ECW's return to the ECW Arena - Live Results

Idiots. What did they expect? They vocally complain about it being a WWE show while in the back, they are counting the money you paid to go to the arena and complain.

    OAO Vengeance 2006 Thread

I'm thinking he will stick to the regular taping schedule but skip the house shows and tours for the first couple months. I'm just curious if they will try to stretch out the DX/McMahons and SS stuff for Slam or just move onto the Orton/HHH program.

Have you not noticed that Ari and his wife are heading towards a divorce? That will be a key part of the season and as well as Vince dealing with being the "biggest star"...

    Rescue Me

I finally caught tuesday's episode and the show is just fucking rocking. People need to start paying more attention to this show because it's so much better then almost everything else on the air. The final scene was tremendously exciting/confusing/hilarious/intense/sexy. When you can wrap all those elements into a routine arguement/angry sex scene, you have something going. The homeless man with Lou was killer "you win loser". Maggie with the 4 other boyfriends, Probie "I'm not gay", The chair scene and the sperm bank scenes were great but the classic moment was of course the 4 way crazy chick convo.

Im going to need some advice..

That is a good start. I'll echo what BL said, just be relaxed. You have already established a groove with her, which is usually the toughest thing at first. I'm sure there will be awkwardness at the start of the date but I'd like to think you already broke through a few walls now.

    GQ shoots on.. someone

You can see here Er well, I guess that ties into some angle. I suppose it's creative at least. Well, it's a fairly standard storyline... Jimmy falls for Lacey while obvlivious to the fact Lacey doesn't care about Jimmy at all and has even mocked Jimmy right on camera with Jimmy in sight. So Jimmy nearly kills himself every week just for Lacey's heart and Lacey is cold and ruthless and ignores it or uses it for her own gain. The obvious blow off of Jimmy finally realizing that Lacey is using him will be huge. Jimmy saved his spot in ROH with this video as Gabe was ready to cut him loose as he wanted to push Whitmer as a singles star against CZW. This was all Jimmy's doing. He went and produced the song, the video and set the angle up. What I love about it is that, it's not the most original storyline (in fact it's an rather conventional one at that) but it's a modern twist to it with the lyrics "Put me in your top 8 when you myspace me" "Together, there are no other candidates we're the match of the year"...It's a great tool to branch an old wrestling storyline into the new age of technology and I love the fact Gabe lets his workers create their own storylines, characters and even lets them produce footage for him. In an era where creativity from wrestlers is frowned upon, you actually get to see wrestlers use their own heads for once.

What do you do with Kurt Angle?

Most people don't realize this but Punk designed the entire Joe triology. Every moment and every spot was from Punk's head. It's not out of the question to imagine that Punk could drag something out of Angle since Angle is 1/2 Joe but with a bunch of silliness and poor pacing thrown in there. Punk should start in the mid-card and build himself as a legit threat to Angle around the start of 2007. That being said, Punk requires someone with a good base or otherwise he will overcompensate.

What do you do with Kurt Angle?

You guys probably aren't aware of this but Punk hasn't done the sXe gimmick since 2003. He's more then just that character. So it doesn't require him to do anything within that realm as far as storylines are concerned with Angle or for anyone. Look at his programs with Jimmy Rave, ROH, Gibson, Albright, Gen Next...it had nothing to do with sXe and they were just as good as far as storylines went (in fact Rave > Raven. )
  17. Hawk 34

What do you do with Kurt Angle?

Angle is going to built as the TAZ of ECW 2.0. He'll get a bunch of squashes against jobbers and low-carders and all the while build to big ppv showdowns against the likes of RVD and probably Punk (down the line). It is the best way to use a near-cripple if you must. You allow him to be on the offense instead of taking the big spots that he is prone to take. He can save his energy for the big matches instead of the ultimately meaningless TV matches. Punk/Angle would be great, except Angle will get murdered if it becomes a promo war. Set Angle out as the unbeatable machine, even if he is horrible at being a pro shoot wrestler.

    HBO Sunday Night Lineup

I'm still catching up on season two of DEADWOOD, so I haven't started season 3 as of right now but I'll get there via on-demand. Tourgasm is a farce. I think I've laughed 3-4 times from each episode outside of Cook's stand-up routine which doesn't count as I've heard most of it already. It's a boring group of people aside from Cook. Kelly is annoying, Davis is bland and Gulman is just irritating. I had expectations for this but I wasn't aware it was going to be such a generic documentry style show. Lucky Louis was a surprise to me. I was ready to hate it. The first episiode didn't blow me away but it had its moments but episode 2 was fantastic. Entourage, it's still all about Piven. Episode 1 was weak but the second episode was vintage Ari and I enjoyed Drama alot as well.

Major TNA Impact spoiler from PWInsider

Exactly. It's common logic and it's how the business has always worked. Do the title change at the biggest stage if you can or make the event of that title change as big as you can make it. It's been that way for every promotion. WCW made the grave mistake of buring the Goldberg title win on a free tv with zero hype. It popped a huge rating for one night but a Hogan/Goldberg on PPV would have been the biggest PPV draw for WCW in 1998. Probably would have outdrawn Starrcade '97.

OAO 6/20 ECW Week 2 Thread

It was a big improvement with Heyman's finger prints more noticeable. It still has a long way to go though. Opened with a fun stunty squash from Sabu over Mamaluke, a couple storyline developments for the PPV. Macho Libre (a Macho Man parody) was hilariously done and Sandman murdered him afterwards. Kelly did a more appealing striptease only for a un-named newcomer (Mike Knox of DSW) to stop the full exposure...which prompted this reaction from a fan "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!? LET HER FINISH!" The main event was soundly entertaining and probably one of the better Orton matches. Lita got a new hair-do. The arena was darkened as they tried to make it more intimate but the crowd was still dead until the end.

    2006 NBA Finals

Dude, did you watch the second half? Dirk with, what, 7 points? Barely any offensive rebounds? Eleven missed shots in a row? I buy MiB's notion that worrying about the fouls kept Dallas out of the lane a bit, but that's a psychological block and they didn't even push it tonight to see if they could play inside. The only person who has a fucking clue around here.
