And really, that's all we want. That's all we want.

    AMERICAN IDOl-SEASON 5: THE THREAD

On-going thoughts night one: part iii Ayla ------ I like the whole athlete thing, that always works for me. She's cute but not close to Kellie and Becky. Ouch. Okay, one of these cute girls better start being good singers.

Are you purposely spelling their names wrong? I don't think I ever seen Beck-IE over the standard Beck-Y. Kellys? Is this a canadian thing?

    AMERICAN IDOl-SEASON 5: THE THREAD

On going thoughts Night One: Pt. II Becky ------- Incredibly hot. She has my proverbial "vote" Not being Blonde really helps her likability...as for the performence... She's hot and she showed more energy then Kellie did, in the battle of hot chicks. Of course, the judges want Kellie over Becky. So they put her down right away to make sure the sheep pick up on it. She wasn't a great voice but either was Kellie. It's really a battle of looks between those two, Kellie had a more charming personality. Becky is the first girl on the hot seat. ...

My on-going thoughts -I already hate Seacrest all over again. Mandisa --------- Good performence, but I really can't see her going over with the AI crowd, judging from past history. Kellie ------- She's pretty, skinny, white. She'll stick around. Decent voice, but nothing that'd make me stop the radio dial and listen (but that'll come after the production gloss covers her flaws). The nervous thing will make her endearing to the viewers with her "sweet nice kind of dumb girl" personality. ....

  8. I thought Foley won one of those matches clean in '96 but I'm not sure. I'm sure he has before on house shows and forgotten tv shows but on a large scale like a ppv main event? I can't recall.

Is there really a male "mold"? Ruben, Clay, Bo, Justin (the four big males to come out of this show) were all different. I know what you are saying, I was just trying to gauge what exactly can we call the "male mold" when the 4 names were different in looks, personality and voice. To hit on what Naiwf said, I remember it being Bo Vs Constantine: Battle of the pesudo rockers. Not neccesarily a "looks" battle, I thought it was Constantine who slipped first and that let those people who couldn't decide between the two to dump him.

Can you really be obscure when you are the guy everyone is talking about (for better or worse)? That being said, Ace reminds me of Constantine, as far as looks are concerned. I have a feeling he'll be the top male until some horrendous outing late in the show and in a "shocker", is voted out. I'm convinced most people pick who they want from the very start and just keep riding that horse...even if they deserve to be voted off.

    AMERICAN IDOl-SEASON 5: THE THREAD

You're probably right, the problem so far in sproadically paying attention to the audition shows, unless some-one really blows me away, I can't really put a name or face to a certain person. None of these girls have blown me away just yet. I think that's the main problem about the audition shows, they focus on the comical rejects and the "constroversial" ones and kinda just let the real talent rest in the background and give them the spotlight once the real show begins. Also, on Heather Cox. Is it just me or did every male in America know a blonde girl named Heather Cox in High School?

    AMERICAN IDOl-SEASON 5: THE THREAD

So here are the 12 Girls Ayla Age: 17 Becky Age: 25 Brenna Age: 25 Heather Age: 22 Katherine Age: 21 Kellie Age: 19 Kinnik Age: 28 Lisa Age: 16 Mandisa Age: 29 Melissa Age: 21 Paris Age: 17 Stevie Age: 19 On looks alone, Heather, Becky and Katherine are probably the top 3. As far as talent...well does that really matter?

    AMERICAN IDOl-SEASON 5: THE THREAD

The interesting part of this show has passed. Seeing the rejects, losers and the comical brilliance of the idiots who think they really are the next big thing and go nuts on the judge team. Can we stop acting like AI actually propels you to some mega-superstardom? Kelly Clarkson aside, AI winners haven't exactly set the world on fire. It's easy to sell a couple million albums when you have a set fanbase of 35 million people per week. Clarkson has survived the stigma of being a glorified talent search winner and stood on her own. The other 4 winners (Ruben/Clay, Fantastia and Carrie) haven't done that and you can already call Ruben a flop. I have no strong interest in the show beyond the first month when it's Simon's playground.

I thought we were just purposely trying to go off-topic... Anyone see the size of the shower on that HHH bus? GOSH.

In hhhis defense, I'm willing to wager that he has the Iron Cross symbol as his wrestling logo because he likes it in real life ... which is also probably why he has it on his tour bus. Basically, I doubt that he has it on the tour bus BECAUSE it's his wrestling logo. He has incorporated the Iron Cross as his own logo, similar to Shaq with the Superman logo (and if you see his bus and house, it's covered with Shaq/Superman logos. It's most certainly an ego thing. I've also see bands do the same thing.
  16. It's that stupid pesky, Randy Orton who is in the way right now from letting them have a great series of matches. The title isn't really neccesary, at this point for UT/Angle. It's basically about, "who is better?" The Dead-Man no feels no pain vs The Wrestling Machine. Do a rematch on 3/3 smackdown, straight up match. Goes 30 minute draw. Each men are even throughout the match, Angle is cautious to avoid getting into the choke again, knowing it took sheer luck to counter it at the end of NWO. Undertaker is aggresive, knowing that Angle's counter isn't going to be effective now. It forces each men to find new counters to the AL03 and Triangle Choke. They meet again for round 3 @ SMNE in a "submission" match, that results in a double submission finish (but not a double-pass out). Since they are going with Mysterio/Orton/Angle for Mania, Angle is the odd man out really. Mysterio will probably win just for the sentimential moment and get a Benoit run with the title. You can easily push Taker/Angle to Judgment Day to blow off that series in a 2/3 falls or "I Quit" match.
  17. And Undertaker tapped to a triangle choke. IRONY~! When was this? Was it the summer of 02? Yeah. Angle triangle choked him into submission during a double pin. The fact they didn't even mention that or the match (at least I don't remember them saying anything about it) really bothered me. I can understand that they are trying to make it look like UT has never tapped before because that was a couple years ago and they don't expect fans to remember that. It takes 20 seconds to mention that and adds a whole other dimension to the match that some might not have remembered.
  18. Tony Atlas makes sense only if Rocky Johnson is included.
  19. I second the Cole sentiments. It has been 7 years now and he hasn't improved at all. If anything, he has regressed. The only thing Cole can do well is the J.R style hyperbole. Other then that, he still can't call a match, is still a douche, still doesn't know 1/2 the names of the moves and basically everything else. Tazz and Matthews were a great combo, during that short lived period on Velocity. Anyways, does anyone like the idea of UT/Angle having a rematch on 3/3 that leads to a 30 minute draw or a double submission (similar to a double pin, but only with a submission) leading to a no time limit "Submission" match for SNME?

Thus proving that HHH does actually help build up new talent. More than Van Dam ever did in ECW. 2 years title reign and he cant be bothered Yeah, RVD never elevated Jerry Lynn to main event status. Wait, he did.
  21. I'd like to see Coach K go "fuck these pampered babies, I'll just take my own team and call it summer camp".
  22. The chance to turn Cena heel and for it to have any valuable impact was surrendered months ago. Triple H, aside from his brief DX stint and his heavily shoved push in 2002 coming off the injury has never worked as a face and there's a reason for it. He isn't a good face. He knows this and likes it that way, he'd be very hard pressed to turn face, especially since because he refuses to allow, Raw has no other credible top heels anymore. They neutered Edge, so that's out of the question. Cena turning heel now just reeks of desperate booking.
  23. I have watched the match three times now since my inital viewing of it and my stance still stands. It was an excellent match that really had flaws that noticable and that took it away. Could they improve? I think they left the door slightly open to blow that match away and step up to another level. This match is easily among the top 5 matches of each men's career and it might inch near the top for 'Taker. I still think Lesnar/Eddie was the last great WWE match that hit a legitimate ****1/2. (WWE only has 2 matches from me, to touch 5 stars). I don't want to give sunday's match a star rating right now but it easily beat everything since 2004's NWO that WWE had to offer.

They did promote the show moving to Monday, fairly well last week and through-out the week. Episode looks good, I'll watch it tomorrow.
