I kind of like a nice and sweet Orton.

No. Finlay has a reputation in a worked sport. He's old. He'd get murdered.

...and thus the problem TNA will always have in getting biger and becoming a bigger force. This is the least of their worries. TNA, was aware that Cornette would choose ROH over TNA in matters like this (Cornette will not fly).
-
Anyone can be a MMA fighter, you just need years of training. Wrestlers like Prudis, Benjamin, 'Taker and Lesnar already have a base they could work with in getting better.
-
Just so you know, Cornette will not appear as he opted to do the ROH show in Philly instead.

It'll probably be Sabu/Credible to finish off tuesday's deal. Sabu will do something insane and Heyman/TBS stare him down to start that program.

Ring of Honor 7.15.06 "Death Before Dishonor IV"
Hawk 34 replied to Hawk 34's topic in General Wrestling
It should be noted that Gabe hinted that they were going to change things on the site in today's newswire. It's probably to play-off that Hero is making one last attack at the fanbase before the final dance, and they wanted to test the site out. I'm just surprised they didn't put another message up there. The show is tomorrow Proto. -
Just wait for when Patrick hitches herself to the Jeff Gordon team next year. That will be a media machine right there. You'd have to assume that ESPN is praying that Gordan leaves his hot belgian model/actress wife for Danica, so they can deem them "Jeffnica".

People on smarkschoice were "hard" on that match and it was one I really wanted to see so I was dissapointed in hearing that it was -- well a dissapointment. So it's good to hear one really positive review. That would make it the best ROH tag match in history. Is there anywhere where I can download it at? Before you say to buy it let me say I'm unemployed, am owed a ton of money and have about $5 to my name. Actually, I take that back. Kobashi/Homicide Vs Joe/Ki, was probably the best. Both are still bonafide great matches. Kenta/Marufuji, is just more fresh.
-
KENTA/Marufuji Vs Danielson/Joe is the only NA tag match of the past 4 years to approach *****.

Um, let me see if I've got this straight. Rhino destroyed a potted plant in front of some people and they fired him? Couldn't he have just reimbursed the hotel for the plant and called it a day? They had to fire him for that? Geez... No wonder he told WWE to fuck off. In front of media, not just hotel staff members. Vince, doesn't want his workers doing stuff like that (airing personal spats in public).
-
That might be the case, but it should have been an actual program building to a big PPV showdown because it was money if done correctly.

yeah it got really stupid when thye had Urkel have a transformation chamber, a cloning machine, a teleportation device, etc. then it moved to cbs and they replaced Harriet with a new actress, and had Urkel get together with Laura.it was pretty unwatchable by the end. by the way we all know about the youngest sister Judy just dissapearing, but what happened to Rachel? suddenly she was gone but her son Richie was still living with the Winslows Speaking of that, Step By Step really took a severe nose drop when Balki replaced Cody. At least Al was hot (and still is).

WWE, obviously did.

What pisses me off most is the usual media types treating it like a great accomplishment... and tricking those families with autistic/retarded/kids. He was left alone to shoot outside shots. It was fixed. Anyone with the strength to shoot a basketball 20 feet can do this. There's people in wheelchairs and people in worse condition than McElwain who could do the same thing. The moral of the story is that we should all feel good for letting this autistic kid be the star of a basketball game. Fuck that. McElwain would have just as happy if they put him in for a minute, maybe gave him a basket, the crowd cheers and everyone is happy. Not this built up garbage to make it an "amazing" story. And if people involved with him are continuing this and making a movie out of it... fuck them too. It's disgusting. Most disabled people want to do things by themself. Handing things to them does not make them happy. Its hard to hit 6 three points in 3 minutes, I dont care who you are. There are college players that miss even the wide open ones. If you watch the tape, he was shooting from 25 feet. Most people arent going to guard you that far out anyways. Not really. Considering they just let the kid run up and down the court, it's fairly easy to hit six(if not more) of them in 3 minutes. HS range three-pointers aren't that difficult to hit uncontested.

They have players like Freel, Phillips, Aurilla, Castro who can easily play SS. They didn't need 2 more fucking infielders. They had FIVE players capable of playing SS, which made Lopez expendable and they went ahead and traded him for another one with a key player that you can't just replace that easily. But...they're gonna put Freel in the outfield and have Aurillia or somebody start at short, right? That seems like the best bet, huh? I'm guessing Clayton/Castro will alternate at SS. Freel, has been in the outfield most of the season and he has poor arm strength (something Dunn, Kearns and Junior don't lack). I'd perfer Freel at 2B and moving Phillips to SS and alternating Castro/Aurilla/Encarnación at 3B. Geez, what did managers do before they learned to platoon players? So, who would that leave in the OF? That Denofria guy? Wise. Freel, will probably be the main RF. I just think he's better @ 2B.

Money match is a different beast then dream match. Dream matches, is a subjective term. However, money matches are more concrete and require a different formula to even consider something to be a “money match”. You have the obvious possibilities such as Goldberg Vs Austin/Rock/Undertaker/HHH with proper buildups as opposed to what Goldberg was actually given in regards to HHH and Rock. Here’s some additional Money Matches that I don’t believe were mentioned just yet. Bret Hart Vs Hulk Hogan -This could have been done in two different circumstances and each time could have gained something significant. Starting in 1993, the obvious baby face of the past vs. baby face of the present was starring in the face of WWF and it obviously never occurred and this has always been argued and subsequently denied/confirmed by various people but we all know the simple facts, Hogan didn’t want to put Hart over. Hogan’s popularity had dramatically declined in the early 1990’s and Bret was soaring but not to Hogan’s seemingly unreachable heights but a steady force as a top shelf baby face to lead that promotion. Face Vs Face clashes are hard to pull off and very few actually succeed properly. In 1993, it might have been a reach but it was certainly worth a shot, as opposed to a unnecessary Yokozuna/Hogan program. When would have it worked best? 1998. Coming off the infamous and well publicized Montreal Screw-job, Bret was heading to WCW as Hogan was wrapping up one of the most significant and money making storylines in wrestling history (Sting). Instead of being the guest referee for a idiotic match like Larry Z Vs Bischoff… The timing was perfect, properly done with Hogan putting over Sting (cleanly) despite throwing everything at him. Bret should have been hyped to be making his in-ring debut (as well as first live appearance) at Starrcade (just to really add fire to already huge card this was shaping up to be). That night, Hart fights off N.W.O at the ramp to prevent interference and Sting wins. Bret should have gone over a upper-mid card heel earlier that night (possibly Jarrett, Henning, Bagwell). The slowly burn to a Hart Vs Hogan showdown at Great American Bash. At this point, the N.W.O is falling apart at the seams as no one can stop Sting’s path of rage. With six months of great build up and good hype…Hogan Vs Hart could have been a big time PPV draw. Instead politics reigned and we just received utter stupidity and witnessed Hart’s career get flushed by silly cliché antics. Hollywood Hogan Vs Goldberg, was also a given and could have easily been another monster PPV draw. I would have had Hogan somehow get the title back from Sting after the Hart program…and build to Goldberg Vs Hogan at Halloween Havoc. Goldberg Vs ANY WELL BUILT UP HEEL such as Scott Steiner, for instance to create the illusion that Goldberg’s streak was in danger and once that streak ended…the mega-rematch could have been another draw. WCW really blew a lot of money and never thought about how to make it back because Goldberg was guaranteed $ for them and they never capitalized as they could’ve. Low Ki Vs Samoa Joe II -Guess what? ROH has money matches as well. This was one of them that seemed so inevitable but it never came to fruition and it probably never will (in the context of the ROH universe and what it would have meant there as opposed to in TNA or other promotions). Low Ki, was and probably always will be a chronic headache for any promotion that books him. Is he worth it? Yes but if he wasn’t the caliber he is, he’d never get bookings. The original match, which is actually over-rated but it was a important match because it introduced Joe to the ROH audience and at the time, the match seemed incredible. Anyways, Low Ki and Joe had a really good feud that was basically bubbling but never got to a full boil because Low Ki was always in and out of the promotion.

They already had shitty relief pitching and excess infielders but that didn't stop them from getting more of them today. More BBQ sauce fits this whole trade scheme anyways.

On saturday, Cincinnati will trade Ross, Harrang and Dunn to Kansas City for Scott Elarton, Jeremy Affledt, Tony Graffanino, 3 prospects and a case of local BBQ. Maybe they just intend to bundle these people for another trade for a real pitcher? I have no clue at all. Cincinnati had tons of good offers for Kearns over the years and they dump him for Royce Clayton and some no name relief pitching?
-
Worse of all, it was Jim Bowden who figured it out. Man, I thought Krivsky was genius after pulling off the Arroyo trade and getting pieces like Ross, Phillips in there but with Mays and this debacle of a trade (I can't really say that until I see these guys in action but they gave a key player for two relief pitchers that don't appear to be worth a shit), I'm not sure what to think of him now.
-
There is a vocal crowd of pissed of fans around here. Kearns, was really popular but there is a silent sigh of relief that we dumped Wagner. Lopez, was expendable. Kearns, not as much. Can Al or one of the more intelligent people tell about these two pitchers we got? Clayton doesn't seem to add/detract from what we got with Lopez. Seems like we gave up Kearns for no reason. Lopez and a pair of prospects could have gotten those two pitchers. Kearns could have been packaged for a potential reach for a starter.

Kane and Cena It should be noted that 6/30 was a heavily hyped show at the Six Flags Amusement park. It's easier to draw a bigger crowd in your home town with John Cena to boot then it would be for Smackdown and ECW in a non "home town".

I hated the revisionist history on that show. Corey and Topanga didn't even like each other during the early episodes. Later they tell us how they've been inseparable since the first grade. They were always together. Topanga, followed Corey for years. I never thought they implied they were a couple since early grade school. I never thought this show fell down, it just suffered from shifting from the show it was to being a Eric Matthews vehicle. It was all about Eric the final 3 seasons, I agree that I never got the character change there with him. In High school, he's popular and the girls love him but in college he is a loser who can't get any girls and has a sick obsession with Feeny.
