Shit, there goes JBL/Benoit @ Mania. Regal/Benoit. Do it.
-
I'd do it. It's money, I got a family to support. Honor and values, don't exist in this business. Just witness all my other "friends" who equally bitch about it, behind the boss's back and to dirt sheets but when push comes to shove? They are on their knees the second the boss enters the room. It's not like anyone, aside from a small handful (in the grand scheme of things) really take my job seriously. I collect my paycheck, send my kids to the best schools and have a nice retirement saved up because I was smart with my money and all I had to do was perform my job at 1/2 my ability and statisfy a demented lunatic's fantasies.

Only five networks next year? Think again.

The other day, Rudo in some other thread somewhere said TV was going to be heading towards a new shift in viewing pattersn as we have shifted from reality shows and back to well written dramas. I guess telenovela's will be that new trend? It'll probably work. After-all, everyone thought a remade Star Search would bomb.... -
I'm glad im not the only one thinking this.
-
I don't know why they don't just slap the Bashams back together, it's not like anyone will notice they were even seperated.
-
The roster collectively: OH FUCK! *CM Punk walks in* CM Punk: Get in line folks and have your checkbooks handy, this piss isn't cheap.
-
Unless they aren't getting paid to job to ICP, it's not really a punishment. It's on a house-show, only that crowd will see it and they aren't egomanaics who would refuse a job.
-
So I guess this is going to be the start of an early spring cleaning? Also, I'm tired of people always thinking Holly, Richards, Venis and Scotty are going to get cut.

That's on week-days. iMPACT was on saturday night. I don't really know NBC's schedule but Im pretty sure they breaks for news. In fact, I just looked at NBC, it's Dr. Phil right now.
-
Dreamer+Funk Vs Impact Players would work. Storm will probably have the wrestling bug again after WM weekend, although he might oppose doing a brawl.

That's something i wanted to touch on, I hope they change things up as far as musical selection goes. I'd like see them force them into different genres. Kelly did well after AI, by adding a rock-edge to voice. Have the girls perform with real band and see if they can be diverse from rock-ish songs and pop ballads.

TNA must be the only people using the Olympics excuse to justify low-ratings. Since those ratings haven't been hot for NBC and tons of stuff is beating the Olympics right now.
-
Keep in mind, he knows TNA will read his response. If he bitches about it, that won't do any favors.

Official Smackdown Spoilers for the 2/24 Airing
Hawk 34 replied to BorneAgain's topic in The WWE Folder
What's the problem with that? Although, Benoit would be more ideal. This way you can also do Benoit/JBL in addition to Henry/Taker. I still wish they panicked and did Angle/Mysterio, Benoit/Taker, Orton/Booker as the three SD main events instead. -
I believe it's a requirement for reality show threads here. There is a discussion about who is the hottest? Katherine, easily. Who are we wanting to fuck? Brenna, hands down. At least with AI; it has a purpose. You can't deny that looks are a big issue with AI. If you look like a star, viewers and voters will initially respond to you better. Girls especially do this with the male performers. It's no different.

Well, Earthquake and Hogan will just at the end of their deal so it's understandable for Hogan to last eliminate his nemesis, who also happens to be a fat blob. I guess it made it more "incredible" to clothesline/boot Earthquake over the ropes. The Knobbs thing, was just Hogan giving his buddy a cushy spot. The 1991 rumble really had alot of good performences. You have ELEVEN guys near or over 20 minutes, Undertaker looked imposing and it took the greatest tag team ever to eliminate him.... Really underated show, with a hot tag opener, the great Virgil/Dibiase moment and solid rumble.
-
Kinda looks like Bob Barron...and he's from NY too. Creepy.
-
Hogan was working class? Bruno and Austin were good comparisons for the working class every-day man. You can argue that Benoit fits that quality too. Hogan? He was always protrayed as a larger then life icon. That's not working class.

Tonight, it's the men's turn... Let's just hope it's not a replay of last night ACE Age: 25 Bobby Age: 19 Bucky Age: 28 Chris Age: 26 David Age: 17 Elliott Age: 27 Gedeon Age: 17 Jose Age: 28 Kevin Age: 16 Patrick Age: 27 Taylor Age: 29 Will Age: 16 So we got a couple pre-teen looking kids, a guy who looks old enough to be those kids father, an obvious top 5 in Ace Young. Simon and Randy have been wanting a boy to win this time around after girls going 3 for 4. I think the winner probably comes out of this group. The girls only have 3 names who were good enough to be considered top 5 worthy. After tonight, that list probably drops down to 2.

Official Smackdown Spoilers for the 2/24 Airing

It took 5 1/2 years, but they finally made Angle look like an unstoppable machine. To the point, I almost forgot that a year ago he was trying to rape Sharmell. -
Aries speaks about the situation...via his site. February 21, 2006 ***HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!! Ok, I'm aware it's the middle of February but this is, sadly, my first update of the year so Happy New Year. On to the update...*** ***To clear up the reports on my knee injury. I DIDN'T "blow my knee out" during my match against The Naturals at TNA's PPV. I DID, however, suffer a bad ACL sprain to my left knee. It's painful yes, but as long as I don't do anymore damage to it I should be able to work through it. I'm scheduled to wrestle this Thursday in Green Bay, WI, Friday in Hayward, WI, and Saturday for ROH in New Jersey. This will be a good test to see exactly how good/bad my knee holds up.*** ***I'm excited to announce my return to England on March 4th and 5th for 1PW. I had a great time my first trip over there and expect the same this time around. I will also be returning at the end of May along with my tag partner, Roderick Strong, to compete in 1PW's tag tournament.*** ***With regards to my new TNA look. This was not TNA's idea and it wasn't really my idea either. Let me explain. A couple of months back I received a call from a close friend of mine Dan "Casual" Sexon, who is one half of the semi-retired Dixon-Sexon Connexion. As we caught up on what we've been up to, he noted he had seen me on TNA Impact! He expressed concerns that, despite my talent inside the ring, he was afraid I could get lost in the shuffle amidst all the talented X-divisioners. He then suggested I take a page from his book and repackage myself in a whole new way as to ensure that people would notice me. Now, I've always been about good ole' pure wrestling, but the "Casual One" made some very valid points, and if there was one thing he knew how to do it was turn heads and command attention. So after some thought I decided to take his advice, along with some of his fashion tips, and taking a little here and there from some of the more flamboyant performers of the past, the new "look" was born. Now some people like it and some don't, but people ARE talking about it. Now you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, but if that cover is outrageously glitzy, full of glamour and pizzazz, I'd think you would be at least more likely to want to open that book and see what it's really all about. Simply Fantasmic.*** ***Finally to address the reports and speculation surrounding TNA and myself. On the afternoon before the A.A.O. PPV I was contacted by TNA management and told that because of concerns over the imminent winter storm they wanted all their talent in the NE to come down to Florida that night. I was asked to catch a flight from N.Y. to Orlando at 7:30pm. This put me in a very difficult position because I was on my way to the ROH show in Long Island I was booked to wrestle on that evening. Faced with having to make the choice between canceling last minute on ROH, or going against TNA's wishes, I quickly realized I was between a rock and a hard place. Given all the information presented to me at the time and taking my own personal and financial situations within both companies into account, I made an extremely difficult, and somewhat risky, decision that I was going to honor my commitment to ROH that night, and hopefully fly out in the morning from Philadelphia to Orlando and honor my commitment to TNA as well. Luckily I was able to make it down to Orlando on the one flight that wasn't cancelled. By the time I reached Universal Studios, however, I was 4 hours late. Thankfully, I was in time to still competed on the PPV that night and live up to my commitments to both companies and their fans. On Tuesday shortly before my Impact! match against Christopher Daniels, I was informed by TNA management that they would be suspending me for 2 months for my tardiness and not following their request which would have prevented me from being late. Now there's a lot of debate over TNA's decision and if it's fair or not. I personally understand TNA's position on this matter and completely respect the fact that they're entitled to protect their interests as they see fit. And while I was also entitled and within my contractual rights to make the tough decision I did, I fully accept the consequences of my decision.*** Hopefully this will clear up any misinformation, and/ or speculation about this story. My hope is that once my suspension is served this whole situation will be put behind us with no ill will. I look forward to my return to TNA as it gears up for it's huge primetime debut April 13 on Spike TV. In the meantime I will continue to stay busy with my numerous other bookings and prepare myself for my TNA return. Thank you to all my friends and fans who have supported me and the decisions I have made. It has meant a lot knowing that the people I so passionately perform for respect and appreciate the sacrifices I make to do what I love to do. So until next time...*** Safe Travels, -Aries

I think Heyman will sign another short extension, just to make sure he can wrap things up in OVW the way he wants to and book his final show for WWE @ ONSII. If Heyman doesn't re-sign, I can only hope Tommy Dreamer is booking the show but I doubt that.

And the Smackdown ME for Mania is...
Hawk 34 replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
To send no one home happy. Given the alternative, HHH as champ again? Cena is very much the lesser of two evils. I'd end the night happy if he retains. Cena has become so unwatchable to me that Hunter is the lesser of two evils. So, the fact that he's unwatchable to you means that no one could be happy with a Cena win? And wasn't the idea of a Taker/Angle match or feud pretty much panned around here? One good match and all of a sudden it's like putting the two of them in the ring together is a guaranteed ****+ classic. Plus, I don't think a 'Taker reign makes sense, and I can't see him feeling a loss at WM at this point in his career. People wanted the matches, not the title on Undertaker. Seeing the alternative, we changed our mind on the Undertaker+title part. ONE good match? This isn't the first time these two had a kick ass match. If they did a 4 way, UT wouldn't take the pin and could still say he has never been beaten at WM. It's cheap but it's a loophole out of it. I'm still hoping for something like WMXIII to happen where the show gets shook up at the last minute and they have to alter the show. (Something like Orton losing his smile) If that were to happen, I think WWE would repeat WM13 and like always, Vince will go with the big man. In fact, it'd be better that way. UT gets one last reign (seriously, they can't do any worse then they are now). You give UT 2 months, he defends it against Angle, Benoit, Henry, JBL and then for Judgment Day, Randy Orton returns, settles the UT feud for good and he has a 2 month reign, that leads right into Batista's return and for the Batista/Orton SummerSlam program. That's what they want to do, in reality Mysterio will get an abbreviated Benoit run, drop it to Orton(who doesn't take the pin at Mania) at J.D and that'll lead into Orton/'Tista for the summer. -
Cena can't be the working class guy because those guys aren't rappers on the side and have fancy houses. Austin, fit that mold. Cena, doesn't. Most of WWE's fanbase aren't going to connect/identify with Cena or view him a superhero type figure.

I'd love to see someone use this as a defense in court someday. "Why were filming Ms. Jolie at her private residence without her consent?" "For a pro wrestling story-line".
