like Steamboat, Dibiase, Jericho and many others along that plateau deserve to be noticed but being a top shelf star and be selfless is a tremendous quality and The Rock emphasized that far greater then others. The Rock was always willing to put someone over, even low mid-card acts like Hurricane and especially his efforts with Jericho. He had every reason to pull a Hogan and demand certain things but he put people on his way out both times. Some people will make the idiotic "he left the business! he only cares about himself" arguement but those people are very much wrong. HBK marks will cry about Rock refusing to work HBK but it's warranted and every top flight star has generally refused to work with someone. Foley is a mixed bag because while he's always willing to put someone over (Orton, Joe, Punk, HHH etc, etc) he still has selfish agendas such as he crusade against Flair and putting himself over.

Kendrick is a fantastic heel, while London always look more in place as the face. I'm not sure if Ashley will still be a part of Kendrick/London leading into Mania, as knowing Vince he doesn't want his playboy model seen with two small guys. I could see Ashley leaving them because of the "pressure" and Kendrick turns heel seeing as he lost the girl because of London. They shouldn't split anyways at least not until WM where they can slide into the TLC match with Hardyz/MnM/WGTT.
