  1. Like UTSU incorrectly said about Gibson and ROHbots, TRAINED SEALS. man, Rudo might get his wish. It looks like they are building to something with Finaly/JBL already, just get Regal and Benoit/Burchill involved.
  2. Who said anything about lovable? He is Benoit Jr because he is very similar in style and delivery as Benoit. I wasn't saying build him as "the next Benoit", I was saying he is the modern Benoit. Junior wrestler who can do alot of great stuff in all styles from High-flying, mat-based and brawling. Gibson CAN deliver inside that ring, it's a matter of WWE not letting him do that. Who said anything about building the company around him? Of course, you can't build around Gibson. They couldn't do that with Benoit. They also can't build around Orton, either but that hasn't stopped them. Bottom line, Gibson can work, can get over with the crowd and can carry the cruiserweight ranks if they let him and the others do what they can. Gibson was praised before his ROH stuff, watch his HVW and WCW work. It's not an ROH thing, he got rave reviews in other promotions as well.
  3. Man, go fucking watch Gibson/Aries, Gibson/Strong and Gibson/Black Tiger. That is fucking Chris Benoit Jr.
  4. Wait, why did you just skip over Jamie Gibson? Indy-purging? Jack Evans would be logical grab for WWE as TNA hasn't done it yet.
  5. They have Jamie Gibson, right there. how is he NOT the ideal person to push? He is Benoit Jr, should have a connection with WWE's fanbase and he works their style.
  6. Six Matches are booked for this show, CW have gotten 15 minutes before (usually only for Mysterio, however). Cruisers are hard to get over when you treat them like shit.
  7. As I said before, Rey and Benoit will probably be doing a "Eddie Memorial" match. Already doing 'Taker/Henry likely doesn't stop anything.
  8. It seems to always be the case for a Smackdown PPV, doesn't it? CW matches either open a ppv, or go before the main event. I rarely see it do otherwise.
  9. Tonight, it should either be Benoit beating the injured Booker quickly in 5-6 minutes or Booker, whom turns out to have "faked" the injury turns it on and they have a 12-15 minute war. I still think they will do the obvious Eddie Guerrero Memorial match with Benoit and Rey, I just don't think it needs the US Title for it. I'd find a way for Booker to retain the title, only for Finlay to beat him for the title next week and do Regal/Burchill/Finlay/JBL @ Mania for the title.
  10. That's 1/2 the reason for the lack of interest. Also, it's because we have seen this match over a million times. The fact they have worked this many times and never really had a supposed "awesome" match doesn't help. They had good and solid matches but nothing approaching awesome.

ECW One Night Stand II-It's Official

Because it doesn't look like the ECW Arena anymore? Does it matter? Heyman said the same thing on Byte This last year when asked why One Night Stand wouldn't be held at New Alhambra. I highly doubt he's been there since ECW folded. In fact, Heyman seems to have something against Philly as he stopped doing ECW Arena shows almost entirely in the 6 months leading up to the promotion's closure. It does matter, if it's not the same feeling and vibe inside that place...why bother? Besides I thought that place couldn't hold the power that comes with a PPV.
  12. 6. The Orton/Rey stuff will surprise as far as in-ring stuff is concern but the outside events with the Vicki+Kids cutaways will just drag the show to a halt. Undertaker/Angle have worked good stuff together and bad stuff, it all depends on 'Takers motivation and Angle's health. Both are always questionable. Benoit/Booker, while OVER-DONE still stands to be solid, the cruiserweight match should be fun and watching Matt's partner interact with MnM will be interesting.

And of course it had to get worse

No, that's how WWE operates. I didn't see WCW, ECW, ROH, PWG, NOAH and all the other promotions using a death in the business to this extent. Not even the Von Erich's were this deplorable.

And of course it had to get worse

You know if they just had him coming out wearing the local rival sports team, they would get that heat they want. There is cheap heat and there's pathetic heat. Orton can't even get pathetic heat.

Bonds announces this will be his last season

While I doubt this will happen, I would like to see Bonds get to 714 and reinjure himself and find himself finishing at 714 tied with the "evil white man" for all-times.

    Hogan DVD match listings

Do they not own the rights to Hansen/Hogan or something? Or Muta/Hogan? Seriously, why aren't those matches anywhere on this 4 dvd edition. Some matches really don't need yet another DVD treatment.

    This week's Velocity and Heat

Since when does WWE throw around "MOTY"? I guess they figure the web-show market is the smarky indy crowd, so using those terms is supposed to appeal? That being said, that wasn't anything near MOTYC. Fun little match. So far MOTY is (Haven't seen ROH aside from 1/28&1/29, any puro from 2006 yet), so the early MOTY is probably Joe/AJ/Daniels from AAO or Danielson/Lethal Vs Strong/Aries from TAG WARS. However, both are low end MOTYC's and probably won't be anywhere on any lists by mid-year. WWE's MOTY right is the aformentioned Noble/Kash-London/Spanky.

ECW One Night Stand II-It's Official

Terry Funk is already plugged into the main event, or was awhile ago. I suggest the idea of Heyman using OVW talent for the ECW show, it'd be a perfect way for WWE to bring someone up, such as CM Punk. Quickie fantasy booking idea Main Event Rob Van Dam Vs Kurt Angle *I'd have MR. ECW challenge Kurt Angle, someone who has been very vocal in his hatred for ECW, if Angle is still the world champion by June, making it for the title doesn't hurt either if they feel like Smackdown could use an extra piece of starpower, then they can bring RVD over after winning the title at ONS2 and give him a Benoit reing* Terry Funk and Dreamer Vs Impact Players *Simple story, JC and Storm were thorns in Dreamer's side for years. Funk was Dreamer's mentor. One last final battle between bitter rivals. I have a feeling Storm gets the wrestling bug again after working with Danielson* Eddie Guerrero Memorial Chris Jericho, Benoit and Scorpio Vs Dean Melenko, Psicosis and Mysterio *I am sure they will do Benoit/Mysterio @ WM as a EG tribute match, but here's a chance to give more "tributes" to Eddie by using his close friends in a special tag match* Mike Awesome Vs Spike Dudley *I'm sick of Awesome/Tanaka and Awesome/Spike was Awesome's only other major rival in ECW and they always had good big man-little guy matches* Tajiri Vs Steve Corino *Steve Corino is a LONG shot, but this is merely pretend. In reality, it'd be Tajiri/Crazy/Guido in a three-way dance* Sandman Vs Stevie Richards *Have Richards play the flunky role this time around, He bumps into Sandman and this sets off a quick match between the two* Balls Vs Tanaka *As Laz said, they had good brawls and this can lead into the usual Heyman overbooked 4 man tag match involving Axl, Doring/Roadkill and Baldies with New Jack making a"surprise" appearence. It's not the best but it's enough with what they have.

    Foley is Blog

Because Flair didn't actually read the book. Word just got around to him, that Foley made a few shots at Flair in his book and Flair went on the defensive.
  20. And he's only ahead of Super Crazy and Nunzio, two guys that are only on there apparently because of that single Velocity match. Speaking of that match, and their placement on the list, and the pushing of the cruisers on SD, are we seeing the "cruiserweight push" of the year already this early in 2006? I wish they would keep it going, but we all know not to get excited about any cruiserweight action (in terms of long term angles) in WWE. Anyway, I thought JBL had a bit of backstage power in WWE. If he isn't putting up a fight about being booked the way we see right now, that says a lot about the guy. He held the title longer than just about anyone else in years, almost an entire year, and now we have what we see now. Imagine HHH going along with something like that, or anyone other champion that was pushed like he was. JBL had a HTM run, it didn't work for him or the company. JBL is still a good spokesman for the company because he is an articulate and intelligent person with a background in something credible (the stock market) and has media connections that WWE likes. JBL might have "stroke" via his tenure and his "locker room leader" status but he's smart enough to know he has to return the favor and put others other after running on top for all of 2005. JBL will fall in place as a mid-carder/occasional main eventer and work where he should have been all along, the US Title scene.

356 Million Dollar Powerball this weekend

I would just buy more lotto tickets.
  22. Orton's current heatless state must scare the holy hell out of the company. Despite the fact that Rey won the Rumble, and the winner of the Rumble has gotten the main event slot at every WM since 11, I doubt they'll actually put Orton/Angle on last. There is, after all, the small matter of Vince's Son-in-Law vs. the Company's Idea of What a Top Face Should Be. I'm tempted to buy WM just to see the Chicago crowd shit all over the card. Austin didn't main even WMXIII and McMahon didn't main event WMXV.
  23. As a whole, this card might be the most appealing Smackdown ppv in awhile. Put aside the shitty and embarassing storyline behind Rey-Orton... You have two, maybe three (if the cw match gets time) that could be worthwhile. The fact there is only six matches announced makes me hopeful, that they will give Finlay an *bonus* match.

    NBA All-Star Weekend

TNT needs to stop trying to pretend that the dunk contest is still cool. Magic kept trying to push that the dunk contest is "back". No it's not. 4 people no one ever heard of taking 20 attempts to get off their dunk is not cool and doesn't compare to the magic of the 80's. Get REAL stars to do it and it'll be important again.
