THE OAO Raw thread for 2/20/06

That's probably the best Torrie looked in awhile and I HEART Maria.
  2. What machine? Stacy is carrying her stardom on DWTS, all by herself. ABC and Disney are the machines pushing that if anything. What does she have to gain by sticking around in WWE now that she has mainstream credibility? Nothing, going back to that joke known as the WWE (to the mainstream and most of us here) will just cause her to fade out of the public view. Her contract is up, she won't lose her name. The Rock needed the WWE machine behind him to begin with, then he broke out on his own and became a star without it and has stayed there. Stacy won't be a A-list movie star but she wouldn't have trouble getting a sitcom role or bit parts in movies. She'd be an idiot to stick around in WWE, a company that keeps begging her to pose for Playboy. Whereas now, she's a star for her looks, personality and talent.

    Save Wrestlemania

This is just for kicks and isn't a prediction for the actual Mania 22 card. I will try to stay within the confines of the current WWE landscape as best as possible World Title 2/3 Falls/No Time Limit The Undertaker Vs Kurt Angle © US Title Four Way Elimination Randy Orton Vs Chris Benoit Vs Booker T © Vs Rey Mysterio *I would have Randy Orton put the title shot on the line at SNME against Rey again, with Benoit giving Booker T, his title re-match via the clause. Rey, who continues to whine about Orton cheating, gets a verbal slap from Benoit for embarassing Eddie by acting like a child who didn't get his way. Rey faces Orton first, Booker T still owes Orton a favor, so he comes out to help Randy secure his title shot but Benoit comes out and stops that and in the process Booker T accidently costs Orton the match. Mysterio is the new #1 contender. Later that night, Orton comes out with the intent to screw Booker T out of winning the title but Rey comes to the rescue but he screws up and costs Benoit the match and Booker T re-won the title. Meanwhile, Undertaker challenged Kurt Angle to a match on 3/3 Smackdown and Angle accepts. The match goes to a 30 minute draw. The match is another excellent match. There is another match @ SMNE, and this time Undertaker ups the ante and makes it a SUBMISSION match but Angle counters by making it non-title. This match is shorter but just as sweet but the finish sees a double pass-out as each men lock the other into a submission and no winner is declared. Later that night, Teddy Long comes out just before the Raw main event of John Cena/Edge and makes two announcments. A). Due to the circumstances of the rights to the #1 contendership being out of control due to outside forces, either Randy Orton or Mysterio are the #1 contenders. Due to the issues between those four men, the new US champion will defend his title against Benoit, Orton and Mysterio in a 4 Way Elimination match at WrestleMania. B). Due to two straight non-conclusive finishes between Angle and Undertaker, they will have 3rd and final re-match and it will be under 2/3 falls rules and there will be no time limit. * WWE Tag Team Titles Fatal Four Way MnM Vs Brian Kendrick and Paul London Vs Mexi-Cools Vs JBL and William Regal *MnM defeat Hardy and Tatanka on the 2/24 smackdown and toss them aside but Kendrick/London defeat Mexi-Cools that night to earn a #1 contendership spot for WM. However, the next week...JBL and Regal, two bitter stiff and pissed off bastards unite as a team and they defeat Kendrick and London. The next week, JBL and Regal are doing commentary to watch MnM face Mexi-Cools in a non-title match where they get involved and in the process, Mexi-Cools get a pinfall over MnM. The situation is that MnM are the champs but LnK won the "rights" already but JBL and Regal beat them but Mexi-Cools beat MnM. So there is no clear cut #1 contender. So MnM is forced to face all three teams in a fatal four way. Cruiserweight Title Gregory Helms Vs Jamie Knoble *Helms comes out on Smackdown and beats Nunzio in short but effective match and post-match, he cuts a promo saying that he beat everyone the WWE had to offer on Sunday and proved it again tonight and that there was no-one left for him to beat. Out comes Jamie Knoble. He quickly points out that he has not be pinned in singles action since he returned to the WWE. A brief brawl ensues. The next week, they air a promo from Jamie Knoble sitting on the front porch of his childhood trailer park in W. Virginia. Knoble cuts a straight-forward and honest promo about his "upbringing" from the humble home of the trailer park. That he didn't have anything handed down to him but what he did have was saturday mornings and he would watch wrestling and he watched Dynamite Kid, Bret Hart, Dean Melenko and Chris Benoit and studied them and learned as much as he could. He talks about fighting to survive and that when arrived in WWE, he was made. That he had done his family proud but he got greedy and selfish and forgot what got him to the WWE to begin with. He lost his fire and he left the WWE to rediscover it. They cut to video of Knoble working at a factory plant in W.Virginia, driving in his pick-up truck. Knoble says he had to rediscover his struggle because he forgot where he came from. He isn't ashamed to say he came from the trailer park, he isn't ashamed to say he had to work his 9 to 5 to get by to support his family, but he was ashamed he let the greed of being a WWE superstar get to him. This time, he knows what his purpose is. That is to be a champion, he can be proud of and someone his family and all those hard-working people can look up to and go "He's one of us but he made it". Helms continues to cut arrogant promos and mocking Knoble's upbringing. * WWE Title John Cena Vs Triple H *Triple H, wins the 3-way dance on 2/20 over TBS and RVD. Triple H blows off his angle with TBS at SNME but they really elevate that program for Mania that night. It's your traditional HHH storyline and your traditional Cena storyline meshed together for an uninteresting mess. IC Title Ladder Match Shelton Benjamin Vs RVD *Benjamin goes over Flair to take the IC title, and they build up this match based off the premise of who is the "WWE's best pure athelete". RVD, who loves a ladder match challenges Benjamin, who made the highligh reels a year ago for his athletic display in the MITB ladder match. * Retirement Match Vince McMahon Vs Shawn *You can't avoid it now* Falls Count Anywhere Mick Foley Vs Edge *Insert standard Foley storyline, sprinkle some Lita=whore jokes and a dash of "I was screwed!" Edge and do your usual Foley match with mass brawls, stunts and hot finish and people will clamor and give this match high praise* World Tag Titles The Big Show and Kane Vs Carlito and Masters *Yes, they already fought but keep pushing that each team aren't getting along and it'll be about "which team will crack first" and it can be short*
  4. Stacy would be smart to just LEAVE wwe. She doesn't need it anymore and unlike Sable, Chyna and Torrie, she didn't need to expose herself or whore herself out. Stacy is now a mainstream star because of Dancing with the Stars, she could easily parlay that into an actual career in movies and television.
  5. You'll have to deal with Batista coming back in the summer though but if you give him Benoit and Angle to work with at the main event with the others all alternating. To be honest, I think Batista/Taker could be a lot of fun on top. It'd be an interesting match, that's for sure because Batista has completely dominated since his push in late 2004 and despite a clean pinfal loss tonight, Undertaker is still the Undertaker.
  6. You'll have to deal with Batista coming back in the summer though but if you give him Benoit and Angle to work with at the main event with the others all alternating. Hell make JBL/Regal a tag-team, I think their arrogant high class yet stiff tastes would make a good partnership. It's just a shame that Orton's presence fucks everything up. Just shift him back to Raw and send...Val Venis over to Smackdown. That is about even enough.
  7. I think they can top it. I think they are both motivated enough to push themselves to top it. And obviously Taker is willing to give Kurt Angle quite a bit without overusing the Zombie nonsense. I think they can push each other to something really special. And it'll be wasted on free tv. Be it on Smackdown or SNME.

    TNA news

Well, everyone seems to disapprove of him, and he's causing a lot of strife. WWE could cut their ties with him and say its not working out, or they could keep punishing Punk, themselves, us, and TNA by keeping him. They will have no problems keeping his squared away in OVW for 2 years and after 10 OVW world title reigns.
  9. What about Benoit/Taker? dis-regard the US Title (Benoit can easily drop that to Finlay, JBL, Regal, Booker etc, if need be). I would imagine that'd be better then Taker/Henry and Benoit/JBL (Which is what i am expecting). Or Benoit/Regal...fuck. Too many options and we'll end up with Taker/Henry and Benoit/Jordan, I am sure of it.
  10. Ya know, the flu is a very bad thing. It could spread and get the entire locker room sick as well. I mean, It could wipe out the entire smackdown side. Randy Orton needs to step up and take a well deserved six week break to heal from the flu.
  11. This is the push Angle should have had in 2001, or 2002 or 2004...
  12. MAYBE 250,000 households saw tonight's match. Just because you saw it and loved it doesn't mean it's the best way to go, especially when they would likely duplicate the match (HBK/Angle anyone?). Sacrificing Kurt to Taker's ego would be insanely counterproductive at this point because you know Taker's ready for another 4-6 month vacation after Mania, while Kurt could lose an arm in a match and would still try to make the next taping. I don't believe in sacrificing the best guy you've got for a single night, especially when he was made to look awful for months at a time by Cena, who will also be sacrificed on the same show. The world does not need a HHH/Undertaker headed WWE. Think of the children. Unlike Shawn/Angle, Undertaker and Angle would actually build off tonight's match. Putting Randy Orton, unover as he is as your champion is also counterproductive. Sticking Mysterio in there, who has come off as a total loser for losing tonight's match isn't doing any favors.
  13. No thanks. It's bad enough for the Rumble winner to put his shot on the line, but for the GM to null it completely? And Orton has already beated Undertaker at Summerslam. The meaning of the rumble winner having a title shot was blown to hell tonight and it's not like a Rumble winner hasn't ended up not getting the title shot @ Mania before anyways. I mean, If you want to let meaningless stuff like the now worthless rumble stipulation to force us into what will be an atrocious match, fine.
  14. The WWE doesn't need Taker as a champion, But they need RANDY ORTON? Taker as champ necessitates either a long run, or a short reign with a fluke title loss. Neither is good. Orton could drop the title the following SD and no one would complain. He's a transitional champ, while they'd more than likely try to stretch this last Taker run out or just do the title swap to preserve his meaningless streak and then have him drop it back to Kurt or to Orton, which makes me say "why bother?" doing that match at all. We just saw it with Cena/Edge/Cena and I can't see Taker bringing the workrate this soon after his annual effort to show he's still got something. Against Angle @ Mania? He'd fucking bring it. He always brings it with good people in the ring. Why bother? Because it'd be a good match that has alot of interest because of tonight's match and people would interested to see if Angle can pin him again, this time with the streak on the line. That is a HELL of a lot more interesting the Randy Vs Kurt.
  15. This is like, the 3rd time someone lost their title shot. No, Undertaker/Angle III needs to happen for the World Title. Benoit/Orton/Mysterio/Booker for the US Title. Do Benoit/Taker at Judgment Day or whatever. At this point, Orton/Angle can't happen and sticking Rey, who looks like a uber-loser in the WM main event would kill the show.
  16. I'd turn Rey into a whiney face complaining that Randy cheated, and challenges him to a rematch. Benoit goes to Rey and bitches at him for being a cry-baby, Rey gets defensive. Booker T also puts in his title shot re-match clause that night. Rey/Orton goes first with it going 10 minutes, until Booker T comes out. They play up that Booker owns Randy that favor. Benoit charges out and during it all, Booker fucks up and costs Randy the match. Rey gets the cheap pin and is now the #1 contender again. Orton comes out to Booker but Mysterio comes out and screws up and costs Benoit the title. Booker is the new champion. Meanwhile, Teddy Long is baffled by this and can't figure anything out and makes a decision. Due to the confusion caused by the recent on-goings...The Undertaker is re-named the #1 contender due to a strong performence and that the US Title will be between Orton/Rey/Booker/Benoit. That'd clear up the entire mess. Undertaker wins the match, takes a 2 month reign where Orton FINALLY beats Undertaker for the title. Rey finally gets his moment in the sun by pinning Booker T to win the US Title. That leads to the perfect timing of Batista coming back to chase Orton for his World Title.

    War Games 1987, 1991 and 1992.
  18. The WWE doesn't need Taker as a champion, nor do they need a screwy finish. The odds of Taker agreeing to job twice in a row, cleanly to the same guy AND lose his WM streak in the process is just something I don't think can accurately be calculated. I want a good show, and a great match. Go ahead and put the title on Taker for a month, it's not like they haven't done it before. *I know I was against this a couple months ago, but jesus christ, RANDY ORTON? No. Undertaker is still a better option* WM, as it is right is a bust. salvage it by either giving us Taker/Angle III or Benoit/Taker. With the latter, you get the quality and less political hassle.
  19. Shit, at this point they need to just scrape all the "plans" they had and just put Angle/Taker III (we will ignore everything prior to the SD match) as the main event. The show is heading to bust-land, just admit and do a bunch of quickie set up and go for the work-rate crowd.

    NBA All-Star Weekend

To be fair, I can't tell who is who either. Why are the names on the middle of the back? Aside from Yao and Shaq, it's kinda hard to tell who is who in those ugly jerseys.

"Hiatus", which meant "We need to prove Beyonce doesn't need the other two", then they got back "together", so Beyonce doesn't look like she abandoned the group. She'll do another solo album in 2007 and probably one last stint with the group after that before going solo for good. Why do I know this?
