Wal-Mart is pretty much the best place to buy wrestling dvd's after Best Buy in terms of availablity

It was on the Rumble card too, with the exact same premise. It's basically a rematch with a couple extra bodies sprinkled inside and different heel champion. It went eight minutes last month, maybe with a card that doesn't include an 62 minute match, they can add another 5-8 minutes for this. The card isn't bad, it just has zero importance. Undertaker-Angle, have had great matches and stinkers. It really depends which Undertaker shows up for this one. I have a feeling, it will fall in between great and stinker. Benoit-Booker should be a quick match, with Benoit getting a dominant victory and even putting Sharmell in the cross-face to finalize that feud once and for all. Give Finlay an unannounced match and put him over (Dean, Sylvan, Jordan...) and start building to Benoit/Finlay for the US Title for WM. I won't even bother paying attention to Mysterio/Orton. NWO usually gets low buyrates because everyone knows it is historically a throwaway show (2001 being an exception) but it's also because the cards are usually weak as they aren't wanting to give any of the mania matches away. This card isn't weak but it's not strong enough to make it watchable.

Low Ki has been talked about as joining LAX due to his relationship with Homicide and TNA is willing to let the past be the past and give Low Ki another shot. Problem is? Low Ki has other commitments that holds higher for him then TNA. TNA would have to work around Low Ki's other commitments, which is mostly the reason they have been hesitant to pull the trigger on bringing Low Ki back.

Wrestlers better then Finlay right now

I don't get the Finlay love. Where did it come from? Since when is Finlay a great wrestler? I haven't watched him in WWE (and don't intend to, really) but in WCW, did he have one single good match with someone not named Benoit? Who doesn't have good matches with Benoit? He had the kind of negative chemistry in the ring that even made matches with Ultimo Dragon and Bret Hart boring as hell. I always used to wonder why they kept Finlay around. He put the crowds to sleep, net fans called all of his matches dull, he was just an extremely boring guy to watch. In WCW, they made him a boring personality. Finlay had good matches with Booker T, Benoit (as you mentioned) and Regal. He even had a couple half-decent hardcore matches to boot. They kept Finlay around because he's a good trainer and a guy who can handle his business. It's funny that you ask "where did this love come from?" and you admit to not having seen him in WWE and won't bother. Here's a way to figure it out, watch and you will be why he is getting the love. Also, this isn't "Internet love" like people act like they like Boogeyman or Snitsky, where it's trendy for a month to like those complete duds. Finlay's love is legit because he has been an excellent character and worker since coming back. -
Kid Rock, actually surprised me with his transition from his rocker/rapper persona into the country boy persona. While he has disappeared from TRL and the MTV scene, he has been doing fairly well with his new country based fanbase. Picture was a pretty big hit and is the song that shifted him into the country scene. As for Scott Stapp, why hasn't god done us a favor and killed off this tool for using him for fame and stanks?

Sir Charles Geno Auriemma are the sure fire selections.

Wrestlers better then Finlay right now

I have been saying for months that Booker T is 100x better then Tazz and Cole. Booker manages to inform, entertain and put over the talents while staying in character. I do look forward to seeing him job the title in quick fashion to Benoit, where I hope that Finlay instantly challenges for the title on the spot leading to an impromtu 12 minute period of awesomeness. I didn't think bringing Finlay in would be a good idea, because I didn't really think they would let Finlay be Finlay. In WCW, they made him out to be a boring "brawler", but in WWE he has shown personality but hasn't given up who he is. A stiff ass kicking irish fighter. Benoit Vs Finlay Vs Regal Vs JBL for the US title sounds delicious with Booker providing his "insight" @ Mania. In fact, Booker should just join Smackdown's announce crew for the entire show. -
Should have shown something from ECW instead.

Getting Alford is basically a PR move. While Alford isn't a horrible coach and has had modest success @ Iowa, he isn't the kind of name that I think could recover IU's program to the status they want to get back to. I heard on some radio show this morning that IU may consider former UC head coach, Bob Huggins. While Huggins has a great record as a coach and can win, he would bring the program some negative baggage and that's something IU doesn't need more of.

Is Downhome still inconsolable? Someone go check on him.

You know, The Undertaker doing the tombstone on Henry already makes me think they won't do UT/Henry for WM. Only because I was expecting that to be a part of the story, "Can the Undertaker utilize his usual offense on the massive Henry?". They already had him tombstone Henry. What is there to prove now?

One and Only Thursday Night RAW Thread 2-16-06

I hope WWE's not thinking about putting her in the ring often again. Ashley, Candice, and Torrie are bad enough. Stacy=Quasi mainstream star. RAW=#1 show. Figure it out. I wouldn't be shocked if vince puts Stacy (the sweet adorable dance machine that everyone loves on a very high rated show) against Candice Michelle (the trampy playbooy model who is known for her constroversial super bowl ads) @ WM. Those two might be the WWE's two most known household names(or images. in Candice's case), right now. -

Why didn't they have this match at Rumble? Even without Foley's involvement, it was still a much better match. -

Obviously, Jack will be too stupid to think "just show her the tape that aired on national tv". -

He looked fine against Carlito and the rumble, it's a total styles clash with Masters. -
Which is why I can't understand the sentiments from people saying Chris Sabin, AJ or Daniels should stop Joe's reign. Why? What comes out of that? AJ and Daniels don't need that rub, Sabin isn't going to carry that flag and he is already a cemented part of the X ranks and really can't go anywhere else except maybe a tag team with someone not named Sonjay Dutt. I have been completely against the idea of someone getting a fluke/lucky win over Joe to end the reign. It's cheap, ruins everything that Joe's reign is supposed to be and just makes the new champion look weak. Not to make an ROH comparison, but to make a Samoa Joe comparison, he carried that title for 20 months after beating top stars from Punk, Daniels, Danielson, Styles, Homicide etc. How did they take the title off Joe? Did they do a cheap fluke finish? Did they go back to a former champion who already had credibility? No, they built up a new guy, let him march through the competiton and earned that title shot fairly and didn't make him some sort of character going after the title. Simply enough, Austin Aries earned that title shot and went in and beat Joe, clean. What did that do? It got an new guy over as the new torch carrier, gave Joe's reign a fitting and honest conclusion and Joe still looked strong in the process. It's not hard to have Joe and whomever the chosen one is built seperate from each other, leading to the big match. That match should be a clean hard-fought match with Joe still looking strong but the new champion looking like he earned that title win. Joe's reign has to be a important event, because TNA has built his dominance as a key part of who Samoa Joe is. It can't be a dirty and cheap finish (Goldberg/Nash), it can't come off as a fluke.

I know we have a thread already opened speculating on what tonight's show will result in but I felt giving tonight's big event it's own thread was worth it. Here is what has been officially announced ROH Title Match “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson Vs Alex Shelley ROH Pure Title Match Nigel McGuiness Vs Austin Aries - No other match has been announced as of right now. Gabe made a rare promise and guarantee that tonight’s show has a big surprise that won't disapoint, and that by missing it, it will be a regret fans will never forget (playing off an old ECW hype) and might even introduce a different format. Also, offered a full refund by the end of the 3rd match to any fans disappointed. Speculation as to what this surprise is has ranged from Jericho, Foley, Benoit, Regal, Kobashi, Jarrett, London, Gibson, Paul Heyman, Spanky and CM Punk. DOI reports Punk is in LI right now, although it’s not uncommon for Punk to appear backstage for ROH shows (he recently attended the ROH show in Dayton just 2 weeks ago, alongside Al Snow). It was reported by PWI, that TNA has requested that Alex Shelley, Homicide and Jay Lethal not appear at the ROH show and head to Orlando because they are booked for 2/12 PPV and there is a massive snowstorm on the way for the Long Island area. Austin Aries and Roderick Strong, decided to stay in Long Island, despite also being booked for the TNA ppv. Samoa Joe is also not scheduled for the show either is Daniels and AJ Styles. (Joe and Daniels, are flying in from Korea into Orlando) To say ROH is lacking star-power is a understatement. It potentially has lost it’s main event tonight with Shelley out. It will be quite an eventful night, with a lot of questions and expectations abound.
-
Considering that he did what TNA asked him to do, was pushed in the 4 way @ AAO and is semi-involved in the main program. Shelley will be alright.
-
Aries just has a sprained knee, he's still taking other bookings for right now.
-
For those two, it's not about the money with ROH. Aries is ROH's trainer and locker room leader, so it's not just another booking and Roderick Strong is basically right there with him. Alex Shelley has made it clear before ROH isn't as important as TNA and Z1 for him. TNA is just sending a message and Aries/Strong will be be used as examples here.

Hardy? One guy has slept with every girl he ever works with, the other dated a girl who slept with every guy she ever worked with. Sensible pairing.

It should have been done the other way around, Angle gets cocky and decides to put the title on the line 2-3 weeks before Mania (as they did with the Eric Angle switch) and then Brock would snap and take Angle out and injure him and win the title, with help from reuniting with Paul Heyman. Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle's biggest rival charges the ring and brawls with Lesnar. Simple set up, the monster heel with no remorse against the seasoned veteran avenging the injury of his biggest rival. (That could be the plot of a movie! Nah, too far-fetched). Benoit wins a classic and takes a 1-2 month reign and drops it to Lesnar and by that time Angle comes back and to start things off, they do Angle/Benoit Vs Lesnar/TBS (united via Heyman), setting up the big match with Angle and Lesnar at Summerslam. They do a rubber-match blowoff the next month, with Angle getting the final match. From there you could go with Benoit/Angle based off Benoit stepping up for Angle after the injury. In my little fantasy world, Angle would have taken the normal surgery and taken a year off instead, returning to face Lesnar (after winning the title back from Benoit) in his return match at WrestleMania XX.

Notice there are about 5 people are actually dicussing the merits of Valentine's day and the good side of it, the rest are comparing video game stories. Just something to point out.

Maybe he just got so used to eating the worm while drinking Tequila that he loves to eat worms now. Considering that he listened to the WWE in regards to not getting any dental work done on his knocked out teeth, it sounds about right that he really would eat the worms.
