    IP Board v2.2 Upgrade Issues

Editing a post takes forever and it has that tacky "post was edited at this time" stamp. It's too busy for it's own good. Also, I keep slipping in and out of logged in status.
  2. Take Meltzer boy out and put some one else in place there.

Exactly. Given his comedic timing, presence and ability to be funny, he does have quite the potential post-wrestling avenue ahead for him. I could totally see him doing a DWTS type show and having great success with that. Big men are always in demand especially ones who can act and TBS can do just that.

Child Arrested After Opening Holiday Gift Early

It's December 6th. Who puts out presents that early? It's like putting the turkey out to set during Halloween and telling dad not to eat the turkey.

There's a shocker. What do you expect from Big Show? **** matches? Him and Brock really worked really well together. I remember he had a pretty good match with HHH in the Road to WM tourney. Yeah, TBS was good when he had something to work with. Andre never had great snowflake classics but he rarely gets that "lazy" tag. Most people just dont seem to get that a 7'0 500 lb'er isn't going to work like Samoa Joe or Kurt Angle. Calling TBS lazy is probably one of the most idiotic things you can say considering how often he takes unprotected bumps and chair shots with his size and condition.

    ROH: The Chicago Spectacular Weekend

The four ways usually involve multiple issues at once or is just used for hot openers. That's basically the point of ROH, to have multiple things happening at once. You have guys like Jacobs feuding with BJ and Colt at the same time because of Lacey and it doesn't feel silly. Danielson still has Joe, Nigel and 'Cide marching after him and it doesn't feel forced. ROH was built on dream matches but with a strong niche market attched and a steady profit, they can be old school in their execution.

Hogan's not out of a match. They'll make something work. Cena is more likely NOT to be defending the title. That's almost assured to be HHH/Edge(or Orton, whomever HHH chooses). However, Cena is basically placed with the leftover from RKO or Batista.

    ROH: The Chicago Spectacular Weekend

They need to be elevating people? Um, kinda like how 2006 was the YEAR of Matt Sydal, Nigel McGuinness, Jimmy Jacobs, Delirious, Davey Richards, Briscoes (who are completely changed since their original run) and of course, the influx of Dragon Gate and NOAH superstars, including KENTA and Marufuji. They are building for the NOAH/ROH supershow with Joe against Morishima and the probable Joe/Kobashi II match. ROH hasn't done the "random" matches for the sake of random matches since the former owner was sent away. Every match usually has a purpose. Do you even follow ROH? It hasn't been remotely like that at all. Danielson spent the entire year battling Roderick Strong, Nigel McGuinness, Colt Cabana, Delirious with multiple rematches. He's wrestled Joe, TWICE this year. The 60 minute draw and the 20 minute street fight. Before that, they haven't wrestled since 2004. ROH has a tremendous amount of main eventers...

    Friday Night Lights...

I don't think it suffered and the stories weren't packed in by any means. It was structured fairly well. Of course Riggins wasn't going to say much. He's never been that talkative before except when drunk. He knows how much he fucked up and there's nothing he can say.

    2006-07 MLB Offseason Thread

Because they've done what small market teams have to do. When Santana's deal is up, they have no way to pay him 30 million dollars a year, and I'd like to see them try to re-sign Joe Mauer and Morneau. Zito's going to get 20 million a year. When that day comes and it will, they will have new, fresher and more importantly, cheaper players ready to slide in.

One could argue that with alot of other sport stars whom are still used to draw a crowd or actors whom rely on their name value to draw a BO instead of the quality of their performence. If people still want to see Hogan, why would Vince throw away that cash cow?

Andre and Hogan had a series of matches prior to that one, going all the way back to the days when Hogan was a completely bland cocky heel who didn't speak. I think Hulk Still Rules has one that took place about five years prior in a sports stadium as an extra. Even still. There was a history behind the match at WMIII. The two were buddies up until that point on Piper's Pit where Andre tore teh cross right off of Hogan's neck and challenged him to the title match. The nWo/Dungeon of Doom history behind Hogan and Show is lame and is no comparison. Ill-conceived, yes... but Hawk, still retarded. Except they have covered their (kayfabe) history over the years of Hogan discovering Show at a basketball game and have constantly been aligned with each other dating back to the nWo. It's not like their history is meaningless. Since using Hogan is probably a must for Vince, TBS was the best option to use in place for such a historic event especially given the circumstances of the situation.
  13. Think we'll see more of Cena headlining the Smackdown PPV's? If he helps with Armageddon, he'll be back for sure. Sure, especially since I am more confident in Vince pulling the trigger on Cena/Batista by the day. 'Taker/Batista would be great for the Rumble and Batista can take a victory there and get the same effect as he would for ending the streak. I don't see the titles being on the line as it's not neccesary. At some point after NYR and probably NWO, Cena will drop the title to Orton/Edge (which ever HHH perfers to work with for Mania, hopefully Edge) and most likely, in typical WWE fashion, Cena will cost Batista the title at that show. Assuming you're correct, who would be in the title match for SD? Taker I can see, but their list of other Wrestlemania candidates is limited to Booker, Benoit, Kennedy, and an outside chance of Finlay or brining over someone from Raw. Or given that they'll have Cena/Batista and some combination of Orton/Edge/HHH, will it not matter who's fighting for the WHC? The beautiful thing about SD not mattering to WWE, they can take a risk. It's possible they might take the leftover of the RKO side and send them over to SD and work 'Taker or Benoit. I would just do Orton/Benoit since it'd be the #4 at best anyways behind the Edge/HHH, Batista/Cena, Taker/whoever(Umaga at this point) and possibly the ecw title.

    Friday Night Lights...

Oh, I see. That's why I love this show, not just for the great acting and character but because I get this stuff. I don't think the show does enough to truly show how insane these towns are.

    Friday Night Lights...

Good. The show is not about football. It's about the effect football has on the lives of the people in this small town. It has everything to do with football and football culture! Seriously, stop watching the show if you don't understand it. Bob, serious question. You're from the northeast, right? Never sure quite where, but exactly what is the high school football culture like there since I've always went under the impression that it's as big up there as it is here or Texas, for that matter but yet it doesn't have that big reputation as those two areas do. Here, you go 40 miles south or west and it's like football doesn't exist. Basketball is the only sport that is around there.

Andre/Hogan pt. II in Detroit, 20 years later. Andre is dead and we've seen Show and Hogan fight TONS of times in the past. It's not like Andre and Hogan had a series of matches before WM III, they only had like one match prior to that didn't they? As a concept it's completely retarded. In reality, it's still completely retarded. Leave it up to WWE. It's in Detroit. On the 20th anniversary of the biggest moment in the history of that company at the greatest event of that companies history. It's not "retarded", it's ill-conceived.

  18. Smackdown is generally a better card then you'll get with Raw PPV's and even the co-brand shows. With it being a month before, don't discount some cross-promotional stuff.

Because we all understand that Show is leaving because he physically can't handle wrestling anymore. Also, still is under contract with WWE for the time being with the film department.

    Friday Night Lights...

It's about teenagers playing football. Of course they have to focus on their drama, and I think it's good TV. Julie-Saracen is awesome. I am getting sick of them winning every game with some miracle I thought it was going to be more like the movie, which it isn't at all. They have the Street drama with Lilia(sp), which has nothing to do with football! He is just a character who was injured and it really has nothing to do with the team winning games. I really feel like I'm watching Dawson's Creek here. There was about 10 minutes of football in the whole episode and the show is supposed to be about football. We don't need these love stories. I like the story with Smash and the roids, but that is about it. If they keep this up, I'm going to stop watching it. I thought it was going to be more like the book, which it has been. The book covered the personal lives of the players and the community, in great detail, while the movie obviously couldn't do that. You don't come from an area where high school football is the most important thing, which is probably why you're unaware of the importance of Lyla and Jason. Communities that live and die by the high school football team, are greatly involved in the lives of their players. Jason is constantly refered to as the heart of the team and in turn, the heart of that town. Lyla, cheating on Jason with the town bad boy (as the Riggins are constantly viewed as) is huge for that town. What you want is Playmakers, a completely absurd show about football but since it involved more football action, you probably liked it.
  22. Show himself has admitted that he lives on junk food and never works out. For people to say that nagging injuries have left him in the shape he's in is just stupid. He had a world of potential as a legit giant and he was just too lazy to try. I guess you don't get that it's fairly hard to work out with constant nagging injuries especially considering his condition and size. "potential legit giant"?, he IS a giant. Being a legitimate giant isn't like being a really tall guy. Shaq is tall but TBS has gigantism.

Didn't you see what I said? KC isn't losing in Arrowhead. In Baltimore, sure, but not KC. The power of HD will end the KC dominance in Arrowhead.

A match with Hogan was the only thing he was even remotely willing to stick around for but it looks as if he just couldn't take it much longer and didn't see much reward in it. It's possible that Vince, being Vince, will panic and beg Show to work Hogan to duplicate the Andre/Hogan deal. The thing is, Vince seems to changed his mind and thinks Cena/Batista or Batista/Taker (with Batista ending the streak) can be that moment.
