  1. Punk: The Final Chapter, no less. At least that show revolved around 4 current WWE workers.

    Survivor Series Match

I see it more as "Edge gets screwed and gets what he deserved" which is how they would spin it, Matt/Edge is going to be a modern Shawn/Bret in that they will always have problems and history with each other dating from their arrival as tag team and as they moved into the singles world combined with their legit heat. Doing something like that would just add to something that's likely to be an issue even 5 years from now. Besides, it still makes Edge look like the focal point of that entire thing with Matt looking like a fluke. Besides, Edge will get it back later anyways.

    Survivor Series Match

I had this silly idea where Team Rated RKO is "chillin" in the back before their match and Edge appears to have come from a shower/sex and then Lita comes in just before her title defense with Mickie and it's clear she wasn't in the shower with Edge. Lita asks Edge if he'll be watching the match but Edge claims he has to go over plans with the team. Lita simply shrugs and leaves, Edge goes back into the other room to finish what he was doing. On the way to the ring, Lita crosses paths with Matt. Matt makes a "Good Luck" remark and Lita thinks he is being condescending but Matt means it and says he'll never forgive her but he still hopes for the best for Lita. Lita says thanks and walks away with a smile. Lita jobs to Mickie clean but they do a respect angle. Lita comes back and Edge doesn't react until he notices that Lita isn't carrying the title and he pretends that he's outraged and that Mickie cheated even though Lita insists that it was clean. Lita, in frustration leaves the room and says she'll be back later. During the match, about mid-way Edge and Matt FINALLY clash. It ends with Lita "accidently" tripping Edge into a Twist of Fate from Matt and Matt gets the "upset" pin. Edge is angry but Lita doesn't seem to care but Edge starts to stalk Lita around the ring. They chase but it ends with Lita hitting Edge with the ring bell that Matt throws at her. Edge is knocked out and Lita stands over Edge with a grin. Matt comes up and relishes in Edge's state. Lita leans in for a kiss with Matt but Matt side steps her and simply nods his head and Lita understands. The next day we find out that either Lita requested to retire or that Edge had Lita's WWE contract terminated. This way it ends up making Edge look even more of a dirtbag, Matt gets that last laugh over Edge for now, Lita drops the title, comes off as a face in the end and screws Edge. Then Matt and Lita have now settled things but made it clear it's not the same. It just wraps up everything Lita has been doing the last year.

    Nov/10/2006 Smackdown Thread

I really like how Kennedy got his heat back after getting squashed last week. He came off very strong and was more convincing in this role then Orton was.

    Survivor Series Match

There will be a World Title and likely a Woman's title match as well. Survivor Series was built off the idea of the elimination matches. Fans still watch the Rumble because of the concept and the history it has. Survivor Series dropped from that nostalgic edge by making it one match per show. A show that will have 3 or 4 of these matches is fresher for the company and since the matches are so "wacky" but appealing, you get more interest this way then you would have had they done the Team ECW/Team SD/Team Raw match and a bunch of other stuff.

    ECW Spoilers for 11/7/06 Tapings

Did you watch Raw this week? Did you see the end of the show, specifically? People potentially tuning in to see the show are greeted by shit like that each and every week, and it does far more damage than hearing that their champ smokes reefer. The latter you only hear about if you look through the proper channels (this site, others like it, the local area's news), the former you can experience every week by watching their show. The company was reluctant to let RVD be a top guy and one slip-up was all they needed to justify moving him out of the picture and taking away the #1 star of a promotion that only a minority of WWE management wants to see succeed in the first place. Everyone tries to make this into a drug argument, but that's not what the issue was. WWE is already a complete and utter joke to the public in the first place, and very little outside of Vince raping and murdering his whole family could make the perception of the company worse. Also, having a straight edge champion isn't exactly going to make WWE's image look better considering the general public's view on sXe'rs isn't that pretty anyways. The Rock was generally as clean looking as you could get and even despite his massive mainstream popularity, the media still (rightfully) observed the WWE as a side-show freak act. Hulk Hogan was an admited steroid user and his popularity didn't decline as a result of it, Steve Austin has repeated domestic violence charges and he's still beloved by the fans and still a media name. Rob Van Dam is a no-body and his actions didn't matter by any means. To pretend that he's a image liability because of his love for pot (which has been a part of his character for the past 12 years) and ignore the fact you regularly have worse image situations such as death in star wrestlers because of drug abuse, rampant homosexual overtones, exposed male ass, questionable business ethics and many others. The RVD arrest was just the thing they needed to get what they wanted. WWE knew RVD was the ONLY legit name attached to ECW and had no choice but to use him to jump start the new brand. However, they really never wanted him in the spot to start with. These are some great post. I think they beg the following questions: when does his contract run out? Does he care he's being misused and does he have any interest in TNA, ROH or Japan? RVD had a chance to escape not so long ago and he knew that TNA would give him a big contract and that was a option but he really doesn't seem bothered by it anymore, so he extended the contract. I'm fairly sure he has at least another 18 months but likely more.

This Week in College Football 11/7 - 11/10

If Rutgers ends up playing a BCS game, much less the national title game (which is a huge stretch for the moment), would this surprass George Mason's improbable run eariler this year?

    Survivor Series Match

They could just call him "The Dragon". Just go around calling him by his nickname like they do "Nature Boy" with Flair. Steamboat is in good shape and even did physical stuff in ROH and still showed that he has a spring in his step but he can't work an actual match.

    Survivor Series Match

I'd like a four-way including Highlanders, Cryme Tyme and Jeter/Doane. I'd make it one fall rules and have Doane do the Owen turn on Jeter. Have SS split in the next couple weeks for good but Jeter convinces that if they both take this seriously, they could be champions again without the stupid cheerleader stuff. By doing the Owen turn, you can get Jeter over as a face and really get Doane over as a heel. Jeter taking a knee injury during the match with the three face teams working it over but giving him respect for fighting back but Jeter just can't get the tag to Doane and Jeter finally passes out in the Figure Four. They can keep pushing why Doane never came in or tried to make the tag throughout the match, then after the match, Doane attacks Jeter's injured leg. I figure they are putting the titles on Rated RKO anyways, no need to change the titles at the show but use this match to put over two new guys.

    kkk Bowl IV: Week 9

The entire NFC aside from Detroit and Atlanta is nothing but a crapshoot. Every team except for the 2-6 teams (SF and Chicago) are completely capable of reaching the playoffs.

    ECW Spoilers for 11/7/06 Tapings

Knox is perfectly fit for tag teams. He does well enough on the offense but his best skill is taking bumps, specifically head bumps.

    Friday Night Lights...

The show manages to maintain the quality throughout the season and the most recent episode was no exception. At first I thought the Lyla, Jason and Tim thing would get boring but I don't think it will now. Saracen is slowly slipping from dumbfounded nobody into town big-shot and when he finally makes something happen with Julie it'll be fantastic.

    Heroes

I could see him knowing that Claire is the center of everything and adopted her as a daughter for that purpose. I think it's too out there and it messes up the whole "destiny" approach of the show. The show is already fantasy, so you don't need to be so technical about why they got these powers.

    Survivor Series Match

It only works if it has the turkey graphic followed by the block pictures side by side. Go all retro here, WWE. I want the old jukebox entrance, I want the announcers sitting by the video screen. If only they moved it back to Thanksgiving Eve.

    Survivor Series Match

What's interesting is that Smackdown appears to be having 3 specific brand matches while Raw might have one with either a tag title match or woman's title match and ECW won't have anything.
  18. He's from Switerland and has the accent.
  19. Claudio probably got Vince's attention for his size, look and his character. Claudio isn't a conventional style wrestler as he does alot awkward stuff but is a good promo with natural heel charisma that could easily get over as a face too. He fares better in tag teams but he had a lot of good singles matches around the world. I think he has a good chance in WWE.

    Survivor Series Match

I love how they put a bunch of great talent in the first match and slap a bunch of really bad wrestlers aside from 2 or 3 decent to good talents but as a whole it's a train wreck. I'd do this match with a "extreme rules" stip to represent ECW Team Hardcore Dreamer/Sandman/Balls Mahoney/Yang/Carlito Vs Team Reality (Since I would actually just build the match around the faces trying to kill The Miz) The Miz/Regal/Striker/Benjamin/Slyvan Tag Team Survivor Series Elimination Match Kendrick+London, Cryme Tyme, Highlanders and Flair/Piper Vs Teacher's Pets, Doane and Jeter, F.B.I and Haas/Viscera Throw in the 2 already announced SS matches, the two SD matches added already and a womans title match (or perhaps more likely a diva's SS match) and that gives you a very full and interesting card

    Smackdown Spoilers for 11/10

Booker has been much more credible as a champion then Mysterio ever was and Edge never came off as a transitional champion(at least for the second reign). Rey's no longer a legitimate threat as a champion and using him with Batista would be a mistake at this juncture. 8 months ago, it would have worked. Obviously WWE DOES have faith in Finlay since they wanted him to get Batista his heat back. Booker/Batista have done well in their fued, it's just they dont mesh well in the ring together. Putting the title on Mysterio screams transition far greater then Booker has. Smackdown seems to be a case of someone like Kennedy may just break out in time to get the program with Batista for WM. They do have some options especially since they aren't shy about mixing brands together.
  22. Federline can actually cut a promo and get heat and looks to be a good bumper. At this point, Federline is a name (even if for negative reasons). Arquette was a nobody comic. Russo/Arquette was a case of Russo trying to be silly with cross promotion for their movie. WWE is just using the mainstream buzz that comes with K-Fed and they just want him to put over Cena.

    Survivor Series Match

I haven't watched Raw or anything, so I'm wondering, why do people think Jeter's turning? Actually, I meant Doane would turn. Doane's been the most vocal about the slide they have been on and is the natural heel.
  24. Hawk 34

    Survivor Series Match

I wouldn't go overboard with the wacky multiple brand elimination matches. Just this Cena/UMAGA-WWE Title Batista/Booker/Finlay-World Title Benoit/Chavo-US Title RAW SS Match Flair, Piper, Carlito and Cryme Tyme Vs Murdoch, Cade, Benjamin, Doane and Jeter (Jeter finally turns here) Smackdown SS Match Undertaker/Kane/Kendrick/London/Lashley Vs Kennedy/MVP/James+Stevens/Tatanka (or Regal) Extreme Rules (no elimination) TBS/Test/Striker/Holly Vs RVD/Sabu/Dreamer/Sandman Lita Vs Mickie
