NAIWF should thank Matzo for his chance of getting Windham. If I had been able to to get Roberts, I'd gone with Windham instead of Raven. I had Windham ranked in the top ten of my draft board from the very start but I held off thinking people were sleeping on him. If Windham was still around, I considered adding one of his tag team partners to combat MVC. That didn't happen. I don't think a single person has gone through this draft without losing out on someone they really, really coveted.

I have no problem with selecting these guys as a tag team as long as they are used a tag team in the supercard that we're all supposed to present. Unlike Kane/Taker, these guys were pretty regular tag partners for many years and different promotions. The funny thing is, I spoke with someone about The Outsiders and I said "They'll be the first contested selection" but I can't see any reason anyone would object unless someone is clamoring for DIESEL.
-
I never realized I could have struck a chord by that selection. That just makes it all that much more satisfying to know I took them. However, there are still about 4-6 good lead tag teams out there and if you haven't already got one, might want to secure them in this round. There's untold amount of great singles stars that'll hang around for long time but tag teams will be scarce pretty soon.

I wasn't sure if it was the right time to take MVC but I knew a couple people, especially HTQ had yet to take a tag team and I knew he would want them. Now, I'm glad I did. How many people have I broken with my picks? 3?

It is important to ensure that I have a tag team taken in the early rounds and while some bigger “names” are still out there, I went to one of the biggest teams available, physically. Fitting in with the design built already, this tag team is an absolute perfect fit to lead the promotion as the chief tag team heels here. I have some hopes as to who their main rivals will be but I had to make sure that I got these guys no matter what. I wanted a team that was going to be complete heels in every aspect from their attitude, demeanor, and physically dominating wrestling style. With the 56th selection of the draft, I have chosen The Miracle Violence Connection Dr. Death Steve Williams and Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy!

How does everyone else keep track of their possible selections? Does anyone else have a "draft board" with all the possible selections and a pre-set ranking of how you value each name?

Thanks. What's really interesting, for me at least, is that I really didn't plan on Raven until Roberts was taken and in all honesty, I might have gotten an upgraded version of him.

There are certain performers in this chaotic circus that we call professional wrestling that truly sells everything about him, in every way, in all places and of all things so brilliantly. They are few and far between and within that special group, this next selection manages to shine because of his unique energy and intelligence to know the moment so well. I am convinced he can make anyone look good, he can make anyone into a beloved super baby face or trick a crowd into believing the man across the ring is the devil himself. He never truly worked a technically sound 5 star match but he never needed to. He could make a garbage match feel like the main event of Wrestle Mania. He has a strange and intoxicating charisma. He is one of the greatest promo artists of all time, a master of timing and a tremendous curator in the art of selling. He has played a part in some of the greatest storylines ever presented in the wrestling business and because of his extraordinary vision, he can do that for this promotion as well. I spoke of versatility often with my other selections because it’s vital for a promotion to have with its best performers. Unlike the others, I have every intention to simply let him be the amazing heel that he is. I do believe this selection will reveal that make-up of this promotion more then anyone else could possibly manage. With much excitement, I have selected the 53rd pick of the draft and you can quote this; I have selected the heart of this promotion… RAVEN

I do appreciate the complete contrast in your two singles selections. It appears most went into the first three rounds wanting to pair their top pick with the proper person. I'm not/won't in that boat.
-
I'm hoping that was a subtle hint from 909 but it's too early for that guy. Well, it wouldn't be the strangest pick.
-
I feel quite relieved in the recent selections, while all of them with the exception of Londrick were certainly on my radar, none were on my current top three. With two selections before my turn, I'm convinced one will be gone for sure because of the pattern one of the groups have taken. I'm not sure I can claim a "leader" but 909, Matzo and HTQ look good right now. Those are the ones that have shown the first signs of a design forming. A couple appear to be grabbing what they can making for awkward looking rosters at the moment.
-
It's not a surprise. People are selecting those they are more familar with since the idea is to build an entire promotion in our vision. Naturally, people from the late 70's to modern day will be those within that comfort zone as opposed to those in older days.

Matzo took a shotgun blast to my entire design by stealing Jake Roberts. I had visions of Roberts against Funk! However, with the exception of Dibiase, whom I figured would be gone by the time my turn came, no one else in my top 5 draft board was taken but I get a good feeling that HTQ will take one of them. Mellow, you could have waited to the 30th round and I'm sure JBA would have still been around but kudos for a risky move.
-
It wouldn't be only WWE. It'd be USA (which is owned by Universal) and the sponsors may be involved as well.
-
It appears as if Dibiase has already started to form a "New Million Dollar Corporation" with his son. Dandy had an excellent point about the $1 Million giveaway.
-
Anyone have any serious ideas about what the announcement is? I'm going to take a shot and say that McMahon announces he's retiring. We'll spend the summer waiting to see who is the new owner.
-
I wasn't a fan of Dibiase Jr. coming out in Randy Orton's gear. He should have been in a suit looking rich instead of a generic rookie.
-
For future reference, please include a photo and at the very least some sort of brief explanation of your choice. It'd give a neater presentation and insight into your process.
-
It is a fascinating collection and analysis of various aspects and personas within the business but the notion that some people have thrown out about it being groundbreaking and potentially damaging to the pro wrestling industry is an absolute farce.
-
Kerry was pretty high up on my draft board as well. Man, it's getting obliterated right now.
-
Son of a bitch. That was my target for my 4th round selection. I had visons of Pillman and Piper going at it in great promo wars. He also has a great 1-2 punch of Austin and Pillman. Once again, it really seems that many people are hesitant to make a selection prior to the 80's. Which will be good for the next few rounds because alot of great talent from those periods are still around.
-
Originally, I expected this thing to fall apart around the 4th round but given the consideration people are putting into this (some more then others), I feel this will be n success. I just waiting for the first legitimate "controversy" to emerge.
-
There is one guy I'd love to get and I'm worried about the space in between. 22 picks? Not going to happen.
-
There goes the second of the BIG 5 in the Tag Team Department. The other three could be gone by this round or early in the 3rd, which spells doom for me.
