I’ve been preaching the value of versatility from the start of this project and I’m about to illustrate why that was so important. The present roster of stars is heavy with traditional heels but thanks to the oft-stressed versatility, I can alter their alignment in order to suit my next selection. He’s not anywhere close to the realm and nature of the other picks such as Raven, Taz, Gen Next or even Piper However, he was one of the original true heels and like Roddy Piper, was a household name once upon a time. Gifted with tremendous charisma and guile, he coifed his hair into a golden spotlight and became a captivating draw. I can’t determine where he’ll fit into the group since he pre-dates these other names so significantly, even Terry Funk debuted in a distant future from this next selection's heyday but I am adamant that skills which inspired so many great and legendary performers, many whom have already been selected in this draft, he would still be capable of finding a spot here. With the next selection, I present to you, Gorgeous George

they battle every year in the Rumble match...or at least its starting to seem that way It's a nice little touch to the past two Rumbles and it'll likely resume next year, especially if they go the assumed route of these two facing each other at WM25.

Taking Konnan for the purpose of a draw isn't neccesary. He's a great promo and capable in the ring. That's worthy of his selection right there, it doesn't require extra justification. Why didn't didn't Stevie pick?

My Junior division is looking more like a Pure Wrestling division with Danielson, Malenko and Gibson. Which isn't a negative by any means.
-
I've said it before but they could easily revive the Cruiserweight Title and build it around Evan Bourne.
-
Others here know that I have targeted The Pit Bulls ever since I selected Generation Next but with the rule changes, I'm not bothered. However, losing two of my top 3 tag teams on the board in the last couple picks have stung. In hindsight, Gibson would have probably lasted another round, so that was a misfire on my part and really, my only one thus far.

Remember when we joked about that guy as a selection, well, he went in the 13th round.

The issue wasn't the inevitable conclusion. That's not why that reign is looked upon so negatively. It was the perception around Jericho that made the reign so awful. Jericho made the one effort to counter that perception with his lone highlight of that reign (the "I'm Not a Joke" promo prior to the Rumble) and it didn't change anything. He wasn't even the central figure in the WM main event. The main event was presented as Triple H Vs Stephanie McMahon with Chris Jericho. You won't see Batista Vs Vicki Guerrero with Edge.

They want people to go to the website. The idea is that you're interested enough in that job, so you'll go to the website in order to put through your application.

How were the matches with Angle "shockingly" good? They had good matches in the past and while Angle's always been inconsistant in the ring but he is capable against talent like Rey.
-
No. Sting was really fucked in his title reign(s) in 97/98. Orton's first reign was bad, and it took him years to recover from it. But nobody has been given a more condescending World Championship reign than Rey. Not even close. I think Jericho deserves a mention here. Mysterio had a bad reign but he never babysat a dog during it.

I hate Crand. I was going to take The Islanders. Tell you what, you can have Barbarian. Give me back Haku.

They'll probably use the same format as last year. -
I think El Gigante as the lovable babyface would have worked for Drury's cartoon promotion.
-
Were those joke picks? Did you feel guilty for missing so much time?

My idea wasn't going to be nearly as good as that anyway. Yeah. Detailed plans went out the door. C'mon, mellow. revoke his selection. You have the AWESOME power. Well, I mean, you have Mike Awesome.
-
There goes any idea of having Jimmy Jacobs be Raven's emo protege. Maybe I can give that role to Dean Malenko.
-
That's true. Now, he has to be a face against Adam Pearce. Hopefully that won't mess up the momentum of his title reign.

It wasn't just the Austin-McMahon debacle. The entire match was horrible. Absolutely zero flow, no dramatics, a entry list that almost made the 1995 version look like 1992. You can't qualify this being a passable rumble because the finish led to a good match in the future. Russo booking was all over this match which did no favors at all. Why are we discussing a Royal Rumble in June?

They should put up a stipulation that if Wrestler X loses, the money isn't given away. Make everything about this ordeal into a game show. -
That's why I thought it was a disappointment. The angle and execution was great but I've always wished Low Ki had a slightly extended run with the title.
-
Homicide got a gold watch title reign and losing the title to Morishima with absolutely no build (as well as right after Morishima lost his debut match) was a horrible conclusion to such an epic march towards the title match with Danielson. Xavier? I never had an opinion because that reign was never focused on him. However, I wouldn't call Punk's title reign an afterthought. It's still a well regarded period but that's more because of Punk's turn and the follow-up, rather then the title reign itself which wasn't all that horrible. Low Ki should be on the disappointment tier.
-
I think Samoa Joe would claim that. He takes tremendous pride in his part of that legacy. Punk? I would imagine winning at WM would be his claim over a fantastic and surprising title run in an independent promotion. Also, I would imagine James Gibson holds that brief title reign in high regard as well.

When I make the list for 2009, I'm just going to write down the first 20 people that I see on TV. I'd have better luck going that route.
